...Whether Bill pulled [Brady] because he's afraid he was going to get injured, or Bill was trying to send him a non-subtle message, as a player your mind kind of starts playing tricks on you and you start thinking like, 'What's going on?'" Harrison said. "But at the end of the day, Tom needs to play better. The offensive line needs to protect him, but Tom -- we've said it week in and week out -- he's missing opportunities that are there; he's just floating the ball in the air. ... |
Basically
he was knocked down 34 times in that game and it took a miracle for his team to lose, I wouldn't call it folding under pressure.

LOL......ummm, ok.
Typical overreaction. He's got nothing on that offensive line and nothing in that receiving core.

Agree. Brady is known, to fold under pressure. It seems like, that was exposed, back in 07. The Giants, showed his weakness. I know, no QB, likes pressure. But some, handle it, a lot better than others.

How many times, was Eli hit, against the 49ers, in the NFC championship game ? All I'm saying, is that Brady, gets rattled, rather quickly.
He just got the living shit knocked out of him and he had the presence of mind to call a TO from his backside, then threw a perfect pass down the sideline that just missed.
Someone needs to explain to me why Tony Dungy is on TV. While their at it, why he is considered a good coach.

Agree with the overall sentiment, but a "perfect pass" would have been completed, or at least gone through Moss' hands... kind of like that pass we all still talk about in SB46.
So was it 'perfect' ? No, it was like their season.. 18-1.
His "wave my arms around and point at a DE when he deigns to come anywhere near me, just so I can draw a roughness flag" act still irritates me, though.
I call bullshit. Brady got the shit kicked out of him in Super Bowl XLII and still came back with a go-ahead drive late in the 4th quarter. In the closing plays of the game he got his ass knocked back 10 feet by Alford only to toss a nearly perfect deep ball that required a great play by Corey Webster to keep from becoming a potential game-winner.
Brady's performance in Super Bowl XLII deserves a ton of respect. 99% of quarterbacks fall apart when facing that kind of pressure, but Brady kept competing until the very end.
In other news the sun rises in the east.
Regarding Brady folding under pressure, he did lead a late drive in 42 to put his team ahead. He just got beat on an even more amazing drive by the best comeback QB in the business.
Also, on the Pats final possession Brady might have thrown the best pass I have ever seen on a third down play to Moss. Webster broke it up with his pinky and prevented an outright disaster that would have made it impossible for me to ever watch football again, so I do not know if it would be accurate to say he folded under pressure.
What the hell is he supposed to do? Give him some players around him and we'll see how scared he is.
Two things would have made me feel that:
1) Had Norwood's kick been good
OR
2) Had the Hail Mary batted ball, been caught by Gronk at the end of XLVI
I admit that I was STARTING to think it was possible that maybe he had David Carr syndrome or was playing scared or was fading.
Now I think it's safe to say Brady is every bit the player Manning is and, frankly, is certainly better. So before we start saying Brady is scared of anything, let's see if he responds if/when the O-Line starts playing better. It took Eli literally all of 3 2 games with quality blocking for him to turn into a star again. He's playing poorly because the offense as a whole is playing poorly.
I know of no NFL quarterback that does fairly well under constant duress. They all lose their focus. Some sooner than others (Cousins).
To me, Brady is/was one of the better ones to perform under pressure. In the 2 Superbowls vs. Giants and under tremendous pressure, he played pretty damn well the whole game.
When a QB starts throwing picks, misses his receivers and has happy feet, that's when you know you've rattled the son of a bitch and it's time to move in for the kill.
IF his Oline protects him...
Problem has been drafting, so that's on Belidick.
Lmao
"Spock, I think, we're...headingfortheRomulanBirdofPrey, at warp, speed".
"The most incredible throws i ever saw in the NFL were made by Brady who got hit 34 times and put a throw 73 yards downfield on his Wr fingertips.
Then he did it a second time
Do you know how few NFL QBS can make a 73 yard throw in practice. Much less hit the wr like you are supposed to? Much less twice in a row?"
" i could not do it." Peyton and Eli could not do it" " i cant think of anyone else i ever saw play who could"
Ok...thats the opinion and source to contradict
Brady is a bitch. He screams rah rah like a pony tailed pussy.
Saw the Rodney statement this morning, he misses football, completely understandable but Brady has not been arguing with any coaches or players on the sidelines, very unusual for such a fired up player.
Can't dismiss Brady yet, he is possibly the best to ever play the game but I'll admit, I'm perplexed. He's been off target more than usual, he's got heat, Brady doesn't react well to penetration ( add jokes here) but unless the offense is totally inept, why hasn't he adjusted?
Gronk will get healthier but is Vereen hurt? He's got quick hit options to slow down the rush. 1st ballot HoF no matter what happens, best ever, he'll need to find a way...
Edelman can't possibly keep up the pace he is doing out there....even if he isn't the first read, he has to try to get open, in case he becomes the 2nd read.....add punt return duties, and this guy may burn out by the end of the season.....
Brady's confidence in his line and receivers, I believe, is shot.....at 37, Brady doesn't move as well in the pocket as he use to......the Patiots have to turn this around soon, and Cinci is standing in their way......
