Online play is decidedly higher scoring. I've only had a couple matches where I didn't score at least 4 goals, and have at least 3 in all of them.

Was beating the guy 2-0 and he quit. My finishing, as ever, was poor (Spanish curse) but I found it easier to maintain possession (75%). The instructions you can give players as part of a custom formation is a nice improvement over the basic attack/defend arrows of the past. I think maintaining possession in the midfield will be big in this version...bye bye 5-3-2, hello 4-2-3-1.

FMIC...Iniesta in a pack is a ridiculous find.

the best player I got in any pack last year was Chellini or Di Maria, so I went with an Italian squad - but I never pulled a player higher than 86 I think.

Need to change my strategy this year and build coins to get players instead of using packs. Iniesta will get me about 75,000 coins if I wait a little bit.

its been a while since I played anything other than regular matches on Fifa, so i'm not sure what other modes/roster options are available.

pre-ordering the ultimate team bundle and just put the same 10$ into just packs. I pulled Xavi and Fabregas, so I was pretty pumped.

it FUT (Ultimate Team), you get coins for each match you play and then there is a trading market to purchase/sell players, coaches, kits, stadia, consumables, etc.

You can also buy packs of players and each week there is a higher liklihood of getting a Tram of teh week player or other special cards. I found that last year, it was ridiculously difficult to get anything of worth and so I built my team with "cheap" players and was usually at a talent deficit against my opponents.

To get a Messi or a top guy, you sometimes have to spend something like 750,000 coins, which would require you to play 24/7 for the entire year:) But at least last year, pack were a horrendous value.

I plan this year to use my coins to make sales that will earn me more coins and use those to buy the guys I want. Hopefully I'll get lucky with packs. I get 40 of them as part of the Ultimate Team Edition.

I've been doing that for a couple years now. Still haven't perfected it, but while it's more difficult it allows you to play many more types of passes and shots.

of the cool things about this version is that you can take guys on "loan", i.e., play with Messi for 5 games and it doesnt cost very much

Haha yea. I forgot to mention that I got Remy also, who sold for 15k. The three of them brought me about 70k, so I had a lot of money to play with.

I play with manual controls. I was having guys get auto-switched and passes go awry with the semi-control, so I figured I'd go full plunge last year. Honed the skills in offline seasons or bronze games.

I only play career mode and maybe once in a while play an online game. Still cannot score from set pieces. Seems like there is improvement from past years, but every header goes way too high. I am really hoping this next one is a bug, because it is driving me crazy. My biggest complaint is when AI gets the ball, (besides intercepting a majority of my passes) they go straight for the corner and pass it into the box, every time. Like I said, I hope that gets addressed. It is kind of ruining the fun out of it and it gets tiring pretty quickly.
