very promising when your money guys play like money...

Its nice to win, its nice to see the team play well, but what gave me hope for the season was impact of the money guys.

NFL rosters are big. Depth matters. You need a lot of 'good' players, but what you REALLY need to win are your impact players to impress their will on the game.

Who are the money guys on the Giants?
Skills: Eli, Cruz, Jennings, Beckham
OL: Beatty, Pugh
D: JPP, Rolle, DRC, Prince

Football players age in dog years, and its seemed like a really time since we saw Cruz, Rolle, Eli or anyone on the OL not named Snee impressing their will on a game in a fashion that tells you the Giants have the elite talent to make a noisy playoff run in the NFL.

Winning is always nice, but yesterday we had a couple guys on the OL along with Eli, Cruz and Jennings that took one of the best defenders in the NFL out of the game and simply impressed their will on the Texan's defenders.

On defense Im a bit less ra-ra. Nothing negative, but there wasnt much about their offense that scares you. That being said what you want to see is JPP and Rolle go out and beast when and play like they are the most talented guys on the field, and they surely showed that yesterday.

Its nice when you get contributions from backups and the depth on the roster, but the future and success of this team depends on the guys who are being paid to be the building blocks and with the obvious exception of ODBjr those building blocks looked damn solid yesterday.

Washington is a pain. They always seem to bring the worst out in the Giants and this game has letdown written all over it. Lets see if these guys can go in there and come away with a 2nd win in 5 days. Time will tell but hopefully this is a sign of things to come from the talent base this team is depending on to take them back to an elite level.
