Anyone here ever been? We want to go next year for our honeymoon. We'll be there for one week and I was wondering what islands you would visit. The fiance really wants to do Bora Bora for sure. Don't know if we should just stay there the whole week or try to spend 3 nights on another island. We've heard Fakarava and Tikehau are awesome. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Depends on what you want to do

Surfing? - then Tahiti itself and Moorea
Scuba? - Rangiroa (great sharks) and Fakarava
Lounging around? - Bora Bora
I went to Moorea last year for a week

for the wedding of a close friend...we loved it there. It's definitely different than anywhere I'd ever traveled. Absolutely beautiful scenery, sort of like being on the island from Lost for a week.

Pros: Tons of activities, we went fishing, snorkeling, jet-skiing, swimming with dolphins and rays. Tons of beautiful romantic hideaways, they definitely cater to honeymooners. The food was OK - local food is all fresh fruit and fish, which I was fine with, but if you're looking for 5 star restaurants, you won't find many

Cons: This sort of depends on what you're looking for - there's not much nightlife or action to be found - if you're looking for a nightclub or crowds, you won't find it there (maybe on other islands, our experience was limited to Papeete in Tahiti and then Moorea). Also, outside of the nice resorts, it's pretty poor and dirty...we got to know a lot of locals, and I was kinda bummed to hear there's a lot of meth going around the poorer part of the population

My overriding feeling was, it was a great trip, and would be an awesome honeymoon spot. We had a fun mix of guys and girls at the wedding I went to, so almost every night we partied with the bride and groom at the resort and went night swimming, which was unreal out under the stars...we basically created our own nightlife
Did Moorea and Bora Bora for our Honeymoon in Oct a couple years ago

7 days in Moorea at the Hilton then 4 in Bora Bora at the Four Seasons.

We did Moorea as the activity part of the trip with ATVs, snorkeling, Stingray/Shark feeding, jet skiing, etc, and Bora Bora was the relaxing part.

Mooreas lagoon is more active than Bora Boras but Bora Bora's is prettier. Both islands have their charm and both are insanely beautiful. I wish we had more time on BB as it rained 2 of the 4 days we were there.

Highly suggest looking into a package for BB; we used Easy Tahiti - saved more than $1000 by bundling flights/meals/transfers etc.
Isn't that where they used to test their nuclear devices?
