Eagles fans might be bigger dicks - I don't know, never known many - but Redskins fans are just annoying. The team has been utter garbage for the better part of two decades and they still talk about them as if they're contenders every single goddamned year.
These fans are all jackasses, but where was security
At MetLife, there is a security guard always standing right to the entrance to my section. Last year, some Raiders fans started to get into it with a Giants fan in my row, the guard noticed, and out they went. No punches thrown. During night games, I have noticed State Troopers walking around.
It just boggles the mind that this group was allowed to get into it, throw punches, tumble down the stairs, THEN security shows up.
Kirk Cousins has already been crowned League MVP...
is to stop selling beer after the first half. Then arrest and ban people from all stadiums (kinda like a no-fly list) with a zero tolerance policy for visibly drunk people.

This is why I'll never go to a pro game again.
Don't they stop selling beer after halftime at Metlife?

That's a symptom of a larger problem. The Redskins PR department must have some former Soviet propaganda employees. Redskins fans always think their team is awesome.
a drug that aids is destroying more families, causes more violence and crime is legal, yet pot is not. If these douchebags were smoking weed at the game instead, this certainly would not have happened.
Haha. I work with a ton of Skins fans, and they are some of the worst football fans to talk to. If it wasn't them hanging their hat on the sweeping of the Giants during the 2011 season (did they forget that the Giants won the Super Bowl that year?), it's them talking about how Cousins is the best QB in the NFC East (I think they said the same thing about RGIII when the season started).
And the shit-talking has already started for this Thursday's game.
Last time I went to a game (Pre-RG3) the Redskins fans were so depressed by their team that about 10 guys in front of me were drunk (I was in Giants gear) and even though the Giants were up by 30 or so, they were doing the drunk "You guys are good, we suck but at least we're not the Cowboys" thing.
Some fans probably get drunk tailgating before the game and aren't really affected by the 2nd half no-sell. Maybe refuse admission to anyone who appears drunk or have breathalyzer checkpoints at the gates run by cops.
People, take sports to serious. We aren't getting paid, and We aren't playing. I heard a guy say yesterday, that he, "wish death on the cowboys!!" Really dude ? Over a game. Smh
at the old Giants Stadium Giants-Eagles games used to have so many fights. Ironically sitting next to me were two Eagles fans, and there was no fight. They were just upset about how poorly their team was performing (this was 2005, the year TO blew up in their faces and McNabb got hurt while Eli won the division in his 2nd year)
that could lead to physical violence. Take them to the gym and fight against the iron instead of some guy. You ll get the added bonus of looking better (not worse with a broken nose etc) later. Ive done this all of my life and never had a physical altercation

