Is an inappropriate nickname... first and foremost because it is already taken and Beckham has no connection or relation to Old Dirty Bastard. How that makes it catchy is beyond me. I'm both a Wu Tang and Giants fan.
How many people liked Tomlinson appropriating LT? None. And that was more appropriate since it was his initials.
I have no idea whether BBI came up with or not, but to suggest that "it couldn't be further from the truth" is just nonsense. There are plenty of things that could be further from the truth than that. For instance, if someone had claimed that Vladimir Putin had come up with the ODB nickname for Beckham, I would think that that would qualify as further from the truth than to claim that BBI had come up with it. And that's just one example. I'm sure there are plenty more. Here's another one: claiming that Elvis Presley came up with it! That would even be further from the truth than to suggest that Putin came up with it. So now we have two examples of claims that would be further from the truth than claiming BBI came up with it. And that's just off the top of my head.
Slow down there on Putin. He could have made up ODB. I do know he stole Bob Kraft's Superbowl ring.
