Good news is on the horizon for the Giants offense... eventually. No Odell Beckham today but he's fully expected for Thursday vs. Skins
arc: I think it's critical to have a healthy ODB. I don't think they'd be talking about him playing the Skins if his hammy wasn't 100%. This is very good news.
Jimmy, I'm praying that hammy is 100% and they hold him out today as a precaution. Anything less and this would be a terrible mistake. I don't think he's had a full practice yet.
If we fall to 0-3, it's too late. We're not recovering from an 0-3 start with this team and our year is going to be over before October just like it was last year.
We can't let that happen. We need to get it done today. This is actually a huge game.

I think this is a bit of a smoke-screen to give the Redskins defense a "little" more to plan against...and I stress a little.
Just sayin' I don't see a guy who hasn't practiced with the first team offense in 4 months (when we didn't even have a first team offense) ready to run routes for Eli.
With Jimmy, would make more sense if he was questionable for today's game and a hope of Thursday. Let's see if we get confirmation of this from other media.

Agreed in that respect. Punt returner would require a lot less full speed practice but timing is not an issue. Maybe he can practice 2-3 routes this week with Eli so Beckham appears to be a deep threat lining up as the X receiver.
That may help the running game if it forces defenses to account for him.
This. Not expecting much. The rookie who missed all of camp, preseason, and the first three games is suddenly going to save us? Not likely. No fault to Beckham, but we shouldn't need him as a panacea for our problems.
needs a lot of practice and game time before he becomes a big asset to us. Thats if he is completely healthy and does not get hurt again. The Skins look weak and after coming off a short week may be made to order for him to get his feet wet.

I would tend to agree. And this Offense needs any help it can get to create some space. Just pray to the Lord above that Beckham doesn't have another "setback" with the hammy or this site will lose its mind...
that participated in 2 partial practices so far in his career. It's ridiculous to think that he will be able to contribute much on Thursday and for a few weeks beyond.
@JordanRaanan: Re: Beckham... Seems like stretch for guy who hasn't participated in full practice since early June to be "fully expected" to play in 4 days
@JordanRaanan: Let's see Beckham make it through ONE full practice before reaching that conclusion. #Giants only have 2 practices in short week, too.
I'll believe it when I see him line up on the field during a real "live" game. Until then let's hope our active receivers can avoid their case of "the dropsies" and get us a couple of victories.

Statistically speaking, it is already over. There are seven 0-2 teams and, historically, at best 1 is going to make the playoffs (and with New Orleans and the Colts being in that group, it isn't likely to be the Giants).
That's just statistics - and I'm watching every snap of every game no matter what happens. But, the Giants making the playoffs in 2014 is already a BIG LONG SHOT.
I'll take whatever though.
uh huh...

Look for Beckham on punt return duty mostly...

Isn't punt returns a little more stressful than lining up to run routes as a receiver? Unless he plans on fair catching it.

Maybe it'll happen, but I wouldn't put much stock in anything he doesn't just regurgitate from someone else.

Have you been watching? The line blocked significantly better against the Cards. They're a work in progress, and should show incremental improvement.
Although, given the usual tone of your posts, that may be too much positive news for you.
Yep. I think you'd have to cut Beason's leg off to keep him out of the lineup for very long during the season.
