#Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is viewed as a longshot to play today vs. #Giants, sources says. Could mean a lot of Alfred Blue & co
they do not want to Fitzpatrick to actually have to make plays. D has to bottle up that run and get some turnovers and three and outs instead of being embarrassed on third and long.
Giants need to get this one today, this is the Super Bowl , go Big Blue!
catch a break...Carson Palmer was out last week...
Foster is a huge part of their offense running and catching the ball...it is abreak...if we lose, it is because we do it to ourselves. Stanton was pedestrian last week.
Is usually to sit back and try to prevent the big play. We do not attack back-up QBs. IMO We are actually less aggressive when we should be more aggressive. We let the reserves gain confidence.
It certainly would be a good thing, but should not make a difference with the way we play.
Coming out party for Mr Blue? Or last minute reprieve for Big Blue?
Did everyone suddenly forget we went from 0-6 to 4-6
settled down and played well against Stanton. He didn't even break 20 yards. Fitzgerald was held to around 50 of those. The D-line was getting pressue and the secondary was preventing big plays.
That game was lost because of special teams and turnovers and you know it.
Arian Foster being out helps, especially with us having Herzlich out there. So expect Houston to play a bit more conservatively on Offense and probably a bit more aggressively on Defense to make up for it.
Although the game is still probably no better than a toss-up, this is like replacing Tiki Barber with Damon Washington. (Yeah, the Giants won that game, but still...)
Wonder if the smart money knew about this. It would account for the dramatic move in the line.
Giants defense did not play well against the Cardinals. Against a back-up QB who had not played in 4 years, they allowed the Cardinals to control the ball in the first half, put up 10 first quarter points, then when Giants went up 14-10, allowed yet another long drive. Plus, the Cardinals rushed for well over 100 yards.
That was an opponent the Giants should have completely shut down.
we lose a starting WR, our OL is sporting guys we were hoping wouldn't have to see snaps, and our high first round draft pick has been nursing a bad hammy from the jump...
...but the Giants catch a break.
Ironically, if Andre Brown had shown the Texans anything ...
...he'd be in line to play a big role for them today. Instead, they have Ronnie Brown as the most likely third-down guy, despite the fork that has protruded from his back since mid-2007. Jonathan Grimes has decent hands too. Blue's credentials as a receiver resemble Andre Williams's.

I believe he is suspended. Unless he was one of the players allowed back after the agreement.
The Giants D did not play well last week. They weren't terrible, but they weren't good. I truly can't stand Fewell's D.
The difference between last week and this week is outsdie of replacing Stanton for Palmer, the Cardinals offense still had some playmakers and a decent OL. The Texans, without Foster and with Johnson suspended are not a very good offense.
I bet Fewell leaves the recievers in single coverage and loads up in the box to stuff the run. Except on third and long when Fewell will drop the pass rush into coverage and bring the DBs into the box to stuff the run. You know, just because that doesn't make any sense at all.
Good defenses shut down crappy back up QBs and get the ball back for their offense. No turnovers and the Giants offense only had the ball three times in the first half.
The defense needs to carry the team - and they are not doing it.

agreed. Fewell must be on the hot seat this seat.
Defense played well for a stretch versus the Cards

yea forget about that 4 game winning streak last year vs backups....

We might as well forfeit the remaining 13 games.
He's injured, not playing poorly. He's an awesome RB when healthy regardless of system. He's the smoothest runner in the NFL, IMO.

Offense not taking care of the ball
Specials giving up big plays

But I have a feeling the scheme and o line in Houston help him A LOT

Yeah.. He's fun to watch. I was speaking more to the fact that a back up may be able to come in and do well given the offense.

week one down 14-0, week 2 down 10-0 before the anthem's over. and then not stopping the run after the O reels it in with the lead. that is bad D.
a backup QB walks into ur house, u do what the Falcons did to mccown and the Bucs thursday nite.
the D needs to start the game strong, particularly at home.
And all we heard this week on this board was about how the defense "couldn't stop them"
Yes, we gave up the early TD.. which was aided by a couple of brutal calls. It was the only TD the defense gave up all game.
We have to protect the football. Stop giving it away and we'll actually win games like this. It's very simple.
Arian Foster on the field now testing out his hamstring with trainers. Reports have been that he won't play today. Nothing official yet #NYG
The defense needs to carry the team - and they are not doing it.

It won't get better without Beason, let's hope the DL brings it and the DBs make fewer mental/comm errors.
Just get to 1-2.
Crap.
How about Tom Quinn? Is he there? Yes?
Double crap.
