I've officially had enough of Tom Brady as my starter.
I gave him plenty of chances but I'm done.
I put out some feelers for trades, I have both Kelce and Cameron as tight ends so I'm hoping to package someone like Cameron and Wright for someones backup qb. (russell wilson, kaepernick)
I also signed drew stanton because I think he will put up good numbers this week.
I could also sign either Bridgewater or Bortles, or even Dalton.
anyone has to be better than brady at this point.
advice? think i should just hedge my bets on one of those rookies?
im lost at qb man haha.
Would you trade Colston for Witten (PPR). My other WRs are Allen, Hilton, R White. Lost N Paul and would have to scour the waivers for TE.
Brees
Calvin
Maclin
Cruz
Jennings
Vereen
Graham
TY Hilton

I would make that trade. Witten's a safe TE that gets a good chunk of targets per game.
He hasn't shown good progress after he said he definitely play this week, they're supposed to make a decision this afternoon.
Bortles against Pitt ain't a bad play. Big Ben will likely go off on Jax and Bortles could throw 50 times.
Dalton might be better long term but I wouldn't cut Brady yet...
My rb's are
Peterson (just dropped)
Bell
Asiata
Blount
Moreno (hurt)
Ingram (hurt)
Searching for TE
Clay Harbor available?
For
Graham, Hilton, vereen
The way I see it, I invested a 2nd on brees, I still think he will pick it up and be worthy. I believe Graham will be the beneficiary. I'm also a big Ty Hilton fan and I'd be buying low in him. I obviously weeken my rbs a lot, but improve TE total pts and Flex total points. Plus, there will be other rbs available throughout the season. Thoughts.
Bernard
Olsen
Tate
vs
Vereen
Graham
Hilton
I like team 1 for two of the three, and the drop-off on the third doesn't seem like a ton.
Right now and he's already has his bye Gio has 25 points more than vereen
Right now, neither with a bye: Tate has 4 more points than Hilton
And Graham has 26 points more than Olsen.
In the end I go with Gio and Tate to improve, Vereen is not what I thought he was (through 4 games) and Hilton is buried in a bevy of options.
0.5 pts per 10 yards, 3 pt bonus at 100, 6 pts for TD, 0.5 pt per reception.
Colston had a game in which he wasn't even targeted, then had 10 targets last week (only caught 5, but one was a TD). Decker has the crappy QB, but he's their top WR (when his hammy isn't sore). Hopkins is putting up great numbers so far), and doesn't normally face the top CB.
Which would you drop?
Hilton>Tate(slightly)
Vereen>vernon(or Olsen who goes to my bench)
Peyton Manning
Russell Wilson
Michael Floyd
Jeremy Maclin
TY Hilton
Mike Evans
Jimmie Graham
Ladarius Green
Reggie Bush
Lamar Miller
Bishop Sankey
Darren McFadden (whom I dropped for Bobby Rainey...)
Just missed adding McKinnon on Waivers and in a 12 team league, its really fucking thin out there.
Anywho, just wanted to rant.
This is the same league I am potentially looking to deal Brees.. I offered the last place guy Brees for AJ straight up. He also has Demaryius and Newton is his QB so he's not getting a whole lot there right now.
I have to play two of the three following guys:
Patterson at GB
Royal vs. the Jets
Foster against Dallas
Patterson has been a bust, Royal is getting a lot of balls thrown his way but will he keep it up, Foster got 1 carry in the 2nd half last week and it looks like they are limiting him.
Thoughts?
Also, in my other league where I really need a RB I was offered Sproles and Talafarrio (sp?) for McKinnon and VJax. No, right? Another guy said he'd swap me Tate (Crowell is a FA so I can cuff him) for a WR.. I have VJax, Mike Floyed, Terrance Williams, Quick and Cooks so I can part with one of them since we only start 2 a week.
This is the league I drafted AP which is why I got fucked.
With Olsen and Graham yes of course it is an upgrade to Graham but Olsen is effectively their number 2 receiver and Newton will start to get into a groove and use Olsen more...
I just like Tate more than Hilton and with Megatron hobbled a little bit Tate was the guy they went to...he is a good number 2 receiver...i just trust Tate week to week more than Hilton...
In the end i just dont think it is a trade you need to make...
Cousins will be hit or miss all season but his next 2 are against Seattle and AZ, so i probably wouldn't have started him over Brady those weeks anyway.
Asiata @ GB
Lacy vs Minn
Ellington @ Den

