IMO JPP was the biggest defensive wild card going into the season. We have some very good defensive players but he's the only one who has dominating, all pro, game wrecking ability.
So far, how do people think he's playing?
I think he's playing better than he has since 2011. I dont think we're going to see him be a 16 sack guy again - he's just not refined enough and doesn't have that elite get off to beat double teams - but he's still been very disruptive.
Agreed. I'm a broken record on this but IMO the sooner Moore wins a DE job and they bounce JPP over to LE the better.
He is so close to sacks on so many occasions this year that they are going to come. Plus, he has gone against 2 very good LT thus far
he looks like a legit very good DE.
he will need to do what Strahan did, he too experienced a few down years after a great career start, and became a master at his position that went beynd his talent
JPP is still relying on his talent.
A line of him, Hankins, Moore and Jenkins with the secondary we have (sub Berhe for Brown) I think can do quite a bit to mask our LB core. We really need Beason back. Williams had a decent game today as well although I wasn't focusing on him.

I think his 2011 stats had more to do with the fact he was playing opposite Tuck.
I don't agree. Damontre Moore collapses the pocket.

And Osi. The guy is playing awesome right now.
I love the way he is hustling, defending the run, batting down passes, and bull-rushing tackles.
I'm still slightly disappointed in him as a pass rusher, he's just so raw and often times he gets off the line super slow almost anticipating the run. But I feel like the jump he's getting off the snap is really going to allow him to get in a groove rushing the passer at some point in this season. I feel a 5 sacks in 3 games kind of stretch coming up for him soon.

but he has no other legitimate pass rushers to help him

Damontre needs more snaps. TC and Perry need to unleash him, even if he gets the old habit Osi used to have when he overran the play. Once Damontre is playing most of the snaps I'll agree
