PFF participation stats and ratings from yesterday

pjcas18 : 9/22/2014 9:12 am
As usual I'll say I like this for the participation stats more than the ratings for example, this was Eli's worst rating of the season. And I can't rationalize that, so I don't try. the ratings are what they are - an opinion.

Offense:

Defense:
NFL.com split the McClain sack between McClain and Hankins, PFF has it as McClain only in case anyone cares.

I like PFF

but a .5 for Eli's performance and a -.5 for Jennings. Come on.
This is the reason

why advance stats suck in some aspects. Your telling me that yesterday was Eli's worst game of the year?
would love to know the methodology behind these ratings
fbdad : 9/22/2014 9:18 am : link
I thought McClain played pretty well. Can't believe he scored out worse against the run than Williams
they confused me as well

probably eli's best since mid 2012...
I dont consider their rating an advanced stat
MarshallOnMontana : 9/22/2014 9:22 am : link
Its just a guys opinion, and the least useful info pff offers. Some of the actual advanced stats they keep though are things the nfl is long over due to track officially

by the way, thanks for posting these every week pj
Weird ratings for Eli and Jennings to be sure

I think this is the second game where Beatty was the highest rated player on the team though. He's playing well this year and what a gift that's been.
interesting to see the D-Line snaps

seemed like Patterson and Hankins were out there more...probably b/c they were involved in a lot of plays when they were in there

Meant to say Jenkins and Hankins
Nice to see

Donnell with a positive Run Blocking grade.
Kuhn is in for only 13 snaps and gets 1 QB hurry.
Bobby Epps : 9/22/2014 9:59 am : link
He winds up with -0.6?
whole oline with positive grades....
Simms11 : 9/22/2014 10:42 am : link
deservedly so. Hopefully that continues, especially this week.
would like to Hynoski get positive
Simms11 : 9/22/2014 10:45 am : link
blocking grades. Hope they get him some passes soon. I think he can add another dimension to O. I thought that's why they kept him over Conner?!
Robert Ayers has been a smart and effective pickup.

Giants are ranked #2 on overall defense by PFF's ratings
sjnyfan : 9/22/2014 11:04 am : link
Glad to see Herzlich FINALLY play at SLB vs MLB. Not a stud or anything but he was certainly more effective there and the ratings show that.

Nice to see the entire O Line in the positive. Beatty has bounced back nicely so far (as many of us here expected)
#1 in run defense

Can someone post these stats in a different format?
Pete in VA : 9/22/2014 11:19 am : link
I'm interested in the participation stats. For some reason, the stats in the original post don't show up for me. An IE issue or somehow blocked here at work (maybe it's a facebook post?)

In any event, thanks.
I hate that people read these "ratings"
kmed : 9/22/2014 11:23 am : link
and recite them like they are facts. It's so stupid.

Its a fact
WideRight : 9/22/2014 11:52 am : link
Mark Herzlich scored the same as Victor Cruz (1.3) and significantly outplayed Eli Manning (0.5)
More importantly,
kmed : 9/22/2014 11:58 am : link
it's a fact that Jennings, who ran all over the place despite not having massive holes, only played ok.
