It's not to hard

To keep Hester out of the game though. He doesn't scare me at all, because of that. I don't think he has any punt returns at all.
If weatherford is fine physcially
Scyber : 10/2/2014 12:04 am : link
he should be able to pin Hester OK. It all comes down to our coverage.

Honestly I'd have no issues with Weatherford shanking balls out of bounds if our defense is playing well.
Or Eli and co. can just not punt against this shit defense

Yeah, but he can shake a defender out of his shoes.

Don't kick it to Hester. Simple.

This....
Is it Teen Wolf Michael J Fox
pjcas18 : 10/2/2014 8:23 am : link
or Marty McFly Michael J Fox?

The prevailing view in Atlanta seems to be that Blalock won't play.
Big Blue Blogger : 10/2/2014 8:54 am : link
If the game were in Atlanta, the Falcons would simply call him a game-time decision. As it is, they will have to decide by Saturday whether he should make the trip. FWIW, this flight is the longest they will have to take until Week 14, when they go to Green Bay. (Their intervening road games are short trips: Baltimore, Tampa and Carolina, then New Orleans in Week 16.)

Smith and Tice can be careful with Blalock and take a long view. The Falcons are in first place. They are 2-0 in a division that suddenly looks weak, with the Panthers and Saints fading. A gimpy Justin Blalock doesn't really improve their chances that much this week, and exposing him to further damage could backfire in a big way.

As long as the Falcons win at least one of their next four games, their season will hinge on the division games that resume in Week 10, and whether their defense gets its act together. With or without Justin Blalock, they will hope to steal this game by making a few big plays and capitalizing on Giant mistakes. It's not a game they need to win, so in that sense they are playing with house money.
Hope Ryan spends more time

Atlanta Injuries Question
Reale01 : 10/2/2014 10:54 am : link
I thought they had more than 1 OL out and that they had a safety out? Isn't their Center out?

He is on IR, thus not on the injury report. Done for the year. Blalock is the big one on that list. If he can't go it makes their line extremely thin.
Update: Blalock is a DNP again today (Thursday)

He's been working with trainers to try to get loose. Falcons' blog entry, with relevant tweets from local reporters:
Quote:
The Atlanta Falcons suffered three high-profile injury losses in their catastrophic loss to the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday, and the area that was hardest hit for Mike Smith’s team was the offensive line. Both Joe Hawley and Lamar Holmes have been placed on injured reserve, but in addition to that, long-time stalwart Justin Blalock has been absent from practice after leaving the Minnesota game early.

#Falcons LG Justin Blalock is not practicing today. He was swinging his left leg to loosen up his back with the trainers.

With Blalock’s continued injury concerns, the Falcons appear to be moving on with the plan to deploy Harland Gunn as the starter at left guard when the team travels to the Big Apple to take on the New York Giants.

With Blalock looking doubtful to return, Harland Gunn definitely preparing for starting role at left guard.

Positively, it appears as if Blalock’s injury will not cost him any additional time, but it seems to be the consensus that he will need another week to heal, and that leaves an already battered unit even more short-handed. As of this post, the most likely scenario would be a line of Jake Matthews, Harland Gunn, Peter Konz, Jon Asamoah and Gabe Carimi (from left to right), but while that unit certainly isn’t ideal, it is still likely an upgrade on the majority of work from the 2013 season.

Definitive word on Blalock’s status likely won’t come down until later in the week, but it is time to familiarize ourselves with Harland Gunn as a starting NFL offensive lineman.
People keep saying 'Just don't kick it to Hester'
BlackLight : 10/2/2014 2:02 pm : link
But it's actually more difficult than it looks. You don't just want to kick it out of bounds, you also want to get a lot of distance. And in trying to get the most distance out of the kick, you might not land it out of bounds. That's the problem.

They have a home game in London on Oct 26th
Peter: Thanks. I forgot about the London trip.

That's a bad break for them, as a team that thrives in their own building.
