I hear that..
rangersin6 : 9/21/2014 9:03 am : link
Eli just got sacked walking into the stadium
Arian Foster is out
Jints in Carolina : 9/21/2014 9:13 am : link
get it done GMEN.
Win.
SanFranGiantsFan : 9/21/2014 9:19 am : link
If not, turn out the lights.
They need to win this game.
St. Jimmy : 9/21/2014 9:22 am : link
The prospect of two seasons in a row being over before the leaves turn is not something I want to face.
If the OL can somehow buy Eli time against JJ Watt
Jim in Forest Hills : 9/21/2014 9:34 am : link
then the Giants have a shot.
I don t think
JoefromPa : 9/21/2014 9:38 am : link
The Giants are doomed to a bad season by their bad start and I don t even think a win today is a must win. But the Giants today must play more athletic. It is a concern that you hear coming out of Giants practice this week that they have been playing cautiously on defense. Thinking instead of playing.

Why does this happen every year with Few ell s defense.
we
Bradshaw #44 : 9/21/2014 9:41 am : link
need to get this going in a positive direction. Lets hope they can be back to 500 in 5 days.
Look for Eli on the "roll-out to his right" play
Jimmy Googs : 9/21/2014 9:54 am : link
in the first set of downs.

And then throwing the ball into the ground when no one gets open...
I have little hope today.
yatqb : 9/21/2014 9:56 am : link
The team still has no OL, and I also have no faith in Fewell. And why does Marc Ross still have a job?

Ive wondered why his draft record isnt being more closely scrutinized.
With Foster out or limited
trueblueinpw : 9/21/2014 10:06 am : link
And Fitzpatrick at the helm of the Texans offense, our pathetic Scary Fool defense better play better.

I'm worried about Eli getting killed by JJ Watt.
Just win. Don't care how.
Big Blue Blogger : 9/21/2014 10:10 am : link
Ugly is fine. Protect the ball, make a few plays, and grind one out.
season on the line
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 9/21/2014 10:27 am : link
no excuses. The offense needs to build on last week, the defense needs to take care of business against a depleted opposing offense, and our Special Teams needs to bounce back from last week's shitfest.

Feeling pretty confident about this one outside of one thing... JJ Watt. Arguably the best non-QB in the game. He could wreck this game for us. I still think we get it done today.
Foster being out doesn't give us all that much of an advantage
Big Blue '56 : 9/21/2014 10:29 am : link
if prior history of effective plugged in backs is any indicator..With or without him, I'm not all that concerned about their O..Their D is what I care about the most
win big
spike : 9/21/2014 10:29 am : link
dont leave it to ST to lose the game
easily the best Defense we've played against
area junc : 9/21/2014 10:32 am : link
yet.

watt is a hall of fame -quality DL, cushing is a beast, brooks reed and mercilus bring real threats off the edge unlike AZ a week ago.

if we move the ball on these guys it will be a very good sign but on paper it looks like our O-line's in big trouble.
we will need
area junc : 9/21/2014 10:33 am : link
a very good gameplan on offense. let's see what mcadoo comes up with.
Must win game...
M.S. : 9/21/2014 10:38 am : link
...Giants will be done for 2014 with an 0-3 start.

The Eagles will be the only representative from our division, and we can't beat them 3 times this season.

Hard to envision beating the Eagles even once.

Boys... this IS our season right here and now today in Houston.

Gotta have it today. Effort, focus, the whole deal
Or
Just win by 1 point!

Just said JJ Watt will get 5 sacks today. What a dickhead.
Don't get the idea If they should lose today, the 2014 season is over
micky : 9/21/2014 10:58 am : link
Don't agree. It's a work in progress. Looking just to keep the game close into the 4th qtr. Hopefully all three phases with come together or get closer.

Yes. This is basically a playoff game.

Well, if they are in Houston, then they'll win...because they'll be playing against no one...The Texans are at Metlife.
JJ Watta 5 Sacks
thevett : 9/21/2014 11:22 am : link
sounds reasonable unless they double or triple team him
Micky...
M.S. : 9/21/2014 11:23 am : link
...it is indeed a work in progress.

But 0-3 is kinda tough for a team that is a "work in progress".

It is the equivalent of a team that will not make the playoffs.

That said, if the Giants don't make the playoffs, but this team makes great strides in laying the foundation for future years, I think a lot of BBIers would settle for that.

But the way things are trending, we may well get a lot less than that.

A lot!

AcidTest : 9/21/2014 11:31 am : link
the Giants will play better, but Houston wins a close game.

GO GIANTS!
JJ Watt vs the interior of this OL is going to be an unmitigated
Riggies : 9/21/2014 11:32 am : link
disaster.

Fitzpatrick is going to have to have a total meltdown today for the Giants to have a shot at winning this (in ugly, but a win-is-is-a-win fashion).
..
NewBlue : 9/21/2014 11:56 am : link
Amazing how far we have fallen.
In comes a team that finished with the worst record in the league, without their No. 1 pick, with a mediocre QB, and on the road, yet most people see this as an even match up

He's under rating JJ Watt. I can see 6 easily.
Foster not playing gives the Giants a shot
GeofromNJ : 9/21/2014 12:19 pm : link
I had visions of Foster running up and down the field for 150 yards without Beason in the lineup. It still won't be easy for the Giants to stop the run without Beason, but if they lose, it won't be because the Texans' running game consumes 40 minutes of the play clock.

Because Fewell kinda sucks as a DC!

I want to see a lot of screens and quick passes to Jennings to slow Watt down. However, we probably won't and Eli will be running for his life.