Appreciate the feedback. You don't have to tell me about the Pats and their RB usage, I've been harping on that since the first fantasy threads. Again though, it's not RB's vs RB's and I think Vereen will be servicable as a starter and he would be compared to my TE which is still an upgrade.
I happen to think Olsen is very overrated. I think he's serviceable as a starter, but they don't pass a ton and they aren't a great passing offense. He will have a few duds week to week.
I like Hilton better than Tate personally. I think Tate is good, but I also have calvin which is annoying. I think Hilton is going to start finding the endzone and I also think Detroit has as many passing options as Indy. I think it's a lateral move in reality, but I like Hilton more moving forward.
Def not a trade I need to make, I'm not even actively shopping anyone because I like my team a lot, but this opportunity came to me and I'm always looking to improve. It's not like I'm messing with team chemistry.
I think there are reasons for both sides to be honest...it wouldnt be a bad trade if you did it...
GB lost JC Tretter at the end of training camp, through the Linsey kid from Ohio St into the fire at Seattle without ever making a game snap to Rodgers. Lotsa growing pains in run defense, he picked pass protection faster. Tretter comes back in 4 weeks, Lacy is a prime buy low candidate.
Dalton
AJGreen has turf toe, minimum healing time is 3 weeks completely staying off the foot with medical treatment. He hasn't done that. Maybe he's a fast healer but in most cases where the player comes back to soon they do more damage to the joint and it never heals. It can very realistically be a problem going forward. Dalton's value takes a major hit without AJ Green.
That's somewhat unfair unless you expect that is how things will remain.
Otherwise, look at WR, Demaryius Thomas is the 60th or so (I stopped counting) rated WR in my league, percentage points after Allen Robinson.
I think Lacy has under-performed, but I don't expect it to stay that way.
I don't own him in any leagues so I don't care if his leg falls off, but there are many highly drafted RB's who are not performing to their draft status. Forget Adrian Peterson.
Heck, LeSean McCoy has 10 points more than Lacy. 2.5 per week. And McCoy is tied with Shane Vereen (ppr league).
Lacy, has a limited track record, doesn't catch the ball, and plays on a team that hasn't run the ball well for the majority of the Rodgers era. Its why I stayed away and wouldn't trade for him.
As for McCoy, it can't get any worse, and i'm sure he will be better worked into the passing game while the OL gets put back together.

Bingo.
Anti inflammatories, ice, elevation on off days, depends on his endurance for pain and if he develops bone spurs. AJ's too important to that offense to sit for the 3 weeks. He made it through week 3 but didn't finish week 2 just something to keep in mind...
Quote:
Demaryius Thomas has a proven track record of getting better each season AND has Peyton throwing him the ball. He will absolutely get his.

Bingo.
Just offered Gore for Thomas. Let's go!
RE: Lacy....
Besides everything Uconn stated, which was spot on. Chicago was arguably one of the 3 worst run defenses in the game coming into last game and Lacy didn't even crack 50 yards on 17 runs! That's a 2.8 average and a decent number of rushes too. Their running game is awful.

