NFL

Barnwell Grantland: Week 4 Wrap-up: Building the Über-Team
"Through four weeks, the biggest on-field story in the NFL is parity. If there’s a truly great team in the league this year, it has yet to reveal itself. The likes of Arizona, Cincinnati, and San Diego might rate among the league’s best teams, but even they have visible flaws. As soon as a team produces a dominant performance, it seems to come back to earth with a disappointing follow-up, while a team left for dead returns with a stunning win. The Steelers were blown out by a surely distracted Ravens team by 20 points in Week 2, beat a 2-0 Panthers team by 18 points in Week 3, and then lost on Sunday to the 0-3 Buccaneers, who were coming off a 42-point loss. There have been an average of 3.6 undefeated teams through Week 4 since the league went to its current schedule format in 2002. This year, there are two."

The Falcons haven’t won a game outdoors since triumphing at Tampa Bay on Nov. 25, 2012. Their only road victory in 2013 came against the Bills in Toronto with the roof closed at the Rogers Centre.

Makes me even more optimistic about next week's matchup

Quote:
After three weeks, Pro Football Focus had Beatty as the highest-graded left tackle in the league and his grade was not hurt by a solid performance in the 45-14 rout of the Redskins, when he allowed only one quarterback hurry.

Basically everyone had him as a huge potential hole in the OL coming into the season. Now, he could be a mainstay for the duration of his contract.
