I accidentally deleted a thread I started last night about going to the Victory Sports Bar to watch Kim Jones and Carl Banks' Monday night radio show live. During a commercial break, I asked Kim if she was familiar with BBI. She said "You mean the Corner Forum? I love the Corer Forum!" I then asked her if she wouldn't mind recording a quick hello for me to post. She happily said "Sure!" Click the link below to see it.
(The video is blurry as hell. I don't know why. But I had to live with it. It's not like I could have her do another take.)
I think they said Cruz and Larry Donnell will be live guests on the show next week. I'll probably go and check it out again because it's a good way to spend "happy hour" on a Monday night!
Anyway, I want to ask the moderators for a zero-tolerance policy on anyone posting anything negative about Kim Jones. She is too nice! :)
Victory - (
New Window )
HAHA!
Considering how her career has advanced, I'm guessing it was a lot of BS.
She's also an excellent journalist who takes the profession seriously. Love the Kim!
I remember when she was first hired by YES and everyone was ridiculing her in her first year covering the Yankee clubhouse, but everyone who ridiculed her had to eat a whole lot of crow because she's one of the best in the sports journalism business
Perfect for the overnight and that's it.

He sucks. A total asshole. Tony Paige is the best late night. Nice guy, knowledgeable, good radio voice.
Malussis is terrible as one radio personality can get and Kim is the best.
She was obviously very emotional due to her loyalty to her alma mater, but didn't let that prevent her from being realistic about everything that was wrong with the situation, unlike so many other Penn State alums who found themselves in a bizarre state of denial
lmao

Agree completely. I remember during that period she was on with Mike almost every day. She did a great job and he let her run with it.
Wanna make friends on BBI, give us your take on the Penn St scandal, that oughta start you off on the right foot...
[quote] How the fuck do you accidentally delete a thread.
It takes incredible skill. That's all I say.
1. Back in 2004, when I was writing about the Giants on nj.com, Kim was the one insider who took the time to explain how the whole beat-reporter thing worked. She was totally supportive of what I was doing, and understood early on how blogs (later Twitter) could complement traditional reporting. But more impressive than her vision was that she was so damn nice about the whole thing. There wasn't a trace of condescension toward me - a complete outsider, an IT guy with no access whatsoever and very little to offer the pros. That's pretty special.
2. During that first year of Coughlin, I was in contact with enough reporters to get a sense of their agendas, how they were sourcing their stories, and the level of corroboration they sought before running anything. I'm pretty sure Kim had the strictest standards. I will say, the range was pretty interesting - from, "We're journalists, and we should conduct ourselves accordingly" to, "Get over yourself - it's just football."
I heard that one! Idiotic phone call that I'm sure made Kim uncomfortable.
Or does this belong on the Allred thread?

More or less skill than correctly using the quote function?
I'm going with 'Accidentally deleting the thread' has the higher degree of difficulty. Because it requires
1. you click a button requesting the thread be deleted.
2. When it asks if you're sure , you have to click a button that says 'Yes.'
Doing that accidentally is no mean feat.
While correctly using the quote function only requires working knowledge of []s and /s and the ability to type the word 'quote' twice.
Let's just be grateful this thread exists at all.
Given BBI, I thought this thread could have gone MUCH worse than it has so far. . .

Oh jeez. Ok, I'm failing badly at BBI functionality. But at least I am providing entertainment!
