Honestly I'd have no issues with Weatherford shanking balls out of bounds if our defense is playing well.
Good one.
Yeah, but he can shake a defender out of his shoes.
This....
Smith and Tice can be careful with Blalock and take a long view. The Falcons are in first place. They are 2-0 in a division that suddenly looks weak, with the Panthers and Saints fading. A gimpy Justin Blalock doesn't really improve their chances that much this week, and exposing him to further damage could backfire in a big way.
As long as the Falcons win at least one of their next four games, their season will hinge on the division games that resume in Week 10, and whether their defense gets its act together. With or without Justin Blalock, they will hope to steal this game by making a few big plays and capitalizing on Giant mistakes. It's not a game they need to win, so in that sense they are playing with house money.
Michael J Fox scares me with our special teams
That is just so wrong!
He is on IR, thus not on the injury report. Done for the year. Blalock is the big one on that list. If he can't go it makes their line extremely thin.
#Falcons LG Justin Blalock is not practicing today. He was swinging his left leg to loosen up his back with the trainers.

With Blalock’s continued injury concerns, the Falcons appear to be moving on with the plan to deploy Harland Gunn as the starter at left guard when the team travels to the Big Apple to take on the New York Giants.
With Blalock looking doubtful to return, Harland Gunn definitely preparing for starting role at left guard.

Positively, it appears as if Blalock’s injury will not cost him any additional time, but it seems to be the consensus that he will need another week to heal, and that leaves an already battered unit even more short-handed. As of this post, the most likely scenario would be a line of Jake Matthews, Harland Gunn, Peter Konz, Jon Asamoah and Gabe Carimi (from left to right), but while that unit certainly isn’t ideal, it is still likely an upgrade on the majority of work from the 2013 season.
Definitive word on Blalock’s status likely won’t come down until later in the week, but it is time to familiarize ourselves with Harland Gunn as a starting NFL offensive lineman.
