coaching staff possibly see in Herzlich at this point and time in his career that makes them think he's worthy of being out there? His reads are awful, he's weak at the point of attack and he doesn't have the athleticism and speed to make up for his shortcomings? Other than that he's an All-Pro.
we saw what MacAdoos offense is supposed to look like, except the part where they blew it out their ass again. You can't put that on the QB or coaching, I'm sorry, you just can't.
If we ever figure out how to stop beating ourselves Â
Even when the offense is clicking and looking great we have to have someone fuck it up. This type of offense can't afford to turn over the ball. If the giants are going to turn it over like this they might as well be playing the high risk deep passing option route offense they used to use.
Of course Houston is missing their best offensive player in Foster, but still, the defense looks pretty good, along with Eli. Now if everyone else could just step up.
D is on their game, got a turnover. O is moving the ball. (And yeah, young players like Donnell will break your heart sometimes.) Things are going okay.
of the problem is that this team has no down field playmaker. We have no one who can take the top off the defense. Cruz might be able to, but the OL can't pass protect for that long. So we need more plays to score. More plays equals more chances for bad things to happen, including turnovers.
It's coming together and this bad luck can't last forever!
I agree that we've had awful luck as well as plays we normally do better at where for inexplicable reasons we fall apart or turn the ball over. Hopefully it evens out quickly.
I really believe the division will be tighter than everyone says. Because I don't even have to turn my head and the Redskins offense (with Kirk the Lion Cousins) is lighting them up.
D is on their game, got a turnover. O is moving the ball. (And yeah, young players like Donnell will break your heart sometimes.) Things are going okay.
But man, Williams looks like shit right now. No burst. Looks very hesitant. I know Hillis isn't a world beater but let's give him a few snaps. At least he's a receiving threat.
in the first half.Seems to me he can run this offense. At this point it's a matter of clearing up the turnovers and pass pro. I was just about expecting a longball bomb when one came. there is still a place in this offense for the long ball, and it's nice to see Eli capitalize on it. It was pretty to watch the offensive scheme open up the defense foer the deep pass.
D is on their game, got a turnover. O is moving the ball. (And yeah, young players like Donnell will break your heart sometimes.) Things are going okay.
Reminds me of the 70's all over again. It's the atmosphere around the team it permeates everything they are doing. Nothing less than a total house cleaning can fix this.
they outplayed the cards last week and lost. They are outplaying the texans and can't take a lead. They'll pull it out, have faith. sometimes a team has to learn how to win. now we see who steps up, or if the fold like a cheap suit. I think the giants win this. course, I was pretty sure they werre gonna win last week....
I am just going to wait and see how long it takes the Reese/Coughlin defenders to finally come around. How many years past our last Superbowl will it take?
I seriously DO light Coughlin but you have to question why he would keep Quinn for so long even after our special teams have sucked for years. Guaranteed Gilbride would still be here too if Mara did not force that change upon him.
Never heard hours name called before on TV... LOL.
he actually had another bad snap recently, don't remember if it was preseason or not. I know he had one last year. Wouldn't suprise me if he isn't on the roster next year.
Richburg is going to be a regular Pro-Browler, Pugh is also going to be very good. Eli has looked good this week and last and Jennings is also a good starting RB.
of the season. However, I was thinking about the game vs Detroit and all of their weapons. It occurred to me that we do not have a single player on our offense that should start over anyone on their offense. Not even Cruz because right now Tate > Cruz.
You have to ask yourself how a team like the Lions can have that collection of players and have the ability to pay them... yet we are near the bottom of the league in offensive talent.
Offense clicking, just can't get on the board, and penalties, turnovers and miscues are what's killing us.Makes you wonder if we stop beating ourselves how good we could actually be.
He has been superb this year and TE is a strength for us now. I still hold out hope that he and Robinson could develop into some kind of top TE tandem.
That comb to Randle into double coverage that missed was the Giants showing Houston they have absolutely no respect whatsoever for houstons defense.
Texans D is gonna be exhausted in the second half.
as good as the TD is that we executed a ST play correctly. Every phase of the game is very sharp, except ST. Put the mistakes behind us, and let's keep rolling.
Is a beast also best blitz by a giant lb in forever
Our last two drafts have been solid. It is 2008 to 2012 plus lack of solid UFA's this year (some of it due to injury to Thurmond, Schwartz) that is hurting us most.
or mislead people...If that pass play stood, Houston gets a huge completion and it shows up on the stat sheet as a long pass play by the QB. However, that play had little to do with the QB and everything to do with Hopkins.
The captain with the pick and big return. I can't tell if our defense is just amazing today or if the Texans offense just isn't that good. Probably a little of both.
Defense has played well this half, but he's... really not good.
But what's Houston Defense excuse because they are getting rough up at front.
I'm not sure what one has to do with the other, but part of that is that Watt's been a non-factor since he got dinged and without him dominating, with Clowney out, the rest of the bunch are getting exposed.
RE: They are holding the shit out of JPP on damn near every play Â
the non-dumbasses here knew that the Oline will take time to gel. Well, JJ Watt be damned because the line is getting better each game which is all you can ask!
Eli looks like he's finally having fun.
No more mistakes!
Let's fire Reese! Fire Coughlin! Replace the whole team!!!
now that they are starting to get it. Eli looks great not having to throw 12 yard outs on every throw. Looking for the swing pass to Jennings in the second half.
RE: RE: RE: I wish we could play Ryan Fitzpatrick every week. Â

