IRVING, Texas -- Morris Claiborne's season has ended because he tore a patellar tendon in his left knee during the Dallas Cowboys' win Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Claiborne suffered the noncontact injury on a third-and-3 play with 5:52 left in the first quarter. He did not return to the game, and owner and general manager Jerry Jones said initial fears were a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Claiborne will have surgery in a few days. |
At least it's not ONLY us - (KP, TT, Wilson, Chad Jones) losing high draft picks on guys who flame out with injuries.
I believe there have been a number of them. It's been heavily studied.
Jerry can't be a happy Cowboy about that.

I read somewhere that over 50% of knee ligament injuries are non contact.

I tore my patellar, and "too much force/torque put on it from an unnatural angle" is just about right.
