anyone care to give a fair comparison of the 2 with pluses and minuses of each system? looking to get one or the other in the near future. Friends have xbox one but ive been playstation guy
However, look at it like this. Even if you're a Sony guy, most of your friends have Xbox's and, you'll most likely derive more fun out of said system because of that. Also, because the Xbox's aren't selling as well, they're going to be cheaper soon.
So, you either go with the system/company you've grown to love, play games with strangers and enjoy the exclusive titles. Or, you suck it up, buy the system your friends own and, join in on the fun with them. It's a tough decision. Especially since $300+ isn't really a drop in the bucket.
I think the PS4 gets a slight edge due to games being a little better graphically thanks to the system being a bit more powerful but that's just me. I prefer PS4's exclusive games and I prefer the feel of the controller. I also enjoy PS Plus and the free games you get with it. But the Xbone has a better/more updated OS and the controller's battery life is better from what I remember. But it comes down to where your friends are and what console exclusive games you want. Decide which of those things is most important to you and there you go.
doesn't really do much for me as i'm not an investor. Normally I'd find a way to get both, but i certainly won't be spending $1,000 to do so to only play a handful of games each year.
The XBox One is ideal for me as I'm already a Gold member, already have an entire friends list that is or has already converted to the One, and the online interface/options are superior.
Exclusives are whatever your preference is so there's no winner there for me. Both systems have a lack of exclusives anyway.
With FF15 coming to the XBox, that pretty much solidified my purchase even though I have my reservations about the game.
having more sales means that it's more likely to get third party support, especially by Japanese developers who might not want to make the effort to port games over to the XBone.
Obviously it's speculation on my part, but I like playing JRPGs and I have a feeling that a lot of companies aren't going to bother porting these games over to the XBone. The big stuff like FF15 is one thing, but we'll see what happens with smaller games.
that's a valid point, but probably a long way off from being reality. I also love JRPG's, and if it turns out to be true, i'll just get a PS4 refurb or during a price drop.
Sales will increase for both systems this holiday season, especially with the One price drop/CoD bundle. I'm willing to bet there will be more than enough users on each system for developers to make games for.
I do have a PS3. Was thinking of getting one of the two when I "catch up" on my bills this fall.
One of the biggest issues I've heard about people going from XBox to PS or visa versa is the controller. Playstation people are comfortable with that controller, and going to the Xbox is a learning curve. XBox people are comfortable with their controller, and using the Playstation controller is difficult to get used to.
So if you have a PS3, getting the PS4 will result in a more seamless experience. Not that this should be the deciding factor, but it should be a consideration.
Im also a PS guy and bought the PS4. I love it.

Good luck either way.