Clowney who has barely played for the Texans is part of the reason? That's like saying the Giants offense is falling apart because Beckham hasn't took the field in 2014.
halftime for a second...and it seemed like they did nothing but talk shit about the Giants (aside from Tony Gonzalez). I think gonzalez said if Eli has time, he can deliver the ball and one of the guys next to him...can't think of his name, said "that's a big if".
Are they watching the game today or are they just stupid?
I don't want to know what happens during bi week Â

Uh, yes?
Much like the Giants need/ed their rookie WR to contribute, the Texans were banking on Clowney contributing, you know.
Him not playing, him not getting on the field and contributing while developing, hurts them just like Beckham being a non-factor has (and will continue to) hurt this team.
It's not some bizarre, out there foreign suggestion.

Why is that relevant. The half time crew had new information that they should have incorporated into their analysis. BBI before the game did not.
stand by the D! But that was really dumb by the Texans to go for it on fourth down on the first series out of the half, and on their side of the field. Especially against the Giants, given their propensity to implode.
the texans may even take a lead, but in truth it's over, Giants won this, broke the Texans Back. Texans knew they had to do something or get buried.Wasn't a bad call to go for it. Fact is they came out to start the second hald and got fucking stuffed., Was March or die time. they died.

It's different because they are paid for their opinions, and you expect them to adapt their opinions based on what they saw in the first half. Eli was great, the WR's played great, the O Line was great...

Special teams? Not so much.
What's worse is, it was as if they taped that before the season started. Everything they said you could say before the season, but barely any of it related to the last two weeks.
if D is going to lok like that in the second half we'll give this game away. I don't care what you say about Fitzpatrick, he's a competent enough QB to beat us and our shit Zone D!!!
Is god awful at pursuing the QB around the pocket. Constant miss tackles. So fucking frustrating every damn game. This defense can make Bledsoe look mobile.
gave up a FG. Relax. The Texans made adjustments, as someone noted. We have to do the same. And they have shown no ability to stop our running game. O'Brien himself basically conceded that fact by going for it on fourth down.
I agree. Randle needs to have a BIG PLAY deep kind of thing to open things up for everyone else. Houston's secondary is horrible. Our defense has gotten lax so we need to score points here.
time to play him...he has more smarts than Stevie C.C. Brown
C.C. Brown outright sucks. He never had speed in the first place now a torn ACL. He just can't recover if he takes a 1/2 step in the wrong direction even.
Other than Cruz, there's not one WR on this team that is a legitimate weapon or will draw double coverage. Donnell is a nice #2 TE, but he's forced to be a #1 on this team.
adjustments the Texans made are to hit us over the middle with quick slants, and go after Stevie Brown. Might be time to play Berhe. Brown is a real weak link.
Eagles 27-20.
Randle is much better going deep than he is in space Â
to see a throw or two into the end zone rather than short and lateral passes. D is backed up, packed into their end of the field and can react quickly leaving little time to make a move.
[quote]@art_stapleton: J.D. Walton showing the kind of physicality he has not shown yet with the Giants. Just went at it with Watt, flattening him after whistle.[quote]
We need Will Hill, big deal he smoked a few blunts. Don't act like you are above the green. Like my buddies Ricky G and Hick Nall say...pot is not a drug. Ridiculous. I'll take high Will Hill on drugs over Stevie Clown brown.
Other than Cruz, there's not one WR on this team that is a legitimate weapon or will draw double coverage. Donnell is a nice #2 TE, but he's forced to be a #1 on this team.
Have you been watching the first 3 games?
It wasn't dumb, he was sitting in their for a first down Â