Lacy caught 35 passes as a rookie. 1 per week less than McCoy.
The struggles in GB that were starting to be relieved last Sunday will eventually also be relieved for the running game IMO. Like I said, I don't have Lacy, but I see this is a good buy low opportunity.
a guy offered me Graham Cruz and Vereen for Lynch and Donnel..i accepted after thinking about it and then he balked and started asking me for a bunch of other stuff and eventually no deal was made...
Nelson's value has never been higher and Cobb is starting to get it going. That means things may get easier for Lacy but he sure as hell won't be getting their targets.
Gotta give a guy that had close to 1200 yds and 35 receptions at 17 yards per catch last year a chance since he's living with a rookie center. Call me irresponsible but I''d consider him a buy low candidate...
Michael Floyd
Matt Asiata
For some background, my current starting RBs are Jennings and Bell and my #1 receiver is Dez. The 2 spots I'm looking to fill are WR2 and Flex.
I'll admit I was wrong after the season if his numbers remain at this level. It's not like I'm penciling him in my starting lineup every week and getting my teeth kicked in because of it. I don't think week 4 is when declare finality.
I won't admit I'm wrong after 4 games (including one against Seattle who held Demaryius thomas to 4 catches for 31 yards and peyton manning under his season averages). Let's see the season play out.
It will do me far more good to be wrong than right on this.
I'd give up a WR3 for him at this point.
With Rodgers-he averaged 3.8 yards per carry and caught less than 2 balls per game.
Without Rodgers-he averaged 4.5 yards per carry and caught about 3 balls per game.
When Rodgers went down, they went to a ground and pound offense and Lacy was the center of the offense. If you've ever watched the Packers with Rodgers, you'd know that they don't run anything close to that offense with Rodgers playing.
he was a rookie last year, sure there will be some adjustment for Rodgers return, but I also expected some adjustment for his second season.
Additionally, when the Packers roll out Scott Tolzien, doesn't that scream 8-men in the box, and make it harder to run? So if true, and Lacy had success in those conditions you have to think it's a play call thing limiting Lacy's effectiveness or lessening it when Rodgers is in the game.
It made sense. rookie RB or veteran elite QB, whose hands to you want the ball in?
I expected even with Rodgers, as a 2nd year back they'd incorporate Lacy into the offense more.
Problem is they haven't and they've played some great defenses in SEA and DET and another very good run D in NYJ (that front 4 is ridiculous). Will it change, I think so, but if not, I have zero issue saying I was wrong.
I had opportunities to draft Lacy in both my leagues. One I had the 4th pick and selected Peterson, Lacy went next and the other league I picked 2nd and took Forte. Lacy went 5th.
Rivers
Lynch
Tate
Vjax
Sanders
Hawkins
Graham
Ingram
Josh Gordon
Wheaton

Lafell

Not to mention, Lacy also went against one of the worst rushing defenses in the league(Chicago) and was absolutely stifled with 17 carries and 2.8 yards per carry.

I never knew if that was a chicken or egg thing. Their RB were garbage with Ryan Grant, James Starks, the kid from UCLA who looked good, but had a career-ender.
Lacy is their first elite RB since who Ahman Green?
You have to figure you don't use a 2nd round pick for a guy you don't intend on using in your offense. Especially one who demonstrated so much success in the NFL as a rookie. They purposely drafted Lacy, it's not like they somehow got stuck with him.
I think things will change in GB, and if not, if this is it for Lacy, then I'm wrong.
SoZKillA - it really depends on who you would be getting for Jackson. Your WRs obviously aren't a huge strength but will be bolstered once Gordon comes back. Tate is reported to come back but it is going to be a tricky situation with the other two backs playing well to see who comes out of that 3-headed attack.
arc - I agree that you have the comparable talent on board so there shouldn't be much of a dropoff between Cooks and the others listed there. The problem with Tate is the same as I described above but if you can handcuff with Crowell that you can hope one of those two will come out on top. I would make the deal.
RD in CT - I am in a similar boat, I would start Hopkins and Asiata this week and I'm not sure I like the Floyd matchup.
FWIW, I have Gordon stashed in that league, too.. but it won't matter if I don't make the playoffs and I'm already 0-4. I feel like I gotta do something. The other offer I got was Sproles/Talaffario for VJax/McKinnon.. I don't think that really does much for me and I want to keep McKinnon because I think he has stud potential for the 2nd half
Pick two RB:
Hill @ NE
McKinnon @ GB
Gerhart v PIT
Pierce @ IND
Knile Davis @ SF
Would you start Reggie Wayne or Roddy White?
I read he'll get 60% of the snaps this week.
Should be a good test and if he comes out healthy and performs even reasonably well, it props up his value even more and diminishes West and Crowell, if he does nothing or leaves injured (more likely) then this fuels the fire of the RBBC approach or even IR-ing Tate.
I feel like Marvin Jones is probably the best bet, but the homer in me really wants Odell on my team just in case he blows up.
I know it's fitz but there has been zero indication to suggest he's gonna start doing anything the way 'zona keeps targeting everyone but him thus far.
Alfred Morris vs. Seattle;
Toby Gerhardt vs. Pittsburgh; or
Stevan Ridley vs. Cinninnati.
Typically, it would be a no brainer. Morris all the way. However, this week he's facing a very tough opponent in the Legion of Boom. Would you temp fate and sit him in favor of the unimpressive Gerhardt? For a change, Pittsburgh doesn't have a very tough D. What do you think?
if you had to drop one of these players, who would it be?
Alfred Blue***
Carlos Hyde
Bernard Pierce

