with the emergence of Donnel as a pass catcher and the unreliability of our wide receivers, why not use more of the 2 TE sets with Fels being used as primarily a blocker and Donnel as a slot receiver?
continuing to waste a spot on the roster for an unproductive, and what has been called here, a near brain dead athlete that has been called the JPP of TEs.
So far it looks like we have a hard enough time run blocking as it is. Add in the fact that the TE's that we DO have by all acounts are not very good at blocking and I just don't see the wisdom in using a set like this more that a few times a game to keep the D honest/guessing. Just my opinion.
is likely gone after this year. Same for Robinson, absent a major turnaround. Really a poor reflection on Reese.
Reese has done pretty good job bringing in receivers for the Giants. He's just been unlucky that Nicks, Smith, and MM all had their athleticism destroyed by knee injuries.
- Donnell has contributed the most to our passing game currently with the least amount of drops.
- We haven't been able to run the ball effectively.
- 2 of our top 4 wide receivers going into the season will not be playing in this game.
- Our base offense has been 3 wide recievers with a single back for the past 2 weeks.
Playing two tightends will
- throw something at the defense that hasn't been seen yet.
- Put in a bigger body that should assist in the running game.
- Still allow flexibility in the passing game. You can split out a tight end wide and allow Cruz to play the slot where he is best suited. The defense still needs to cover the guy.
- Allow max protect to give more time for Cruz to run some double move routes which he is best at or allow Randle to allow for some less quick decision making routes which he seems to be terrible at.
especially with the 1 runningback who can catch, that gives you 5 players who can run routes and catch, allows max protect on some plays, and adds power to the run game
Shame on them for keeping this guy.

On the flip side Donnell has looked solid. Credit to Reese there.
