What do we know?

Reb8thVA : 9/26/2014 12:03 am
We know we are not as bad as the Detroit game and probably not as good as this game. The next two weeks against Atlanta and Philly should give us a better sense of where we stand.

I'm just happy we are not consigned to a lost season of crappy football.
Detroit is not a bad team.

They made Green Bay look bad too.
We're as good as this game
BillT : 9/26/2014 12:19 am : link
The Cards game showed we were for real and the Skins with a backup QB (who I wrongly thought was much better than this) are a speed bump as were the Texans.
it takes time for a new OL to gel

I don't judge this team by the Detroit game at all. The ceiling for this squad is much higher than most think.
I feel comfortable in saying this is not going to be a lost Giants

season. I think we'll be watching football with interest late into the season. After the last few seasons, that's a nice change.

Good teams dominate bad teams.
ImaGiant86 : 9/26/2014 12:27 am : link
We've dominated the Texans and the Redskins.

The Cardinals are a well coached team that plays tough defense. They were without a few key players but still with their best player Patrick Peterson, and we moved the ball with relative ease against them, but like much of 2013, we got in our own way with turnovers and mental errors.

Each game we've gotten better and better. There is no reason to believe we won't continue to improve and contend for the division. I am very eager to see our offense against the Eagles' defense (and Dallas' for that matter). Neither is equal to ours, and neither is much better than the Redskins.

The Texans aren't that bad, they're short a QB. Otherwise they're a pretty complete team
God nothing would be greater

than Eli going berzerk in this new offense putting up careeor numbers so all the haters can eat a big of dicks. So tired of people dismissing his 2 Superbowl MVPs like its nothing. 10 days to play and rest for ATL. I hope we gutter fuck them at home.

Aren't that bad implying they are somewhat bad, right? :)
Texans were pretty bad...
Sly Guy : 9/26/2014 12:42 am : link
No QB and no Foster. Their offense is terrible.

So what was the defense excuse? They didn't have their cornerstone guy Clowney in there?
We know...
manh george : 9/26/2014 12:58 am : link
we have a shitload of depth at DL.

We also know what some had forgotten, that Eli in rhythm can make decent receivers look good, and good receivers look superior.

And we know that McClain was a more important addition than a lot here thought.
Giants in four days went from a work in progress
Headhunter : 9/26/2014 1:00 am : link
With a questionable OLine . No TE mediocre Wide Receivers and a feature back that didn't impact the first two games.

This is capable team that can go out and embarrass good teams
I know that Larry Donnell now knows where the back of the end zone is.
Klaatu : 9/26/2014 1:10 am : link
I think Eli knows that, too.
Never a doubt.

I'll tell what we know

First off, the officiating continues to erode and then you have to listen to Mike Carey some kind of crazy explanation where he said he didn't have the ball long enough in his possession. I was like what!!!!!!

Second, I can't tell you how many so called experts jumped on the Eli Manning is done band wagon and needs to be taken out behind the wood shed as put by an asshole sport talk show host in Philly and dismissed the Giants as a non factor.

Eli knows how to read defenses and given time to throw the ball and with a line that can block and a running game that can keep a defense honest I think he is in the process of stuffing it down the throats of the likes of Ron Jaworski and asshole homer Sal Paloantonio.
I think these last two games

are a sign that this team is closer to the Giants teams we've seen in the Coughlin area rather than the 2013 version. Coughlin's Giants typically blow out bad teams, especially early in the season. Last year the Giants were only barely skating by this type of team.

I don't know if this will be enough to make the playoffs again, but I think this team will be one that's at least contending for a spot.
