40 but better than NFL-avg speed in 10 yds (1.54 which is faster than Will Hill in the same distance). If signed, not a bad pick-up this late , that is, after OTAs and pre-season games.
Guess the Giants have some concern about Stevie Brown and having a rookie, Berhe, play Safety.
At this point, he's probably more of a #3/4 safety and good special teams player which is what this team needs. Brown has looked slow and after that torn ACL, may never be the same player he was(he wasn't great to begin with). Demps is more of a return specialist and less of a true safety who can contribute. Berhe has potential but he's a rookie. If Lynch is healthy, I think signing him will be a big help. He can actually contribute right away on special teams and can be the 3rd safety this team needs with a few weeks of getting acclimated to the system.
One more injury and the Giants will be signing DBs off the street. The Colts released Lynch off IR, so if he's on the Giants' standby list, they needed to see what kind of shape he's in.
I posted at that time he was going to Indy first and then the Giants. He never made it past Indy. Started half the year for them and got to play in a playoff game.
He was slated to start this year but was IR'ed for back spasms for 6 weeks. He can be signed back by Indy week 7.
The contract gurus can explain how that works.
He has been cleared by his doctor.
Giunta and Merritt have always liked him. It's just never worked out for him to come to the Giants.
Still has to make it passed the team doctors before anything.
As I understand them, the injury settlement rules preclude him from re-signing with his previous team (Indy) until six weeks after the term of the settlement. Although he was IR'd in June, I don't think the injury-settlement clock starts running until Week 1. Would need to know how many weeks' pay he got to calculate the date for his possible return.
long shot here but were you involved with your Hazmat team? And did you ever take the Chemistry of Hazmat at Emmitsburg?
Short answer no.
I do incident management at large scale multi agency, muiti jurisdictional incidents. I've been IC at a few Hazmat incidents. I just got what ever resources they needed.
He ran a 4.58 at his pro day. I don't think he went to the combine. The site I'm linking below, said this and more -

Overview
Not since the playing days of All-American linebacker Dexter Coakley (1993-96) has a Mountaineer defensive player made the type of impact Lynch did at Appalachian State. A consummate playmaker, he ranks among the all-time leaders in NCAA Division 1-AA/Championship Subdivision history in tackles, blocked kicks, interceptions, interception return yardage and passes defended.
Lynch also ranks among the Southern Conference and school all-time elite in fumbles forced and fumbles recovered. He is the first ASU player to lead the team in interceptions all four seasons and the first Mountaineer to gain over 100 yards on interception returns in three seasons. On defense, he registered 93 tackles and 11 interceptions during his final campaign.
I told him that the offense started to come on sunday. Told him Brown was watching 2 short out routes on the defensive right site, not backing up with a purpose or his head on a swivel. Then he glanced over and you could see the OH SHIT and he couldn't recover. Told him the defense line was doing alright without Tuck because he asked. Don't have a line, backfield looks like shit.
Told him the division is wide open and if we win thursday night we will be 1 and 0 in the division.
Say what you will about the "Jesus Camp" scene. (I'm Jewish, so Lynch's off-field activities and connections to the Grahams mean nothing to me either way.) With Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson dominating the news, it doesn't hurt Lynch to have a squeaky-clean record. Works with teens, helps at ministry camps, etc. - ( New Window )
thread started yesterday. 5 guys were brought in. 3 weren't given a tryout. CL and 1 other competed in on field workouts. They then were sent home.
With the short week, if the Giants did anything they would have to pay him or whoever for the week. Players get the call after the sunday game to report on monday. Work week in the NFL is monday through sunday.
Given that we play on thursday, I don't know if they can bring someone in on friday or they have to wait until monday.
Those with more knowledge about NFL contract policy can answer that.
I will get a text if they call. I heard he did well in the tryouts. That's coming from a biased source though:)

Whatever happened to Demps at S?
Bring Kyle Sebetic back for a try-out?
His Dad started on the FD the same day I did. We worked together for 26 years. I was his Battalion for 18 of those years. Know the whole family.
Lynch does have at least one memorable highlight to his credit.

Made 1 in about 4 plays, not 1 in 5.
Either belittles the meaning of better.

Just a little tidbit for a monday

He married Sissy Graham, Billy Graham's granddaughter.
That trumps being a captain.
Does that mean he's white?
No he can't. that's obvious.
They'll be looking at more than Lynch.
Told him the division is wide open and if we win thursday night we will be 1 and 0 in the division.
