It will fun to watch to see if they fall apart in December.
The big issues coming from college was Oregon plays their starters a half most games and have 70+ active players.
Also college does not have players in their 30's with 10 years of NFL wear.
With a 10 game schedule in the same amount of time as an NFL season.
I would assume Kelley could not expect the same from an NFL team and would change how he practices.
What a moron this guy is. So they are so burned out that they are starting off games slow, but then they keep coming back and dominating late? Makes no fucking sense.
That whole system is based off of running more plays than everyone else and keeping a very high speed pace. Whats the most important thing? Stamina. No shit the practices are hard.
kmed is more right than this moron. Their ability to outplay opponents late is more indicative of a good training regimen. Did practicing too hard make Desean Jackson run right past him? This team is pretty good but their superior fitness is making them very good. it sucks

If they are mentally and physically fatigued entering a game, it could lead to slow starts and improvement later in the game as the competitive juices and adrenalin start flowing. Not saying that is what it is, but it could be possible explanation for that.

That was his point. And it was similar anonymous rumblings last season. He did the right thing and put his name to it.
NFL policy dictates that these guys speak with the media. That's one thing I never understood, you force them to talk to the media and then get upset when they say something you may not like.
both talked about the practice schedule being difficult.
It brought about some change and middle ground.
The pace they move at might wear them down and force mistakes.
Kelley's system never won a national championship and they always lost a late game to a grinding mental tough team.
that Oregon was always a below average pac 10 team until Kelleys arrival. He turned around as soon as he got there as OC. I do agree with fewer players playing in the NFL has to hurt his hurry up system because he doesn't have as many players to substitute in.
improved since 88'
But the point is his system did not win a championship and would lose one game a year to a team that seemed mental tougher.
I think the system will wear players out especially older players who need longer recovery time.
as I was leaving Met Life yesterday, they were showing the fourth quarter of this game on the outside scoreboards.
Foles threw a pass down the sideline for Brent Celick, who I know isn't the fastest guy, but he looked like he was moving in quicksand!!! The play was so slow.
I thought there is a restriction on the amount of practices can have in the new CBA? How much more can the Eagles being doing to burn out players already?

Kelly runs uptempo practice from beginning to end. The 12 second rule, players not allowed to rotate out as much. Everything is in hurry up offense so the defense also has to play as such.
even they recognize the douche baggery. Media loves him though because he can always be counted on to say something dumb or controversial.
Quote:
"I'm burnt out. Burnt out. I'm not the only guy that feels burnt out. I'm just a guy that's man enough to stand up for players and just say that we're burnt out. My legs hurt. My legs were done in the fourth quarter. My legs were done in the third quarter. My legs were done before the game started."
"Something has to be modified and something has to be changed, and I'm not afraid to say, 'Hey look, that's what needs to be done,'. I'm not hurting anybody. I just know what this locker room feels like. I know what the guy to the left of me, to the right of me, feels like. I know what it's like, so I'm in close connection with these guys. It's not just an individual game. It's a team game."
So you know the guys in the locker room? Feel qualified to speak for them? You say you're "man enough to stand up" for your teammates? Because you recognize its a team game?
Bullshit dumbass. If you had more than half a dozen brain cells rattling around in the skull you would know what's best for the team would be to take those words to your coach, not the first reporter who sticks a mic in your face.
Little piece of unsolicited advice for Mr. Williams. If you have to tell people "I'm a man" there's a pretty good chance you're not acting like one.
i.e, the Eagles started to lose, the blow up/implosion potential would be enormous. I am sure most NFL players do not like to practice the way Kelly conducts his (which is one of the reasons Kelly seems to be a great coach), and would rebel at the first sign of weakness. Of course, as many have pointed out, Williams should have taken his grievances to the Coach, but I have no doubt it is true. I doubt the Eagles will start to lose consistently, but if they do, get the popcorn, it will be hysterical.
taken these complaints to my drill instructor at Parris Island in 1982. The training was just too much. Too hard.
Wah. I'd have a case if the Marine Corps wasn't paying me millions.
that's "burned out" it's sure odd that they are 3-0 with multiple second half comebacks and it's also odd they finish very strongly last year to win the division. It's almost as if the extra conditioning is giving them a little more endurance than other teams have.
let the good times begin
"We do things differently here. We play a game before the game," Williams said.

In 2006, Tiki did a similar thing.
He put his name to it. I'm not sure he went to the press with it if he was asked a direct question about his reasoning behind the bad starts.
That said, i love that it's being said. Any division is good divisoin.

Yeah, this is mostly just Cary being himself. He bitched about everything when he was in Baltimore, too.

I wonder if Eagles can boards have a poster who sarcastically says "Shut up Cary!" every time he says stupid shit like this.
Heh.
