it took me a while to figure out who #34 was playing deep safety (nat berhe, not Derrick ward) after that play. I guess TC and Fewell had seen enough of Brown getting beat!
would love to have Cooper Taylor right now. Guy just can't stay healthy.
Cutting Will Hill was absolutely the right move. Tons and tons of chances. The Giants did everything they could to help him, and he kept getting suspended.
He was never a really quick guy.. but since he's been back from the ACL, he's been really slow. There is no recovery speed at all. If he makes a bad cut or read, it's over.. he's beat.
We are not in good shape at S this year unless Berhe winds up being a find. Rolle is really all we have.
Running 3 safety sets last year with Rolle, Hill and Mundy were very effective last year. It sucks we can't do it this year because we don't even have 2 legit safeties let alone 3.

I thought the same thing. Brown was fixed the defensive right side way too long. When he he glanced back you could see the oh shit reaction. IMHO
Will Hill sat in meetings with John Mara and Jerry Reese and TC and told them unto their fucking faces he would never fail a drug test again, and he did. Know if you are some kind of schmuck employer that after your employee fucks up multiple times, and came to you as a known fuck up when he was hired and you made it fuckign crystal clear he was on his last leg and out of chances and he screwed up again in the exact same way you warned him about, and a nartionally visible warning at that, one that was printed in the newspapers you're telling me you would give him another chance? at that point you're a chump, and if the guy were to embezzle you and ruin your business, destroy your credibility, company morale or spread fucking plague in the office you deserve it. Noone with an ounce of self respect or integrity keeps a guy after that. period. ever. nowhere.Unless he likes it up the ass.In which case he practically asked for it when he showed his warnings were empty and he was in fact toothless, and the employee in fact was in charge.

Before we get into anything here, you need to use some better spacing and you need to calm down. No need to swear big boy.
That's a shitty analogy you made for a number of reasons. Namely, Hill is not a bad person and never did anything to harm anyone other than himself. If JR and co really wanted to take a moral stand, they should have cut him before finding the result of his appeal. If they're going to wait for the appeal, they may as well just lived with the measly four games and then have a better secondary.
and not to be a know-it-all dick, but once Beason and Hill were stalwarts in the D last year, the Giants (around week 7) did not run nearly as many 3 safety sets as past seasons.
In fact, Mundy's snaps drastically reduced once Beason and Hill were inserted into the lineup and acclimated.
which made me think many of the three safety formations maybe were because of a lack of LB talent. I don't know, but the stats are the stats. Could also be the string of backup QB's the Giants played they didn't feel passing was a major threat.
Other than the Detroit game where all three, Hill, Rolle, Mundy played every snap.
rarely have such a litany of problems. Players like Hill eventually screw up, and then are gone for a long time.
I can't really think of too many people given as many chances as he has to flourish afterwards. Maybe Randy Moss, but even his issues pale in comparison to Hill.
Brown's problem is more related to his vision, not speed. He has tunnel vision a lot and only sees the underneath routes instead of the entire field and the potential deeper routes from across the other side of the field.
On that deep TD, if Fitzpatrick had gone to the underneath route (I think Andre Johnson), Brown would have been in good position for an INT.
That was the problem two years ago, QBs were making poor decisions, and Brown was being rewarded for his constantly being out of position.

So once he screws up and is gone for a long time they can get rid of him. A 4 game suspension for second hand smoke is not a major offense.
is an asshole. He could have been a big star in the biggest media market. He was too fucking selfish, irresponsible, and stupid to take advantage of it.
I'm not sure what I'm looking at on that chart.. are the snap counts the snap counts where we had 3 safeties on the field?
that's just Mundy's snap counts. Hill and Rolle played practically every down of every game they were active.
When the Giants ran 3 safety with Grant, Rolle, and KP in 2011 it was almost every down.
Rolle, KP, and Grant were all in the top 5 on the D in # of snaps.
Just saying I don't think they ran a lot of 3 safety looks last year and the evidence is Mundy wasn't on the field a lot (comparatively speaking) with Hill.
Well that's what he claimed. Even if he smoked a little weed I dont really care.
I care if he's on the list to get suspended for doing it. Keep your fucking nose clean and don't be a stupid shithead and be a star. Too much to ask. Fuck him.
Pretty soon smoking weed will be legalized Nation wide and he'll be an All Pro in Baltimore.....and we'll have Steve Brown limping around in center field.

Got it.
I guess since we ran 3 safeties on every down against DET in the last game, I thought they had been doing it more than they were. That coupled with him having done it in 2011 with Rolle, Phillips and Grant and I think he did it a bit in 2010 as well.
I guess it's not something we've used as much as I had thought but it seemed to be something we've gone to in certain situations/games and we just don't even have that freedom at all this year because we're so thin at S. Going into the year it felt like we had plenty of depth there but we really only have one guy we can rely on (Rolle)
I guess part of it depends on the personnel available to fewell, if Hill were on the team who knows, maybe Rolle, Hill and Brown would be out there every snap.
I just remember noticing Mundy's disappearance last year coincided with Hill's return and the Beason trade.
Stevie Brown is not the answer at safety.
just an FYI...I wouldn't have known him by number either.
Outstanding.
The guy has had so many chances in the pros and in college and has yet to learn or change his ways.
He needs a wake-up call.
Guys like him might have one more good year, and then - BOOM - they are gone for good.
I'd settle for him being in the right place.
Cutting Will Hill was absolutely the right move. Tons and tons of chances. The Giants did everything they could to help him, and he kept getting suspended.
Being too slow is, sadly, uncorrectable...but there is no excuse for a safety to bite like that on a run fake with a 14 point 2nd half lead. Cripes

how many chances and benefits of the doubt are you going to give a guy? He had multiple chances to right the ship. He is a bum

It wasn't the reason, so, there's that.
It was just the last straw

So they took an arbitrary moral stand which hurt themselves on the football field? Pass.

Even though he sat across the table from ownership, looked them in the eyes and told them that he wouldn't?

Hill wouldn't be out there right now anyway, but if Hill hadn't screwed up, Brown might have been on the PUP or IR list this year.
