"Heading into this season, there was a perception that the NFC East was a one-horse race, and it was a matter of when, not if, that horse known as the Eagles would run away with the title.
Thursday night might have shown that perception, however, is not reality.
By putting on an offensive display that hasn't be seen in Washington since Michael Vick lit up the Redskins for six touchdowns on Monday night in 2010, Eli Manning and the Giants torched their NFC rival for 449 yards in a 45-14 stomping on Thursday night.
With the win, the Giants made it clear that they are the team most capable of challenging the Eagles for the division crown.
Now the question is, should the Eagles be worried?"
The Eagles have a problem. - (

awesome
What, Me Worry?
Is that really you?
I figured you for bigger biceps and thicker thumbs...
Let's see what we do against Atlanta's offense.
If the offensive performance these last 2 weeks wasn't a fluke, well..
The Giants might be back. (Let's hope)
We will know a lot in just over a week.
the other is 2-2
they arent concerned. at.
all.
Eli's Coming - Laura Nyro - ( New Window )

all.
So when your second favorite team (after the Jests) losers to the Niners today, and they fall to 3-1, they will only have a 1 game lead after only 4 weeks.
Right, no need to worry with a cushion like that.
On Defense, we've got problems covering backs and TEs and that's where we'll get exploited IMO, especially against the likes of Sproles and Ertz.
Specials are a mystery and have been our achilles heel so far.
Turnovers have also hurt us badly in the first two games.
Bleedinblue. WTF?????
I agree to an extent, but how do we know what the Redskins are? You can look at their record and say they suck, but they did just take the Eagles to the brink. They could have easily won that game and then everybody wouldn't be laughing at their record. They also lost a fairly close game to Houston in week one.
It's funny. This happens too the Giants every single year. Going into a game, everybody on the planet is picking the opponent to beat the Giants. When the Giants win, everyone says "eh, that team sucks anyways". Like clockwork. And if the Giants can somehow beat Atlanta by a large margin, the same will be said about them. "Eh, Matt Ryan is overrated and that defense sucks".
Just watch...

the giants wont underestimate them either. That said, Foles will cry that day. GMEN!

Awe snap! It's on!
My vote is that you two strip down to your thongs and do a little mud wrestling to figure this on out....winner gets to keep the name
Both the Cowboys and the Giants appear to be gaining traction, while the Eagles seemed become more banged up each week. So yes, the Eagles should be at least a little worried. But if they beat the 49ers today I think all of that goes away for a couple weeks.
If our Oline continues to play well/improve, we still have a chance to knock them off.
Eli doing his best Elvis impersonation
But I'm starting to like the chances of our offense doing the same to them

But I would guess Thursday had as much to do with the current Redskins as the Giants. Let's wait till Atl to get a better read on our progress.

Totally agree with this. It was incredible that Friday morning the lead story wasn't the Giants win. It was the Redskins' loss.

Not even that, I wonder if they do what some of the teams have had success doing to us. That's clear out and have the RBs, TE or other WR, get the ball in the middle of the field, intermediate zone or level. Then the player has open field and can turn up field and keep going.
Stop looking at how the Giants match up vs the Eagles. The Giants have to win the games against the other teams too. We dont have the easiest schedule.
The encouraging thing here is that our running game seemed to have come alive the past two weeks. Absolutely huge for us. If we can continue that then we have a chance.

Gee, thanks for the reality check.
Wtf, do you really think it's necessary to be a Debbie downer? This team has won two in a row, after a shit ass start, there's some excitement again, and you have to act like you think you're the only one watching the games. We're fans. What the fuck does it matter if we want to be positive instead of negative for a change?
Reality my ass. Why even watch the games.
Foles seems like he is game or two away from getting David Carr-ed.
he takes some ridiculous hits every week because they can't block anyone, but they call plays like they can.
I think the Giants still need to prove they can play like the past two weeks consistently and against better teams, but the arrow is definitely point up for the Giants right now.
The Eagles between Thursday and now probably did have a little bit of a wake up call and realized they should be worried about the Eagles first, but definitely about the Giants and the Cowboys, as well as Washington, who they narrowly beat. and I bet if you asked Kelly he'd tell you he worries about every opponent, so this really is a press thing, if anything.

Everyone in the NFC east basically has the same schedule. Nobody has an easy schedule.
What's exactly your point?
Atlanta was anything but invincible today. We are on a little roll.
Can we at least crack a smile?
I dont think it will be as easy as they imagined it to be.
We also could have/should have beaten the cards.
Potentially a two game swing, gah.
