The FCC is considering a petition to fine broadcasters and/or deny them a broadcast license if they continue to use the word "Redskins."
Whatever one thinks of using the name, this is government censorship and interference.
Now, it hasn't been done yet, but I'm shocked that they're even considering it.
Thoughts.

Yeah, you are pretty dumb. Happy to help.
No. Born and raised here. Phlly, NY. I was working in Montreal when I first found BBI and used MM as a handle.
We all have different opinions.
That I have a problem with.
In fairness he probably owns it.
They were responding to a citizen's request.
The apparent FCC agenda has been politicized for as long as I can remember and so is subject to administrational whims and outsized corporate interests. They have the power to fine and to recind broadcast licences.
They also have the power to change the way the internet is delivered to consumers.
They make the rules about who can and can't own multiple media outlets (tv, radio, newspapers, etc.) in given markets.
I'm usually not anti-regulation, but have rrarely been comfortable with this agency.
Here's a George Carlin bit this thread brought to mind.

According to the link on the other thread, this is an action to deny the renewal of the license of the radio station that broadcasts their games. Not Snyder, A RADIO STATION!!

Fair point. I did a cursory check and he has a 35% equity interest in the LLC that owns it. So he is a part owner.

Does it indicate whether that 35% represents a partial ownership or a majority share?
Players beating wives on camera
FCC now chiming in on Redskins name
At least it's business as usual in Jets land.
It's a can of worms and I hope the FCC realizes this.
B. Its a deragtory term and Im sick of hearing about it.'ll
C. It may not be YOUR America but its still America.
I'll let pass your smug comment in "A" because I figure you have little better to do than police work on threads.
As for "B," it's a derogatory term because elite liberals and progressives in politics and the media have determined it to be derogatory, after many proud years of use and pride from many, many, many, many Native Americans. Your side only listens to your side, confirmation bias at work (as, to be fair, it does with most of us.)
As for "C," it's the America I was raised in, where the government and government agencies didn't censor what we could say and do. If that's YOUR America, fine. It's not mine, nor is it the America of the Constitution or of liberty and freedom.

Sorry, MM. But your (2) is not remotely correct.
And I don't know why I changed letters to numbers. Huh.
