Train to/from Secaucus Junction?

Jon C. in MD : 10/1/2014 7:03 pm
Anyone have good or bad luck with the train to the stadium this year? I tried it the first year the new stadium was open, and it took forever to board after the game. There were thousands of people backed up waiting in line. And I know it was a total mess during the Super Bowl.

I'm planning to come up for a game this year, and I was wondering if it's working any better this season.

They've gotten pretty good with the loading process.

The amazing thing to me is how long that train takes to cover the distance to Secaucus. If not for the toxic swampland, you could walk faster.
Take njt from penn to seacuaucs

Then grab a cab to stadium. Will drop you off where you want and no time restrictions like the train from seacaucus to MetLife.

Get cabby info and say you'll be looking for ride back to seacaucus after the game. Avoid the madness that is the connection train post game and relax at a tailgate.

Pay an extra 40 bucks but well worth to have more time at the stadium/tailgate and avoid that mess of a transit system
Not this year

But last year for the Oakland Game I did and it was much easier than getting out of the parking lot.
My only issue with the train was the mob scene

at Secaucus Junction going home. When the Penn Station train pulled in there was a mad rush to get in and I could visualize someone getting hurt very easily.

In contrast, the loading scene at the stadium was quite orderly and really well managed.
it is still a big line

to board the trains after the game

They need to start running trains out of there sooner

Thanks everyone. Two more questions about taxis, since you brought up that option. Can I take a cab directly from Newark Penn to the Stadium? And, if I just want a taxi on the way back, is it hard to get one at the stadium? Or from Secaucus to go to Newark Penn?
