Keep the defense honest on 3rd and long for later in the game? If they see we're still willing to run the ball in those situations they can't just pin their ears back and rush the passer.

I think also Eli saw something and thought he could get Jennings around a safety blitz for the first.
Has made. Not sure Wash doesn't really suck but who fucking cares. Would love to win this one going away. At this lint Jennings and Donnel are really showing up.
The biggest improvement of this offense, even as they struggled the first couple weeks, is that they don't keep settling for field goals. This offense under McAdoo knows how to get in the end zone when theyre in scoring range.
The right is definitely good, and the left looks to me like it was just barely down when he caught it before he picked it up. Very tough to overturn though once they called it out on the field.
Cousins and the Skins have thrown well on a lot of people this year. with beason, drc, and thurmond out, eli and the offense are the ones who need to step up

drive. Got a little lucky that there was still one second left to kick the FG, but we came all the way from inside our own twenty with 1:16 on the clock and two TOs.
Defense has to play a little better. TURNOVERS were nice, however, coverage still not great. Demps is no help back there. Have to continue to keep Morris under wraps too. Can't let him get going second halve adjustments on both sides will be big.
This team just found it. I don't know how. I didn't think it was possible but I make a public apology to Eli, TC and the rest. They look very much for real.
Parker has some balls with the punt returns and he's got some receiving skills too.
Larry donnell is good. Contorted for first touchdown and catches everything his way. Defenses must account for him. And Cruz may be benefiting from his growth.
Offensive line blocking well in both run and pass
Giants stopped themselves with penalty and a drop.
Donnell touchdown - Eli looked right before going to donnell. Might be the first time I noticed him look off a receiver.

Awesome last play from eli to cruz
About a perfect a half that we can expect. Let's hope defense can stay strong.
Why is Cowher disregarding Sander's on point comments about Eli and focusing in the rushing game? It was all Eli IMO. Jennings wasn't bad. The line blocked well for the run. But Eli is making this offense hum.
has been excellent. Eli was only sacked once, and that was right at the end when everyone knew we were throwing on every down. Eli has been incredible. That throw to Randle was fantastic. D has been stout, especially against Morris. But Demps is being abused.
Trudging back out with their heads down. A good start to the 2nd half is what we need. They're still in it, but a defensive stop and some points on O may break their spirit once and for all.
refusing to give Eli any credit at all. Sanders complimented Eli and cowher talked about Jennings toughness. Maybe he's bummed Coughlin might not get fired.
Its amazing man. I been saying this shit for years. I am so happy to see Eli in a new system. So far this offense is impressing me. The tempo is great. Its a big time credit to Eli to learn to systems which are polar opposite and excel. Imagine if we had this offense from the get go of Elis career. Can you imagine the reputation of him if he puts stats like this up religiously?
Man, I waited so long for this. Amazing night thus far. If Eli can get 2-3 MoRE TDs that would be a big statement to the league other fans and critics.
Put these clowns away. These guys are ready to be put to sleep. Â

Should not count as "incomplete." Guy can't catch, period. Secondary needs to sharpen up -- or maybe its poor LB play, can't tell which. But, with these reservations, the Giants are absolutely dominating. And, no, it didn't look there at the sideline, during the last time out, that Eli was listening to TC; he was trying to listen to McAdoo over the noise. Whatever, perfect call perfectly executed for 3 more at the end. Wow!

Apples and Oranges. McAdoo is not operating with last years shit show of (lack of) talent.
but playing Demps and Herzlich is mind numbling stupid.
Yea? Who's their awesome backup?
Well, all I saw the last 3 drives is the Redskins going at those 2. And them not coming close to stopping them. Brown is a better football player than Demps.

