Guy on WFAN that covers baseball for MLB network said his nickname is because he is a lakers fan and liked James Worthy. Never had anything to do with his performances. He seemed to be serious and not just naking a dumb joke

Gotcha. Well that makes more sense. Wouldnt be the first time a media overblew something.
Really is special. It's too bad that a lot of baseball fans don't watch unless their teams are playing.
I really wouldn't mind if Oakland or KC won the whole damn thing. Pirates are another team I wouldn't mind winning it all, although the fact that the fans are also Steelers fans makes them a lot less likeable.

I also think an LA vs LA series would be cool.
I want to see a Giants-Dodgers NLCS. That would be just as nasty as Yankees-Red Sox
brought a young kid who never relieves and has very spotty control to begin with into a one game playoff with 1st and 2nd 0 out. He was either going to walk the ballpark or groove one. You can't put him in that spot. If he was willing to go to Herrera in this inning, then he should have been the one that came in for Shields. Yost set that kid up to fail

Yes
Shields last 3 post-seasons starts has an ERA of 9.41 (15ER/14.1IP)

New Commandment: Pulling a proven veteran pitcher in a sin of rookie lust shall from this day forward be known as getting Yosted.
One of the biggest reasons to the Royals made the playoffs is their fantastic bullpen. Three different relievers with 60+ IP & an ERA below 1.45.
So when Shields struggles through 5+ innings and obviously needs the hook, Yost calls in... Yordano Ventura? A rookie pitcher with 1 career relief appearance. Incredibly dumb decision.

A lot of people called off work tonight to go to this game. It's gonna be loud as hell.
This is actually a hell of a baseball town when the Royals are good- or so I'm told, I've only been out here for 20 years.

His call of Moss home run was awful, he acted like it was a routine fly to center field off the bat

7-5 OAK but the tying runs are on base for the Royals
wins the thread.
Well played. Marty still sucks... but well played.
So true. He was one of a kind.