Have you been watching the first 3 games?
Yeh, have you? Our WRs besides Cruz, are pedestrian. Fells and Robinson suck and wouldn't make most NFL rosters.
The Giants have about 3 minutes more TOP than the Texans do.
If the defense is gased at this point, their endurance sucks.
There is little rotation for some of the positions of the Giants D for various factors. Many of them take all snaps. So yes getting gas is a factor.
If a defense is getting gassed when their team is actually winning the TOP battle by almost 3 minutes heading into the fourth quarter, then there is something wrong with the defense. They significantly lack talent, conditioning, something because that's a good hand dealt by almost any standard.
There have been plenty of times over the past calendar year that the offense has done the defense dirty in that regard; today is not one of them.
Other than Cruz, there's not one WR on this team that is a legitimate weapon or will draw double coverage. Donnell is a nice #2 TE, but he's forced to be a #1 on this team.

I was talking about our TE. He has been very good. Doesn't look like a #2 to me. He does to u? Crazy.
Edelman is looking like a killer this year. We had him in last off-season or was it the offseason before. Too bad we couldn't lock him up while he was here.
Moore is quick and has long hands! Tremendous play!!!
Now the Giants, with momentum, need to get the ball in the endzone. Would love to see Donnell just dominate with size and become our redzone threat guy.
don't think anyone touched him until he was ten yards downfield. When was the last time we saw this kind of dominance on both sides of the LOS by the Giants?
Playing with an edge. Richburg looks like a monster out there. Pugh and Walton have been very good. Beatty has been pretty good. Jerry has been pedestrian as usual. But that's an improvement for him.
I actually saw some blocking from him today, but he has to hold onto the football. He's had one ah shit in every game so far, but he should get better.
I like that they went for the jugular on that series Â
I could have sworn they were gonna run a shotgun draw on 3rd and 4 to "settle" for a field goal...I have to get used to the fact that the Mustache is no longer on the sideline.
I actually saw some blocking from him today, but he has to hold onto the football. He's had one ah shit in every game so far, but he should get better.
Donnell has good combination of size and skill. His blocking is okay. I see him as more of a #2 TE which is fine. This team still needs a legit #1 TE. Donnell isn't that in my opinion. But he's a nice player.
Eli should sit also. No need to keep key starters out there, especially with a short week.
I concur. Play our backups the last series. I mean, Pierre-Paul is down right now with 4 minutes left. Prince with great coverage but Hopkins still get the dang catch.
straight ... yet I suspect there are still Manning doubters who think Manning played badly last year and that other QB would have done so much better for the Giants during 2013.
@Connor_J_Hughes: As long as Manning doesn’t thrown an interception in the final 1:29, it’ll be his first interception-free game since Dec. 24, 2013. #Giants

How many games has he played since Dec 24, 2013? 3?