I'm seeing the same thing, but the point is that our roster is what it is. We're going to take our lumps there.
He says we will have neither drafted or signed a LBer. We don't need em he says.
Reese brought in decent LBers who were cut in favor of Herz and Paysinger. I highly doubt Reese is screaming that we need to keep Herz on this roster at all cost.
trying to keep Washington in the game. In the end zone all you need is 2 feet down with the ball and it's a TD. Randle had 2 feet down and the ball before he was hit
I'm having a hard time adjusting to this offense. I mean, for a decade now, when it's third and seven, I go and take a leak. Now I gotta cross my legs and wait. I can't take this. What is happening to my New York Giants!?!
With Donnell on the sideline in a power set the Giants motioned Hynoski into the backfield - had the Redskins thinking run the entire time until they tossed it to the backup TE. That kind of "ingenuity" in the redzone has been missing here for quite some time.
That was a TD catch that was ruled an INT! He had both feet down in the endzone which does not require a football move! Fuck these lying-thieving-wieny- licking announcers!
I been waiting for an OC to pad QB stats. Thank god we are not in the run, run, run, for score model anymore. Finally! An OC who will throw at the goal line.
The history of the NFL that gets BS interceptions than Eli? We have toe deflections etc, but this last one is so egregious you have to wonder if maybe a third SB MVP is in the future
breaking the plane does not apply. breaking the plane only applies to runners advancing the ball from the field of play to the end zone.
You have to complete the catch - that's 3 parts: possession, 2 feet and then make a move "common to the game" (what fans call a "football move", although that phrase is not in the rulebook)
you are actually not required to make a football move, you just have to possess the ball long enough to do so.
the sideline or endline catch is a different story and it covered by a different rule.
so I guess the rules expert had it right although this has been a pain in the ass since the calvin Johnson play

How was that not a completed catch? Caught the ball in the air, put both feet down, ball gets popped loose. What more is he required to do?

What defines a "football move" in the end zone? Running through the tunnel?
There is none. It was a catch. There is no forward progress anything. The timing thing is BS. Because players routinely put TD balls on the ground and are not penalize.

Except he made a football move to get in the end zone. He caught the ball, had two feet down and backed into the end zone.
that's possible..however keep in mind you have to do the move (or possess long enough to make a move) after you have accomplished the possession and two feet down (or any body part other than the feet) part of the catch. (rule book says this explicitly)

Somehow it was all so much simpler back in 1970. The quarterback threw the ball, the receiver caught the ball in his hands and went down with the ball still in his hands, and if he got up with the ball still in his hands it was a catch. If he got up without the ball it was an incompletion.
An apology. Eli was a monster in college running an offense like this
Yup, Cutcliffe's Ole Miss offense was mostly a short passing game because he didn't want Eli taking too many deep drops with Ole Miss's offensive line against most of those SEC defensive fronts
MM! Blasphemy! Big time QBs stay in and throw TDs.. Brees and Peyton and so on. Peyton stayed in for all 7. That's what I want for Eli . Keep him in and pad the ever living shit out of his numbers like other teams do for their QBs.
RE: We should all take the time to step back and appreciate Â
could have started Sammy Baugh, Sonny Jurgenson, Joe Theisman, any one of the jabronis Gibbs' won with in the 1980s or RG3 and they still would have gotten their assed kicked.
"over reaction" threads.. but are there really Eli haters??? The best QB in franchise history? The guy who won 2 SBs??
who are they? can we burn their cards??
PS, cousins is really not good.
In answer to your question, no there aren't. But when he plays badly, anyone daring to acknowledge it is termed a hater. Its great fun and in games like this they get to taunt, great fun.

umm, yes, there are many many Eli haters. It's a sad truth. they'll quiet down for a while, but they'll be back when the o-line struggles
We're up by a lot. Short week. Guy ran 1000 times on Sunday. Don't jump to conclusions please.
I said "I think"... and I'm not jumping to conclusions. I saw him take a HELL of a shot and I immediately thought he was hurt. And he hasn't taken the field since.
The end zone view looked like his head and shoulders broke the plane, but the ball was at his gut and did not reach the goal line. GLad they did not review it

We got Atlanta's high-powered O coming to town in 10 days..... Â
At Met life where Jacobs ran for like 100 yards on about 10 carries in the 1st half alone? It was bitterly cold and the Skins wanted no part of tackling him that day.
who after some early struggles, has played an excellent game. Hasn't gotten much work with the starters, but looks comfortable now. He's not a star, but very good job
Look at all the Giants fans taking over lower rows Â
So this is what it feels like when your franchise QB puts up stats like this and the offense is precision in nature. Fuck man that damn int sucks it falls in Elis column. However, I can get used to 3 and 4 TD games with sick completion percentages and high QB ratings week in and week out.