Leaning blue right now
I'm really week on WR 2 and WR 3. I'm trying to plug the hole with a FA pickup. My RB2 might be kind of weak also (Fred Jackson)... I intended to move FJax and Woodhead in and out based on matches, but that went out the window, though I suppose Fjax isn't a terrible RB2.
Here's my team:
QBs: Luck, Newton
WRs: Alshon, Cordarelle, Boldin, Miles Austin, Allen Hurns (just dropped Hartline).
RBs: Gio, FJax, McFadden, Jeremy Hill (picked him up, but do you think Andre Williams, would be a better stash? I stupidly used a waiver wire claim on Starks, but dropped him this week. How much longer does Lacy need to suck before Starks eats into his carries?
TE: Graham, Jordan Reed (just picked up Reed thinking I can maybe trade him down the line, or at least use him for Graham's bye).
K/Def: Tucker and Pittsburgh.
There's a couple free agents I can pick up. Who do you think is more likely to help out down the line, out of Tavon Austin, Andre Williams, and Malcolm Floyd.
I'm kind of leaning towards picking up Floyd, but who would you drop?
I'm also considering starting Miles Austin over Boldin. I'm hoipng Hurns gets more valuable as the year goes on, now that Shorts is out again, and Marquise Lee has been hurt.
I'm trying to flip Cam for a WR3, but his value is in the garbage. Do you think Michael Floyd or Terrence Williams would be a good value for Cam given the makeup of my team?
if you had to drop one of these players, who would it be?

