one time my grandparents took me to a cockfight in Puerto Rico and I refused to stay after I watched how they just threw the dead loser chicken in a 55 gallon drum trash can. I was 12.
But lets be honest, Chickens were meant to be food. You can tell just be attempting to interact with one. It's not the same as interacting with a puppy.
You really have to be committed to see it through to all 920 chickens.
That's what immediately lept out to me. At a chicken every 5 seconds, that's more than 1.25 hours of swinging. And 5 seconds strikes me as an underestimate -- maybe it takes 3-6 seconds per swing at the beginning, but after a while you get tired. And I have to assume that the chickens had some room to move (otherwise it would be hard to kill them with a golf club), so many swings would miss.
nasty conditions, e.coli, etc; however, this obviously doesn't jive with the MO of Animal Rights activism...perhaps he received a subpar cutlet from Safeway and want to exact revenge?
Because I raised chickens, fed them daily, built their coop etc. but it is upsetting to me.
No animal should be killed in a cruel manner. I understand the food chain, but even if they're not classic pets, they're living animals. Take good care of them and they provide you eggs. It's a nice relationship. It's different reading this then holding one thay was attacked by a fox and it'd entire wing is falling off. Makes these things a lot less funny.
FYI, if you raise them, they react to you. One would coo when she saw me. Others had similar reactions. Sounds silly, but I guess something you have to experience. Or maybe it's the social worker in me!
its still animal cruelty. Further, studies show that perps of these actions dont tend to stop with small animals. He needs to be caught and jailed asap.
I mean, a whack to the noggin of a chicken with a 9 iron means instant death, no? Almost as instant and painless as getting your head cut off?
Assuming he was accurate every time. I'm sure quite a number of those died slowly, or at least slowly enough to experience agony before death. What a horrible thing to happen.
"Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of 18-year-old Gabriel Quintero, of Riverdale; two males, ages 15 and 17, from Caruthers; and a 17-year-old male from Lemoore."
Clearly, you have never beat a chicken to death with a 7-iron.
Btw, not judging.. just marveling at the way we value some animal life over others (myself included).

Hey man! That was in California!

There has to be a lot more to this story.

Fuckin Shep...
Jokes abound on this over animal genocide.
Meanwhile Vick is still one of the more hated athletes if not public figures in the country.
I guess it was a four man scramble...