We can do both. No law against being amazing on offense and winning at the same time.
RE: Put these clowns away. These guys are ready to be put to sleep. Â
You're the man. MarshallOnMontana is probably looking for some way to put the blame on the Washington D instead of praising Eli for the dominant performance.
On McAdoo. What a dynamic offense. How many different players caught passes tonight?
Also without world-beaters at the WR position. We don't have a Megatron or Julio Jones at the X. Cruz is good but not in that class and the other receivers are still developing.
Donnell's meteoric rise is huge though. Pray for his health every day
GO GIANTS!
yep ty new nfl lol
for crying out loud
we were dealing right there.
what is going on with Cruz?
The game threads are all but gone.
Further proof that Cambells soup is too high in cholesterol to be a staple in an every day diet...
Yes, drops has always been Cruz's issue. He's always been guilty of running before he secures the catch.
Good call dep!!!!!
Nice play by Kiwi.
Steve Smith Sr or Demarius Moore will lead the league in drops
Sack, fumble, Jints ball...
Besides his Vince Young tackle this is it. Hahahahahajahja
Looks like he got up slowly. Hope he's OK.
I did too, but I still have like half my team on bye this week, so I'm hoping he catches like 4 more TDs.
lol.. I'm not sure Tolstoy mentions fumbles..

Like 40 yards back!?
I feel his energy fuels the offense.
Can we put to sleep the conversations suggesting Washington's backup is better than Eli now?
Just sayin...
Well, when seemingly 30-40 percent of our positive punt returns get called back by penalty, he may not be great at the coaching thing.
Thank god for the fair catch..
Can someone not drinking explain that to me?
I wouldn't be surprised if it is.
Not enough time with the Giants modified hurry up.

Try again, dbag.
Boy looks like ur right

Keep the defense honest on 3rd and long for later in the game? If they see we're still willing to run the ball in those situations they can't just pin their ears back and rush the passer.
No conspiracy theories?!

There was a WR near there.
PS: Big Bang Theory is the worst fucking show ever
And he almost turned into "Lieutenant Dan" there with that tackle to his knees
landed close enough to the receiver, i assume.
Ha, that's what I was thinking
It's set up, Skins looking run or Te over the middle...
The Ghost of Mr. Muir..... was in the vicinity.
TD GIANTS!

Nice times 2!
Fail to the Deadskins!
haha great post.
LOL! Perfect! :)
The best start possible, but we can't let up. Washington has playmakers.
hope he's back soon or that's no good
Redskins aren't that good.
But
Respect needs to be paid to the pollyannas
Namely giddie the god and bb56...
Let's see what happens when we play a good team. Great job against a top D last week though. I might be optimistic soon...
Thanks Jay Gruden for giving is some time for DRC to come back in!
yea it was a catch.
Right in the coyotes...
Lucky they didn't flag bowman

Brown was bad, but Demps is worse.
Inexcusable.
Holy shit, is Herzlich terrible or what?? As is Kuhn.
Demps is like a track star trying to play safety
It's insufferable.
He was playing deep, but had the TE. It looked like Rolle bit on the PA and lost his man.
Brown was bad, but Demps is worse.
Especially without DRC.
Demps is like a track star trying to play safety

+1
and now a williams drop
that being said, the giants need to stop having andre williams running out of the backfield
He's a douche.
Yeah we all know Williams has band hands. Eli should avoid throwing it to his hands.
Go Giants!
Not sure but he is coming off 34 carries on a short week
Maybe they want Williams to tire out the defense to kill them late in the game.
It's simply an offense oriented league now. Lots of points being scored. Finally we got with the program too! Love this offensive tempo!