Pierce. Unless Talafarro or Forsett get hurt, he's totally worthless. There's a good chance Foster gets banged up again which will give Blue value.
I agree Pierce is probably the most dropable of your choices.
I have Robinson right now but Hurns is a FA. I know neither are worth a ton but there are a lot of bench spots in my league.
I have Robinson right now but Hurns is a FA. I know neither are worth a ton but there are a lot of bench spots in my league.
I have Robinson, Hurns was picked up in my league after his big week.
I took back my Brees for AJ offer. I am going to keep Brees for now because I think those monster Brees games are about to start now with JAX at home and I'm going to play Rivers when Brees is on the road.
Carolina's upcoming schedule:
Bears/Cutler
Cincy/Green/Gio/Dalton
GB/Rodgers
Seattle
NO
Philly
ATL
Should I drop Toby Gerhart for Isaiah Crowell?
No he's not.
Quote:
drop Pierce yet. He was held out due to injury. He is the starter in Baltimore.
No he's not.
Until we see otherwise he is a starting RB who missed 2 games due to injury. If we see Taliaferro outcarry Pierce in a game both are playing then it is safe to. People assumed Forsett was the starter and Pierce got 22 carries.
If only it was as easy to get some fucking RBs.
By the way, I'd go with Robinson over Hurns. Not an easy choice though. First, because the team sucks. Second, because they are such different WRs. Hurns is that beat you over the top threat that can get you double digits in a single catch. Robinson is more of a "workhorse" with short, intermediate passes.
I think I will, but I really hate having Eli on my team or bench, just needed a backup for Foles.
Who before Sunday had been excellent.
Gotta keep Forte, no?
Gotta keep Forte, no?
Yeah the way your team is set up you need Forte...
anyone a little bothered a player is saying he plays fantasy football?
anyone a little bothered a player is saying he plays fantasy football?
Wow that's actually hysterical.
And no, since it's most likely a free league. Maybe a 20 dollar league?
It's an interesting debate though. There can be a fine line between gambling and fantasy football. I hope it stays the way it is.
Fantasy Football isn't just for fans - ( New Window )
Also, what does everyone think about trading Gronk for Donnell straight up?
TIA
I hope all my players draft themselves! I really don't see any possible negative about it.
Screw MJD though and his fantasy football knowledge. Last year he told everyone to draft him #1 overall and promised that they wouldn't be disappointed. He disappointed big time, whether you took him in the 1st round or 5th round.
Also, what does everyone think about trading Gronk for Donnell straight up?
TIA
My opinions.....Foles(although I'd probably start Eli so it's extra motivation for me when he does well). I just think Philly at home is too good to pass up unless it's a terrible matchup and the Rams defense blows. I expect that to be magnified in Philly after a bad loss.
My theory on Gronk is that they are holding him back in an attempt to protect him for the stretch run. He doesn't look hurt to me and he's still open even when he's covered, but they just aren't targeting him. He's averaging 5 targets a game. I think he will continue to progress and eventually be a force again(assuming health which isn't always a safe assumption with him).
I do think Donnell is for real though. There is nobody else on the team that can possibly take time from him at this point and you can't fake athleticism. He's going to continue to be a great fantasy TE, IMO. I'd bet that he will average 8-9 targets a game and catch 6-7 balls a game and continue to be a red zone threat.
Due to Gronk's injury history and gambling that he will get more snaps as the season goes on, I'm taking Donnell which is crazy to say.
Also, I think if I'm going to trade Gronk for Donnell the time is now. Tough to pull the trigger on that one.
Niles Paul...Owens Daniels types are avail on the wire.
Guy in my league(PPR) is shopping Graham. I offered him:
Bernard, Golden Tate and Vernon Davis(I also have Olsen)
for
Graham, Hilton and Vereen
He declined and asked for Olsen instead of Vernon Davis. Personally, I don't think there's much of a gap between the two if any at all. My only hesitation is that I was going to then shop Olsen around. Either way, Olsen or Davis would be my backup TE. I can try to play hardball and say Davis or no deal, but it might not happen.
So Im in a keeper league where we play 2 QBs so they are pretty valuable. I have Peyton and R. Wilson (eli on my bench). Was offered Dez for Wilson, which i know is a good deal, but in a 2 QB league Wilson has a ton of value. Im also worried about how much longer i can keep Peyton and liked having a young guy to keep. If you dont have at least 1 QB keeper you are starting off in a bad spot since so many are kept. I think that Eli can do enough to make up for the loss of WIlson.
My WRs are A. Brown (obviously fine) but then Edelman, Quick, Patterson. So im really looking for an upgrade. I have to start 2.
League is standard scoring, no PPR.
Jones can't catch a break. After missing all of the offseason program with an ankle injury, Jones returned to training camp for all of one practice before breaking his foot. In his first official practice back from the broken foot on Wednesday, Jones hurts his ankle. He was initially expected to make his season debut this week against New England, but now Jones' status is up in the air.
He really can't catch a break. Injuries have been a concern for him for a while now, which is unfortunate since he's really good.
Would any of you release any of these guys for ODB? I just really want him on my team. It makes sense from an unbiased perspective as well since he's the only first round WR to be a FA.
Markus Wheaton
Jordan Reed
Josh Gordon
Isaiah Crowell
Lorenzo Taliaferro
Marvin Jones
I just can't release Josh Gordon. He's no lock to be lighting the world on fire when he gets back, but I'll take the risk. I'm hoping Isaiah Croweel or Lorenzo T. emerge since I'm incredibly weak at RB. Jordan Reed has done nothing but I need a backup TE. I feel like I can release Markus Wheaton and still be able to pick him up a couple of weeks from now if I want. I really like him, but he's not a big name.
Also.. annoying news about Jones, I just saw that before. I was considering rolling with him over Kendall Wright. Wright has been garbage this year so far... mostly because his QB situation sucks.
After being questioned about his Kelvin Benjamin pick (because of questionable route running), David Gettlemen said that the only WR in this Draft's route-running you cannot question is ODB.
ODB has a shot to eat up the short/intermediate passes in the middle of the field.
If I wasn't a Giants fan, I probably wouldn't do it. But I love me some ODB.
If we were running last years offense I would expect close to zero but as much as I like Randle, he sucks after the catch. Beckham has a lot more potential there and could hit on some big plays if we get the ball in his hands quickly.
ODB is a great weapon for this type of offense. No huddle, dink and dunk type. I can see Eli throwing some YAC throws to ODB in the near future.
It's stupid to consult, but not sketchy.
I do find it sketchy that the dude whos my direct competition talked him out of the trade. He should not have a say in a trade conversation between two other teams, he's got ulterior motives. All he kept saying was how it made my team so much better.
I sort of have the Chargers penciled in, but I'm afraid Rex will have the Jets fired up and ready to play staring at 1-4. Thoughts?
Also, if I were to drop a player for a second D who would that be?
Chargers vs. Jets
Eagles vs. Stl
Giants vs. Atl

