Partying like it's 2005-2007 (NFC East)

State of the Giants 14 : 9/28/2014 11:40 pm
So it looks like the NFC East isn't the laughing stock (Redskins aside) anymore. Would you say that 4 weeks deep into the 2014 that the NFC East is gonna be a tough pit. I can't believe tonight's game between the Cowboys and Saints....wow, or are the Saints that bad???
and will we see

3 NFC east teams in the playoffs like all those years ago? It HAS been a while since we've seen multiple NFC east teams in the playoffs. I thin the last year was 2009.
4 games into the season

And thats ur conclusion? I guess you havent watched football very long if you think 4 games is an indicator of how the season is going to go. All the NFC east tems have had very shaky starts to the season.

The Giants and Cowboys DO seem to be trending higher than many would've thought going into the season.
Well, duh
State of the Giants 14 : 9/29/2014 12:43 am : link
of course it's all speculation. And why am I supposed to hold back on any discussion on how we think the rest of the division will do? "it's too premature to make proclamations?" Why? Who will archive this and rub it in my face?

Just...just

You should know better than to come on a football site making speculative remarks. The thread police here just won t have that.

I had the same thought about the NFC East as you but have learned sharing those ideas here, unless you have time to engage in responses to those more concerned with criticizing your point than discussing your post , it s not worth the effort.

This discussion board

has gone from great to garbage.

trying to figure out why the dissenting opinion is such a slap in the face.

It is early to draw any conclusions. The data is very limited and what you see in September rarely ends up being reality.

Division looks good now. Let's see how it's holding up a month from now.

Giants need to continue to play like they have these last two weeks. The next 3 games before the bye are all huge.
Dorgan - Here's the stuff that is unnecessary and drags the board down

"I guess you havent watched football very long if you think 4 games is an indicator of how the season is going to go".

See, that's totally unnecessary. The poster made a couple of points but threw in what is basically a personal insult.

The original poster makes a point for discussion; this poster comes back with a put down. Not necessary.

It happens all the fucking time here. From the senior members too. Snide, unnecessary comments.

that's the point. The content of the post responding to the original thread, is not normally the issue as it is an opinion being expressed.

But the tone of these post is often, as you wrote, stated in a manner that comes across as a personal insult.

And it is not a matter of being too sensitive, at least not for me. It is more, when you attack me I want to come back at you. But I've neither the time nor do I need to waste energy arguing.

I post to share an opinion about the Giants, I want to hear what other Giants fans have to say about it, even when they disagree. But I find the insults frustrating for the above stated reasons.
Okay,

I thought it was kind of tame, but I'm about as sensitive as a cactus.
Never thought I'd

say this, but the Saints really looked slow on offense. Something more than missing Sproles is wrong with that team.

I hope my pal Amtoft sees this, but Frederick already looks like a top 3 OC. Dallas can score against anyone but I think last night was more about issues with the Saints offense than Dallas defense becoming good. Carter and Hayden did play well.
Too soon to draw conclusions. But I will say that

if Chip Kelly is too stupid to run Shady McCoy 2 more times from the 1 with the game on the line that the Eagles are not a team to worry about. That was just moronic play calling.

I admit, I looked at it.
So it's TOO EARLY(it pretty much is)
Big Blue '56 : 9/29/2014 8:34 am : link
to assess after 4 games but NOT too early to assess our OL and TE situation during minicamp and pre-season?

I hayte BBI at times

Both coaches in that game were iffy.
Go back and look at the defensive formation on third down in that situation and the LBers were 3 yards deep in the endzone. A run was stealing and even if Kelly didn't call it, Foles should have seen it and changed it.

Harbaugh came out throwing and hung with it for a long time despite the fact that CK couldn't find his ass with both hands and the OL couldn't protect him.

Not informing his QB not to take a TO on the 4th down was just plain inept. Yes, CK should have known better, but you have to be clear on that.

Neither coaches' finer moment in that contest.

I thought it was Sproles that looked slow last year, but based on the early results from this year I think you are right that it's the Saints O that looks slow. And it's been happening for a while now.

another poor coaching move was the Saints' fake punt. Not just the call itself, but the coaches have to tell the punter that he has to throw the ball no matter what in that spot.

Philly beat 1 team, Indy by 3 in OT, with a 2-2 record, then you had the Jags and Skins with a combined total of 1 win between them! The Cowboys have 3 wins against titans, saints and Rams, all of which are 1 W teams (Rams play their fourth tonite).

I haven't even seen that, yet. I missed most of the 2nd half.