What a night
Hat trick!
Whats the record for TD throws in a game? 6 was it?
Beat me by nano seconds. Lol
3 TD's for DONNELL and it's only the first half.
What's the Giants record for TD's to a TE ? In one game?
blitz w him
lololol
go for the jugular
no flag.
nonononono
pussification
this league gets stupider by the year.
I hope Coughlin rips him a new asshole for that helmet to helmet.
I hope he is ok but how what exactly was illegal and how was he defenseless?
I'm sorry as I don't want people injured but the NFL needs to "get it right". You wanna ring yourself by lowering your helmet in a 3 person collision.
fuck that
But effective.
Take Cousins out like that, game over. Fuck these pansies...
Put in Berhe, or even Brown. Demps is being annihilated.
HORRIBLE CALL! This is why Penalties NEED TO BE REVIEWED!
Got it.
Shouldn't be able to get the benefit of both.
What is REALLY worse is that I picked up this guy for one of my fantasy teams and now he is out of my lineup.
Football isn't football anymore. That kind of play is going to draw a flag, similar to the one that got Eli 15 yards earlier in the game.
Not saying I agree with it, but it is what it is.
And an illegal hit
Watch the game would you...
That's how you play defense.
Not sure what he can do short of putting Demps on the bench, their picking on him, and he's terrible.
So FY Refs!
Washed up goofy looking QB...
Agree
Absolutely!
2 steps completes the catch, illegal blow to the head means the penalty. If you couldn't see that, well, good luck with your hangover tomorrow.
Alright giddie, I'm comin back!
Holy shit.
loving it.
the right thing was to run the play first and use timeout since it won't limit where you can throw to
Did not understand the penalty on the long completion for the Redskins where two guys hit the receiver at the same time.
Giants are playing great!
You'll never hear me say Gilbride was a bad OC but I am glad we moved on. It was time.

Reese brought in decent LBers who were cut in favor of Herz and Paysinger. I highly doubt Reese is screaming that we need to keep Herz on this roster at all cost.
Any way, JPP penalty on last washington drive kept it alive. Our Defense looks slow and out of position far too much.
no no no.
anyone but him
Now punch it in Giants.
thanks coisins
cut herz, btw. just cut him.
me too.
Yeah he was a half yard off. Gotta hit that.
Cruz could have dragged that
Shit Rashad wide open!!??!!,
Thats a TD.
That should be a TD
GET THIS CALL RIGHT !!!!
No, you need to have possession and two feet down. We cannot see his feet from that view. Maybe another angle will be better.
thats not even close.
1. catch
2. break plane
3. 2 feet down
TD!
TD
Fuckin Eli, could any QB be this unlucky?
thats not even close.
1. catch
2. break plane
3. 2 feet down
Yup both feet hit before the ball popped out
if the catch is made inside the end zone, then the play's dead and over before that hit.
He caught the ball in the air, got two feet on the ground and immediately fumbled. They still called it a TD.
TD!
No football move required in the end zone, only possession is required with both feet down
That is so true
yup, that was a TD.
Bullshit.
Blame Randle. Focus on the failure to complete a task.
Fuck the refs.
Safety time
only Eli manning has shot like this happen to him
fuck this bullshit
the endzone is different
. Its instantaneously a td
Yes INT!
Thank you, Demps!
Just the worst replay call I've ever seen.
Awful!!!
Karma fuckers. Now score
Exactly
Blame Randle. Focus on the failure to complete a task.
You're an idiot.
That's going to piss me off to no end.
3 off body parts of players.
He deserves better.

he should've held onto it

Yes, he is. I don't blame Randle at all. That was a bullseye hit from the DB there.
The play should've been dead, though.
Wait a minute... Good point! When are you going to try to make a move when you are in the end zone?
EricJ (formerly Tyleraimee) : 10:36 pm : link : reply
if you already scored?
Which is why it's horseshit
Skins + Refs: 14
TD Giants!
Still pissed over Eli's QB rating taking the hit on the INT
Thank god football is not my profession!!!!
Hahha
What a game!
Everyone helping out! Shit, this is exciting.
We have some receiving TEs! Unbelievable........
Eli with 4 TDs.
NFL need to unfuck themselves at some point
Lol
Haha. Good one
NFL need to unfuck themselves at some point
Agreed. That happens a lot. A player catches and spikes it or throws the ball. That call was bullshit.
I will also add, since I wasn't posting earlier, the call right before the half was a great ballsy call.
Fumble.
Redskins ball.
Tight ends, tight ends, tight ends.
Prince, Reuben, ..... damn!