The sketchy thing is how someone so dumb can be in the league.
I hope they just IR Moreno.
A non essential trade in a 10 team league. A 10 team league, should they even be accounted as valid. I mean, I could miss the draft in a 10 team league, fill the Yahoo auto draft spots with FA pickups and make the playoffs if I was on vacation for the first 3 weeks.
Anybody playing in 14, 16 team leagues with IDPs have something more challenging to talk about?
Just sayin, ya know, it's 4 weeks in, let's upgrade the participants...
Proof?
Can we get rid of this idiot now?
Knowshon Moreno (elbow) said he's four weeks away from returning.
Advice: "I probably got like four more weeks," Moreno said. "About four more weeks and I'll be good." The Dolphins were hoping to have Moreno back in Week 6 when they come out of their bye. He's now targeting Week 8 against Jacksonville for his return. Lamar Miller will continue to be Miami's lead back for at least the next three games, with Daniel Thomas and Damien Williams backing him up.

I hate to say McKinnon, but you never know how many touches he'll get, but Vereen is even worse with the touches and Cinci D is tough.
I'd prob go McKinnon, but wouldn't consider it a strong start.
Has been good until last week. Gonna be iffy weather, hostile environment for Bridewater ( if he plays) this ain't Atlanta he's seeing. McKinnon is a reach but I believe he's a better play than Asiata. If there ever was a sell high guy, Asiata is the man.
Vereen, who knows, nobody knows, it's Belichick with a screwed up offense. Cincy's D is arguably the best (Seattle at home but overall, Cincy looks good) Burfict back this week? Gonna be a tough day for Tom Terrific again. Only guy I'd trust is Gronk this week for NE against Cincy.
Draft position dictates Vereen, logic dictates McKinnon. Flip a coin or maybe pick up Antone Smith for garbage time against the Jints?
Thankfully I got him in one of my leagues and I am starting him tomorrow night.. kind of out of necessity but I like the matchup. I'm still kicking myself for dropping him in my main league last week. I seriously do not know what I was thinking. Oy..
Is he's included in the passing game. Why more than Cordarelle is a mystery. I like Norv Turner as an OC though, he's gotta be finding another god after AP. Best of luck if Ponder's starting though...
Because of his targets and he paid off, Randle will probably see less targets when OBJ gets acclimated. This week, however, you have to start every Giant available against Atlanta. I know, I know, looks too easy but you gotta play the match ups on anybody drafted lower than the fifth rd, right?
Royal long term, Randle this week would be my guess. I don't own Randle though...

Atlanta is vulnerable on the ground more than the air. And it looks like Beckham debuts this week..
Royal is playing the Jets ranked last against the pass. Chargers have no run game so they will be forced to throw. Malcom Floyd is questionable leaving Keenan Allen Gates and Royal. If Jets focus on Allen as they should Royal should have a field day. Plus they use Royal on short passes in lieu of the run.
Both guys get a lot of targets though.
I see Royal more as a flash in the pan and like Randle more long term myself though. Royal is on a hot streak and the Jets it should continue..
