Wally is honest, no fluff, and I believe him, a straight shooter

is one of the people in the organization who is NOT a Puello fan, in fact it seems like very few are.
great read but a word of caution

Wally said Ceciliani and Vaughn were going to be major leaguers when he coached them in A ball.

Really ?
Headhunter : 9/19/2014 8:52 pm : link
projected A ball players as Big Leaguers?

should be the bench coach next season.
Nice link. Looking forward to 2015.

I hope we can hold this lead. It's always nice to beat the Braves.
I think Thor has to watch tapes

of himself all winter and try to formulate an idea what to do in similar situations he found himself in last year. Throwing 28 fastballs in a row when you have a " hook from hell" plus a good change makes little sense. He has to become deGrom like opposed to Pelfry like by getting the sign from the catcher and throw the ball instead of slowing down. I like what Wally said about Princecum, rooting for him to make it somewhere
Nice solid game tonight

We all know this

but nice to see the mainstream media writing it.

Quality start % - I didn't want to start a new thread for this,

but I was curious how our guys did and wanted to share what I found. Mets starters did very well compared to starters from other nl teams. We have no one in the top ten, but de Grom is at 11, Niese is at 16, Wheeler is at 27 and Colon 36. That may not sound like much, but remember there are 15 teams in the nl. Atlanta is the only other team with 4 players in the top 36. They list the Cubbies, but it includes a pitcher they traded to Oakland.

All of you probably know this, but in case someone doesn't, a quality start means a pitcher goes 6 innings and gives up 3 runs or less.
It's funny that the Mets could finish in 2nd place in the division.

I didn't realize they were only 2 1/2 games behind the Braves.

LOLBarves

The Nats really ran away with it.

DeGrom now has produced a 1.77 ERA in 13 starts since July 8. That is the third-best ERA in the majors during that span, trailing only the Rays’ Alex Cobb (1.61) and Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw (1.75).
time to see

Tovar

is Tejada 2.0. Zero power, zero speed. Probably a better glove than Tejada but he's not a starting MLB SS for a good team. 15 extra base hits in all season.