Maddening but for a change we didn't get screwed.
Thanks,
-jcn
Instead, it's a BS int.
Isn't this going to encourage more late hits in the endzone?
+1. Even with the obligatory screwing but the officials.
That was a TD catch that was ruled an INT! He had both feet down in the endzone which does not require a football move! Fuck these lying-thieving-wieny- licking announcers!
Randle made that TD, bad call by refs.
Skins fans starting to leave.
Excalty. I love that. Like it was when I was a youngster. No beating your chest for doing what you are getting paid LOTS to do!
Yes but we are unleashing Washington late in the season.
Yeah, this second half we aren't getting pressure at all. Somehow, that's got to change. Cousins isn't going to keep throwing it to us.
Sad part it is obvious. He is hitting him on the ground as well.
LOL!
Demps making plays!
You have to complete the catch - that's 3 parts: possession, 2 feet and then make a move "common to the game" (what fans call a "football move", although that phrase is not in the rulebook)
you are actually not required to make a football move, you just have to possess the ball long enough to do so.
the sideline or endline catch is a different story and it covered by a different rule.
so I guess the rules expert had it right although this has been a pain in the ass since the calvin Johnson play
yep
how many weeks of fuck ups are we going to have to endure? undisciplined.
I don't blame Parker for letting it go, he clearly thought he couldn't catch it.
That kind of play can be a game changer....good thing Williams just gouged them for 23 :)
see the exception to football move that I cited. however as the rules expert said it is a matter of timing.
You have to complete the catch - that's 3 parts: possession, 2 feet and then make a move "common to the game" (what fans call a "football move", although that phrase is not in the rulebook)
How was that not a completed catch? Caught the ball in the air, put both feet down, ball gets popped loose. What more is he required to do?

Nothing greedy, with today's rules 17 points isn't much of a cushion, we need more points.
There is none. It was a catch. There is no forward progress anything. The timing thing is BS. Because players routinely put TD balls on the ground and are not penalize.
Yes...look at my post about 20 posts up

What more is required of him?
Rodney Williams (remember him) had a 90 yard punt for us...Randall Cunningham launched a 90 yard punt against us
Dont get conservative.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
LOL! Bingo. RG3 coming soon!
Oh the memories..
that's possible..however keep in mind you have to do the move (or possess long enough to make a move) after you have accomplished the possession and two feet down (or any body part other than the feet) part of the catch. (rule book says this explicitly)
Oh the memories..
Washington gets his first receiving TD
Donnell gets #4
The suspense builds....
Man I agree TTH. This system is going to spoil me. Anything in the fed zone mainly the goal line I route for a passing TD.
Saving him and getting Williams the touches
Yep. And we know the Cowgirls D sucks! The media will have to be rating us as the best NFC East team after this.
In fairness, Phil said 'I didn't see him holding his jersey before' and admitted his mistake.
ELI!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice
Washington gets his first receiving TD
Donnell gets #4
The suspense builds....
Ha. Bet no one thought that would happen...
TD GIANTS!
Eli Manning just ran it in. That's how bad their d sucks!!! Hahah
Cousins was somewhere around 13.

breaking the plane does not apply. breaking the plane only applies to runners advancing the ball from the field of play to the end zone.

Somehow it was all so much simpler back in 1970. The quarterback threw the ball, the receiver caught the ball in his hands and went down with the ball still in his hands, and if he got up with the ball still in his hands it was a catch. If he got up without the ball it was an incompletion.
Season opener in 2011, same stadium, our first TD of the season was an Eli run (but we lost that game)
Yup, Cutcliffe's Ole Miss offense was mostly a short passing game because he didn't want Eli taking too many deep drops with Ole Miss's offensive line against most of those SEC defensive fronts
Thanks for the reminder Tom...Highlight some of that stuff later, they are a great read when they get destroyed after they get their hopes up
No! Still 14 minutes left. Don't need to be turning the ball over now.
I agree. I'm always for putting in the backups when you have a big lead.
who are they? can we burn their cards??
PS, cousins is really not good.
who are they? can we burn their cards??

