lpdcan28 : 10/1/2014 9:15 am
my cts caddy lease is coming to an end. right now the deals on a new cts are way too much for me. id like to stay in an entry level luxury car but hoping to stay under $300 if possible with little or nothing down. any brands or suggestions or deals you know of. I want to have a good idea before I go into a dealership and deal with them. thanks for any help.

hard to find a luxury car lease for under 300. It really depends where you live and you have to expect almost no options for a car that price. The commercials where they tell you an unbelievable rate for a luxury car lease has tons of small print and the car is basically crap without the good service that usually comes with cars like that.

I know of a BMW dealership in NJ where if you can give them a 7 month deposit for the lease of the car, the price of the lease will be about 30% or more cheaper. It's a very good deal but you need like 7-10k for the deposit (which you end up getting back at the end of the lease).

I just saw a commercial for MB CLA 250 starting @ under 30K. I'm thinking it would be right around $300 to lease...check it out.
Stay away from Audi if cost is your driver...

They use very bad residuals and kill you on the leases. They argue they're "keeping you in the family" and setting you up for your next lease by "building equity", but you're going to be paying for it - as they use 50+% depreciation on most cars. I love my S5, but have not had fun dealing with them going into my next car.

BMW is killing themselves to give away 3 series (which is why they're standard issue mid-mgmt cars), so that may be an option. Infiniti has some attractive lease terms on their Q50/60, as well. Acura has cars that fit into the entry level of luxury you could take a look at, as well.

Unfortunately I really like Audi, but am not willing to play their games right now.

I wouldn't expect to hit that $300 with nothing down, though. Maybe if you find a late model year, but even then - you're going to either have $5k down to get to around that point or pony up $400'ish a month.

is under $300. base model of course. but awd and enough options. yep no $ down, they were getting rid of 2012 models for the new redesign. just asking if something similar out there currently in the car world.

I will check out the mb cla. thanks!
Only car that is going "extinct"...

Is the Infiniti GT37 - which is likely going to be impossible to find right now. They're going to have the Q50/60 replace it.

You could probably get a really favorable deal, but I doubt you'll find it now that we're into October.

Also, those commercials with lease terms are notoriously inaccurate. That rate is for a single car on the lot with no options, and they actually just sold it yesterday. But you really wanted the fully loaded one with navigation and the espresso maker in the glove box right?
Acura TLX is advertising at $299 per month.
MOOPS : 10/1/2014 10:44 am : link
There is $2500 down though.
Your going to be north of $400/mo

work the numbers.

35k car with an average residual value of .6 in 3 years. That means your using up $14,000 of the cars value. 35,000 x .4 = $14,000. plus taxes, acquisition fee, registration and dealer fees of at least $2,500. That adds up to $16,500 which you can then divide by 36.

That gets you a payment of $458.
the cla is not under 300 per month
CruzShip52 : 10/1/2014 12:58 pm : link
you cant go by cost of car to get lease price, they are around 450 per and it is a garbage car, made with plastic inside, tires are garbage slicks which wont move in snow

I leased a 2013 S60 T5 with premium package for $279 a month, $1500 down.

They even gave me the sport 17 inch wheels from the T6.

Car has been great so far. Plenty of power, good but not great fuel economy, amazing seats, glides on the highway and looks sharp.

They recently emailed me with more new offers on the 2014's.

Some luxury brands just don't lease well like audi and BMW. With all their availible options the sales people need to sell them.

Volvo's on the other hand, and VCS (the finance company) make most of their money on leases.

And I would absolutley lease another one.

The brand is at it's zenith right now with the new models. Especially the XC90.
is Volvo

Definitely. And certainly more so than the Acura mentioned earlier in the thread.
Owning a fickle Volvo was the exact reason we switched....
MOOPS : 10/1/2014 5:41 pm : link
to Acura in 2000, and never regretted the decision for a second. Acura rocks. Volvo, not so much.
Honestly, I could never understand the premium paid for Acura
jcn56 : 10/1/2014 5:44 pm : link
because there's so little difference between the corresponding Honda when it's well appointed. Nissan and Toyota both seemed (IMO) to do a better job of making their luxury makes stand out.
Is Volvo still owned by Ford?
Matt M. : 10/1/2014 7:12 pm : link
The thinking when that merger or sale went through was that Ford would be borrowing design from Volvo. It, of course, ended up working out the other way with Volvo just using cheaper materials and designs. So, Volvo lost the biggest advantage they had with the safety and design.