You can refuse entry anyway. If anyone is belligerent security absolutely has the ability to refuse entry. The problem is it's easy to hide being drunk for the 30 seconds needed to get in.
1) Alcohol sales are already banned after half time at all NFL events, I believe. Or is it after the 3rd quarter?
2) Either way, just ban alcohol sale period. The next step is ban tailgating. As much as it would suck for the masses who abide by the rules, it would certainly go a long way towards avoiding the incidents like this.
3) Security was on hand right from the start of the video. They got manhandled.
4) To me, the lowest part, is the guy in the Dockett jersey on the other side of the railing who seems like a spectator and then pops a guy being held by security.
same shit yesterday.. though it was kind of tame from other games
I went to a Cardinal game once in that stadium a few years back and you'd have to be the biggest asshole on earth to get into a brawl there. That's one of the most subdued fan bases you can ever be around.
1) Alcohol sales are already banned after half time at all NFL events, I believe. Or is it after the 3rd quarter?
At MetLife it's the beginning of the third quarter, but I believe the league rule is the end of the third quarter. (I also don't know how strictly they keep to it at MetLife).
1. The stadium is on the west side, which is pretty trashy for the most part. And that's by Arizona standards.
2. People here aren't use to having a solid team, so maybe they aren't the best at taking things in stride.
3. Beer pricing at the stadium encourages people to drink more. 22 oz bombers are only few bucks more than a 12 oz bud, so they are the best bang for your buck. 16 oz drafts are cheap too.
The guy in the Dockett jersey is hitting the other guy because he is choking the security guy. He is trying to get him to release his hand from the guys throat
But they do need to start screening people coming into the building. I'm not talking about the guy who had a couple of beers at the tailgate, I'm talking about the guys who you see barely capable of walking out of the porta-potty before they start making their way in. If you're already shitfaced before you make it to the front door, you should get turned away.
And I thought they cut off alcohol sales in the third quarter. If that's the case, they should make it earlier, and go to greater lengths not to serve people who are already inebriated.
Tons of drunks everywhere. Had to be extra careful of your surroundings post-game.
But every Giants game I've been to is like being at a Broadway show. Everyone around me was sitting down and quiet throughout most of the game. One time I yelled something out - no obscenities - and someone told me to shut up, he was trying to enjoy the game.
Some fans probably get drunk tailgating before the game and aren't really affected by the 2nd half no-sell. Maybe refuse admission to anyone who appears drunk or have breathalyzer checkpoints at the gates run by cops.
The buying of the beer at the games I don't think is the problem.
Think about it, when you are at the game, how many people do you see running to get beer and come back to their seat? It's far less than you see for baseball mainly because of the pace of play. There are no real "lulls" where you can take 10 to 15 minutes during the game to go get drinks. Some do it, but it's not a crazy amount.
I know at MetLife, parking lots are open anywhere from 4 to 5 hours ahead on gamedays. How much liquor can you take down in that period? That's where most of it goes down. By the time you get into the stadium, you are already tanked.
plain clothes cops in the stands to help stop this sort of thing.
Also, I'm not sure why but it seems the most violent fan base outside of Philly is San Fran. Every season there is a fight video out there involving 49er fans. Even the guy at the Dodger/Giants game.
how many people on this Board and in general feel the need to non-stop talk about how they won't go to games, or how great their tv is, etc.
this is obviously isolated, and even if happens a few times a year or whatever, it has little to do with whether or not you should attend games, really.
I went yesterday, as I do every week and I saw nothing inappropriate. I was a group of 6 kids and 4 adults, and the children ranged from 5 - 15 years old, and there was nothing but love for everyone, no cursing, no drunks.
The tailgaters next to us were calm, polite and kept to themselves.
Some in Lot E had a bounce castle set up and was letting kids take free jumps.
The Bud Stand where you can get a designated driver bracelet, gave us the 6 kids on our group free coupons for drinks.
Each kid got a "first game attended" certificate from the Giants, they have these stands all over the place where you can get these.
I rode the train home, and while it took a while, it was orderly and everyone was polite.
So if you don't want to go to the games because of something that happened on the upper tier of a game in AZ, something else is wrong with you.
They take pictures of every fan in every seat at every game, and can ID the fan by the ticket purchase or other means.
So the guy in the Gore shirt who was punching the shirtless guy when he was face down at the bottom of the stairs will almost certain be facing assualt charges. Pretty much everyone their will face something.
night game in DC and I swear I will never go to another road game that's not on a Sunday. I was in a Luxury Box and a$$holes were spitting and cursing at my daughter and I. The walk to the car was no picnic either. When you get these Monday night games or Thurs. games and Sun. nights, all the regular fans stay home due to work. Actions like this make you want to forgo going to games, and staying at home, and watching them on TV.
At least 3-4 times a game you'd hear a big swelling of noice over a section of the stadium. Looking over you'd see like 10-15 people swarming over one another like a shark feeding frenzy. When I was younger I found it awesome.
how the author can write this "At the :45 mark, check out the Cardinals fans in the No. 90 jersey punching someone in the head. The person he was punching was being held" after watching the video.
The guy that gets punched in the face has his hand around the throat of the security guard! 90 probably doesn't need to throw the second punch, but the first comes after trying to get the guy off the guard in the light blue shirt.

I had season seats in Giants Stadium for five years in the late seventies. In the forty games I attended I never saw one fight in the stands and maybe a handful of ugly incidents in the parking lot (none of which included punches being thrown).
I moved out west and attended three Giants games in Anaheim. Although everyone seemed well-behaved inside the stadium the parking lot was another story. After one game (94 I beleive) there were at least a dozen brawls in the parking field after the game. At the playoff game (83?)same story.

Can NOT stand skins fans. They are dumb on so many levels. I was at the bar yesterday here in DC, and it was like the second play of the game and some idiot was saying they needed a pick six right now! WTF? The game just started, great analysis.

Yeah the poor guy got bled on and choked until that one guy pops the guy choking him
Nasty stuff best avoided.

I think it's always situational at these games.
Plus it'll keep the idiots from getting up every two fucking minutes when the game is on.
Yeah, haven't been to a game in a decade and have absolutely zero reason to want to change that.
You can refuse entry anyway. If anyone is belligerent security absolutely has the ability to refuse entry. The problem is it's easy to hide being drunk for the 30 seconds needed to get in.

If it weren't for the social aspect of meeting my friends at the bar every Sunday, I'd probably do NFL rewind.

Are Giants fans better behaved? I think so.

you guys ever stand up for a fan of another team just minding his own business with his kid?
