play last in the game.
Houston has cut the score from 17-0 to 17-10. Giants respond with nice drive. Get inside red zone. He tries to hit Rueben Randle on a short curl on third down...two Houston defenders jump play...one was think INT and TD going the other way...and Houston lineman deflects ball away. (this is the play where the ball hung in the air).
Thank God the ball was deflected because that had pick 6 and 17-17 all over it.
you have plays like that though both ways (the Prince dropped pick) in every game. situation was different maybe, but the breaks go both ways eventually.
If Donnell doesn't fumble at the 3 the Giants would have been up 24-10. If they don't botch the FG then they would have been up 27-10. It goes both ways.
Think " The Great Snatch"
There is no luck in football!
Life's easier that way. Eli looked phenomenal today.
But I was shocked it went through. He did too Cruz either last game or the Lions game.
Today for the 2nd TD was an unreal throw to a place where only your TE can get it. It was a perfect throw.
So I am not sure what the end result would have been. It could very well be picked off, or very well gotten through for a great pass... what wouldn't surprise me is if RR dropped the ball, lol.
Exactly DK. Too much good to focus on luck

Sometimes a ball bounces off a TE's foot and turns into an INT when it should be a simple incomplete pass... sometimes you get lucky and a bad throw doesn't turn into an INT. Things usually balance out for the most part.

Exactly. Happens every single week, multiple times in every single game.

Yup you can cherry pick every game and find these moments.
Let's just enjoy the win.
But hey - lesson learned, right?
No - Giants continue to run it down Houston's throat on the way to 24-10 but after ripping off two runs to make it 3rd and 2 again, throw another incompletion and keep Houston in it.
I do not care if everyone on earth knows what is coming, when Houston cannot stop a Pop Warner team and you need 2 yards to close it out early in the 3rd you run it. And when you stupidly don't the first time, you have the brains to do it the second time.
But there the Giants need to make it a 2 score game again. Re-watch the play...it should have been picked off. Great day by Eli. Very proud of him. But thank God that ball was tipped.
As soon as the ball went up, I put my head down. Another Damn int. I was shocked to see the ball hit the ground. Normally that shit doesn't happen. Normally it's, " And Eli Manning with another game with an interception."

His initial decision did not look good, but always tough to tell in slow motion.
I am just hoping he keeps it going.
Some posters need to be tarred and feathered. Really.
But Eli has thrown a lot of INTs near the goaline. So I don't think Eric is wrong to point this one out
And it's definitely not an arm strength issue, because on one of the plays (I believe in the second quarter), he subsequently followed it up with a rifle of a pass on the next play.
No harm was done yesterday, but it's a quirk I'd like to see fixed. Maybe it's deliberate. A few times he did it when a receiver was wide open - but it gave the defender time to close the gap and prevent significant YAC.

I trust you, cause of your experience with floating balls
The scary thing is how often he puts the ball in a position where he has to depend on luck.
One thing I have noticed is the ball isn't getting thrown into the end zone enough, particulary on 3rd downs when the FG is kind of already spoken for in terms of distance.