Unfortunately, there are.
MM! Blasphemy! Big time QBs stay in and throw TDs.. Brees and Peyton and so on. Peyton stayed in for all 7. That's what I want for Eli . Keep him in and pad the ever living shit out of his numbers like other teams do for their QBs.
this is the best giants redskins game since the Jim Zorn swinging gate game.
The entire sports media complex owes him a group apology.
Last season in their new Offense.
who are they? can we burn their cards??
PS, cousins is really not good.
In answer to your question, no there aren't. But when he plays badly, anyone daring to acknowledge it is termed a hater. Its great fun and in games like this they get to taunt, great fun.
No kidding, but it's nice to have a problem with an answer. Herzlich is awful, but he's a backup and we should be able to fix that

We're up by a lot. Short week. Guy ran 1000 times on Sunday. Don't jump to conclusions please.
Nah, I think they're spooked due to the 30+ carries on Sunday. Better to be safe than sorry
To put it mildly :)

"over reaction" threads.. but are there really Eli haters??? The best QB in franchise history? The guy who won 2 SBs??

umm, yes, there are many many Eli haters. It's a sad truth. they'll quiet down for a while, but they'll be back when the o-line struggles
The only way this game could get better is if Eli throws a TD to himself.
Clark isn't running his mouth anymore.
if game was closer bet he'd be in more.
Same here. And that cheap INT still pisses me off.
It might be hard for us NOT to get one. LOL
Why?
LOL. Good call.
don't know, but everytime he shows up ...It turns out gooood!!
2012 in SF...the NFC Championship rematch that the Niners were hyped up for...Giants whooped them 26-3
Ironically the last game until tonight where the Giants looked like a serious contender
Has he made a single play tho
We're up by a lot. Short week. Guy ran 1000 times on Sunday. Don't jump to conclusions please.
I said "I think"... and I'm not jumping to conclusions. I saw him take a HELL of a shot and I immediately thought he was hurt. And he hasn't taken the field since.
Tough running by Williams.
I am joking.
Yep. Get Eli out of there now.
I'm lovin it. LMAO!!!!
I live in a town of Eagles fans, and it KILLS them that Williams is on The Giants.. this pours salt in their wounds. Awesome.. suck it.
I hope they don't test for it...
I'm lovin it. LMAO!!!!
Actually, we kicked the dog and I don't even want to tell you what we did to the girl, T-Bone.
The end zone view looked like his head and shoulders broke the plane, but the ball was at his gut and did not reach the goal line. GLad they did not review it

You don't think we would of heard by now? Please stop.
The thing is I think the Redskins probably have the 2nd best D in the division.
no QB to get him the ball

He had an 81 yard TD in Philly 4 days ago from the same QB playing tonight. :)

Whatever it is I like it

I see what you did there!
One of my all time favorites. Meggett threw a TD pass.
snyder should change name now
I'm lovin it. LMAO!!!!
No we banged their girl while the dog howled us on!!!
I thought same thing...
He's being coached by Tom Quinn, that's a definite possibility.
He probably saw the spin of the ball and left it.
Don't you ever doubt him again

The Redskins defense or fucking Nantz and Simms?

Yeah both are horrible at this point
September 25, 2014. One of the greatest nights of my life.
Cancelled second class for the young man with a beard and Johnny Damon shirt. Purple drink clouds the mixed football helmet cup. Empty alarm clock.
Yes, you are. Awesome. Great night for NY.
Holy cow will tha be a blowout. Are they at Seattle?
I just like winning.

No, it's at FedEx but I don't think it'll matter

You're right. It won't LOL!

So this is what it feels like when your franchise QB puts up stats like this and the offense is precision in nature. Fuck man that damn int sucks it falls in Elis column. However, I can get used to 3 and 4 TD games with sick completion percentages and high QB ratings week in and week out.
I just like winning.
We can do both. No law against being amazing on offense and winning at the same time.
loved this!
Leg has been swept.
Also without world-beaters at the WR position. We don't have a Megatron or Julio Jones at the X. Cruz is good but not in that class and the other receivers are still developing.
Donnell's meteoric rise is huge though. Pray for his health every day