30 to 17 and it wasn't that close. We had two huge blunders we had to overcome that would of at least gave us two more field goals and the Reffs arbitrarily deciding when to throw flags.
Just win, baby
Good. I hope it gets worse
Go Giants!!!!!!
2. Get a turnover
This offensive line will be JJ Watt's property.
Our TEs don't block. Neither apparently do our OL.
wow
because they went up against our potent offense all training camp? Houston averaging 7.3 yards per carry.
You know what'll happen
JPP is a monster.
Prince!
A TURNOVER?????
2. Get a turnover
There's #1.
Paysinger has fallen off a cliff? What happened?
He was the starter last season.
You know what'll happen
We know you are not a Giants fan
+1
Redskins 7-0 over the Eagles.
But it was legit. Nice.
This is what the offense is supposed to look like!
Doh!
Bingo!

Eli could have thrown it better
That has nothing to do with protection. You try to prevent your hands giving way from a direct hit by a butt of an helmet.
6/6 37 yards
Bad offensive line, no name clowns who fumble the ball, might as well turn this off so my blood pressure doesn't go up. Nice tackling, btw.
Washington and Philly tied.

And now DeOssie is in on the ST fuck ups. Bad HS teams have better ST.
Redskins 14-7.
can't make this shit up folks.
I'm trying. I'm really trying.
Im not a Quinn fan, but come on, how is that on him?
I don't think Houston will have much success threw the air against us but eventually there run game will light up some behind that solid OL.
If Giants go 0-3 after today you have to say it is over as far as playoffs go.
Give up an easy first down on a fake punt...
Then they completely fuck up a field goal? I can't recall the last time I saw something this atrocious. At least the O and D showed up so far.

Derek Jeter would have been a better option to field that snap.
WFF
Yea that play kinda sucked.
Can't blame Eli Manning for this one
Stupidity
Why are you at an Eagles' bar?
Yes, because a rapist QB is going to fix what ails this team right now.
I seriously DO light Coughlin but you have to question why he would keep Quinn for so long even after our special teams have sucked for years. Guaranteed Gilbride would still be here too if Mara did not force that change upon him.
I honestly laughed like a madman. You just knew somehow they would fuck up. But you never know how. It's exciting watching our special teams lol.
Cousins 12-13, 128, 2TD.
This does not look good. Now backed up Watt will be bringing it.

And everyone around me just laughed.

Tell them 4-0. I think they will shut the fuck up.
I mean wide open......
I want the love if this happens...I am talking 28-0 Giants, at the half
They're not. Kelly pretty much took over parts of Reid's team that was among the worst. Coaching matters in this league.
I long for the 3 games he showed up for.
You have to ask yourself how a team like the Lions can have that collection of players and have the ability to pay them... yet we are near the bottom of the league in offensive talent.
Defense really swarming to the ball.
Who is going to start the "fire Quinn" petition?
Come on, it's still there to win. 0-0. Let's go Giants!
STs not helping again today. Defense doing its job so far and O is at least competent, except for one big turnover.
It's one thing to suck; it's another to be an undisciplined, sloppy mess without end.
There we go!
And they score more than 14 today. Win baby Win.

GOOOOO GIANTS!!!
Texans D is gonna be exhausted in the second half.
Ugh...I know I know....
At this point they may skip the 3rd commercial
Another running back down fir the GMEN Thursday.
LOL
Yeah, that was a totally typical catch.
THEY AIN'T PASSING.. NO WAY THEY PASS.
GLAD I WAS WRONG ROLLE!!!! INTO!
This.
What we cannot do is letup in the second half.
This!
Agreed
Need to keep them off the board heading into half.
But what's Houston Defense excuse because they are getting rough up at front.
It really is.
Actually, Jerry has been ok. Whole oline stepping up today. Need to continue to gell.

Putting Eli or Rolle on this list shows what a fucking idiot you are.
Eli looks like he's finally having fun.
No more mistakes!
Let's fire Reese! Fire Coughlin! Replace the whole team!!!

I think the LB'ers just had a bad series there

This. Still frustrating that Fitzpatrick was able to scramble like he did, especially away from Williams. We were fortunate Johnson dropped that pass.
Agreed..if I was the Texans, i do the same thing...imagine coming up empty being that close? It's basically the game for them
Start getting gas and mistakes have negative impacts.

