NFT: PS4 Question

BlueHurricane : 9/27/2014 9:11 am
One of the main things I use my PS3's to do is stream media. I have heard that PS4 eliminated the ability to stream media from a hard drive or a PC. Can anyone confirm this? If it really did eliminate the capability does anyone know of a workaround? I have waited to upgrade to PS4 and after watching the COD trailer I think it may be time. Would really blow to have to keep my PS3 just to stream movies.
you can stream on PS4 just like PS3

I have read it doesn't have DNLA support.

How do you stream from a PC?
PS4 Media Server - ( New Window )
It doesn't support DLNA yet.

Early 2015 was the last estimate to come from Sony.

I don't think there's any way to stream from the PS4 hard drive at this point.

You can run the Plex web interface through the PS4 browser to stream from a PC.

It's not just like the PS3, and it's a bit inelegant and inconsistent, but if you're comfortable with Plex, it should be good enough to hold you over.
