I remember all the panic in here before the season started. All the dumb comments, Reese should be fired, we have no TE. After 4 games who still thinks we have an issue at TE?
at all. He's one concussion from retirement. Drops a good amount of passes too.
So glad Donnell (and Fells for all we know) have manned up and taken their game to a professional level. Now learn blocking and they will be very valuable.
One thing i don't understand. Donneel is really good and catches everything. he is used in the redzone as much as plax was used un the first 4 games while being very unproven. How did he not blow the other tightends away during training camp? would robinson be really good too if given the chance?
or been ok with not signing. I like all fans have opinions, but understand that the people who are there every day getting paid to make decisions about their decisions, probably have a better chance of knowing what to do, than I would where the Giants are concerned.
Again I still have my opinions, and sometimes they are right, but I bow to the track record of this FO and coaching staff, when it comes to making decisions.
pass stepping on the end line last year. I was unimpressed with Donnell in preseason. I thought Robinson was the future. I was wrong and shows how little I know
lose games in the future so I have no idea what getting knocked down means. Sometimes the other team is better that day. So what? I look at a team like the Jets that find ways to lose and give thanks I don't follow a team like that. The Giants will lose games but if they play smart football, they will win a hell of lot more than they lose
really? You've never noticed that after a win, BBI thinks we're going to a superbowl, and after a loss, we suck, fire Reese, fire TC, and then after the next win, we're back on track for the SB?
had something in Donnell. If anyone really paid attention, particularly in the last two pre season games, Donnell was playing well. The mantra was we have zero NFL TEs in the off season, so it became fact. Similar to 2011. Just like the OL - many were saying it would take time (4-5 games) for it to come together. But one game in it's garbage and Reese has totally mis-managed it. After 4 games it's reasonably clear management had provided talent at the TE and OL spots - we'll see if they continue to improve or not.
Though I had no idea if any of the Giants TEs could play
I'm sure guys we've haven't seen much of these last 2 weeks are lying in the weeds ready to tell us how much of an illusion this all was. Fuck 'em. Try to take an overview and I like what I see and I expect loses and accept they are part of the deal.
this is a finley question but it makes me nervous how Donnell falls while he is making a catch. He is an injury waiting to happen.Maybe he can call Gonzo an pick up some tips or something......

Don't worry, every post you make shows how little you know. :)
unless he came very cheap. Reese's philosophy, for better or worse, is very clear - he prioritizes certain positions (QB, WR, DE, CB) and devalues others (LB, S, TE). He wasn't going to blow cap room on a TE.

Especially considering the question marks around our TEs all last season and this preseason. I figured based on his injury history it wasn't going to happen though. Certainly nice to see Donnell succeeding.
was completely unproven. Still is in some respects, but he has been a hell of a weapon so far.
Absolutely. There's not a swinging dick in Giantland from Mara on down to us that expected anything like what we're getting out of Donnell.
I'll bet the house those folks that were clamoring for Ebron are glad JR didn't pull the trigger on that one. Ironcally, I think they thought they had something in Robinson over Donnell.

A lot of us have noticed that, and if we have I assume the coaching staff has also. You're right, it's an accident waiting to happen and is completely correctable. Come down square, both feet on the ground. Can't always do it but get into the habit of trying to do it. Right now I think Donnell is doing anything to make the play and show that he can go up and get the ball. He's proven that rather convincingly. Now it's on the coaches to fine tune the basics before an unnecessary injury happens.
At this point the teams we're going to play have seen enough of Donnell to know they have to stop him. The play is going to get more physical. Pope would have a plan for this but I have no idea what Gilbride Jr. is discussing during the game planning. Still, step #1, make the play and land square.

this
+10...
Ya self righteous troglodyte.
Yup.
Donnell (and the others) were all blasted for their run blocking which was of focus as we all know during the preseason games.

Nobody thinks Donnell is catching 3 again, ya snooker
Except this post.
32 receptions (38 targets), 289 yards, 7 touchdowns
This would have been a good bet for over/under on the whole season...
Smart man.

The 7 TDs would have been 4 too many!
The 12th Man should definitely stick to hindsight given his past predictions.
Its a freakin message board... sheesh.
Ugh, you said it.
Don't worry, every post you make shows how little you know. :)
Sounds schizophrenic.