I agree, but this is how Coughlin teams are always going to play in second halves when they're up.
It's way too late to expect change now, no matter how many times it bites them.
At least Fewell waited for the Giants to be ahead before he went to the Fail-Zone.
Stevie Brown with the gifts..

Running thr ball to kill the clock. I hate when we do this fuckin Coughlin. Run the same shit that was tearing their defense up.
Going bush league like we did last game, against the Cards.
They also want to give the Giants D a breather.
How did that fucking breather go??
Meanwhile they scored. Now we need to flip the switch again. Fucking stupid series.
Don't know about you guys but I think it's pretty clear Stevie Brown is not very good at recognizing what his responsibility is.
If the defense is gased at this point, their endurance sucks.
I honestly can't remember the last time this team looked good for 60 minutes

He is brutal. Along with 3/4 of our LB corps. Maybe it's time to give Fox a few snaps. We don't exactly have a choice. There's nobody else left.
And the crazy thing is he could easily be 20 for 22. There were 3 bad drops by receivers.
I love his system in regards to that. I wish he can get more TDs.

There is little rotation for some of the positions of the Giants D for various factors. Many of them take all snaps. So yes getting gas is a factor.
Why not run on 3rd and 2?
Or at least have a back in the backfield??
Eagles 27-20.
It ain't the NCAA
Have you been watching the first 3 games?
Agree on that assessment.

Other than Cruz, there's not one WR on this team that is a legitimate weapon or will draw double coverage. Donnell is a nice #2 TE, but he's forced to be a #1 on this team.
Have you been watching the first 3 games?
Yeh, have you? Our WRs besides Cruz, are pedestrian. Fells and Robinson suck and wouldn't make most NFL rosters.

The Giants have about 3 minutes more TOP than the Texans do.

If a defense is getting gassed when their team is actually winning the TOP battle by almost 3 minutes heading into the fourth quarter, then there is something wrong with the defense. They significantly lack talent, conditioning, something because that's a good hand dealt by almost any standard.
There have been plenty of times over the past calendar year that the offense has done the defense dirty in that regard; today is not one of them.
and that would be incredibly stupid because we don't have great depth.

I was talking about our TE. He has been very good. Doesn't look like a #2 to me. He does to u? Crazy.
He wasn't moving that much
This.

This is why he doesn't play
Hmmm,mmmmm
This.
Now the Giants, with momentum, need to get the ball in the endzone. Would love to see Donnell just dominate with size and become our redzone threat guy.
textbook
Way to go, Moore!

OK. He made up for losing contain. WE MADE A ST PLAY!
LOL
Would have been better to see someone UNDER Beatty instead of seeing him laying on his stomach all alone. LOL
great catch!!!
great catch!!!
Right? Talk about a small window....wow, just wow
Hope Prince is OK. Saw Kiwi standing on the sideline. He looked fine.

for the "we don't have any TE's" whining
...they still can't block worth a shit.
Yes. But just to protect Eli!
21-27, 234 yards, 2 TDs, 77.8 %, 127.5 QB Rating
Three INTS is why Fitzpatrick had only thrown the ball forty times this year.
WOW
TIKI LIKE.

Fuck yes!!! Another TD please.
I'm not a Randle fan but he was held like crazy on that play. Should've been a flag thrown there. There would've been if the score was closer.
A special kind of guy.
Donnell has good combination of size and skill. His blocking is okay. I see him as more of a #2 TE which is fine. This team still needs a legit #1 TE. Donnell isn't that in my opinion. But he's a nice player.
wow just bad
Zebras 7
Use Williams here in the last 2 minutes since Texans know we are going to run it anyway. LOL!
Since when is Fitzpatrick a statue? He isn't Rodgers or Griffin, but he has always been a pretty good runner.
Crappy time frame.

@Connor_J_Hughes: As long as Manning doesn’t thrown an interception in the final 1:29, it’ll be his first interception-free game since Dec. 24, 2013. #Giants
How many games has he played since Dec 24, 2013? 3?
Ernie accorsi thought so too. :)

Lies, damned lies, and statistics.
