What great is for the first time in a long time they don't have our offenses playbook down better than us. No more shaping the ball at the last second.
No more Omaha.
Altough a loss isn't the end of the world. It is imperative however to at least win 1 of te next two games. If we lose both, then we are in serious trouble.
I think we likely win today, prob. lose in Dallas. Division matchups are physical and exhausting, especially when its the eagles or cowboys. Although the Cowboys will likely ave their handsfull this week as well. Who knows.
Play physical.. play smart.. play fast.. stop the run..no turnovers and you MUST play solid special teams.. do that and you will destroy Philly..
The Eagles defense gave up 28 points to the Rams.. I dont even know who their QB is..
They are 28th vs the run... Run it down their throats.. use the clock.. keep their offense off the field..
U
Dont get caught up in th Eagles stupidity.. Play Giants football and we can win this game EASY..
We said the same thing about Atlanta's defense last week and they played pretty damn well against us, especially in the first half. This concerns me, because its a divisional game and you can throw all the statistics out the window in these games. They've been really crazy over the years. I just hope the Giants got all the mistakes out of them, because this game always seems to come down to poor execution or a turnover in the 4th that derails us. We need those types of things to go in our favor for once.
With that said, physical play and execution will be big in the 4th quarter . Perhaps we get a big play from Cruz or Beckham that seals it. That would be a nice ending.
Play smart, error free football and continue to improve.
We win this thing we are sitting nicely and confidence building. If we don't get the W, next week in Dallas is even bigger. Lets go gentlemen, get it done tonight!

the point is you cannot use statistics as an indicator of how teams will play. I know we won, but Atlanta's defense was not playing like one of the worst in the league either. Eagles defense is also one of the worst, but has been very opportunistic. All we have to do is give them a glimmer of hope. These games always come down to a 4th Quarter mistake or play. Do not discount the Eagles even with the 28th rated rush defense.

Im sorry.. I thought the Giants scored 30 points last week... The Giants offense was sluggish after being off for ten days.. had very little to do with Atlanta's defense..
And who is talking about stats.. the Eagles have given up 27 to the Colts, 34 to Washington and 28 to the Rams.. I cant even tell who the Rams QB is right now..
NO a bad defense doesnt mean an automatic win.... but a bad defense CAN be exploited..
but I'm viewing this as a 2 game mini-playoff of sorts.
Lose both games, we're in deeep shit
Split the two games, we're "ok"
Win both games, we're in the driver's seat
I'm so pumped for this. I saw so many Giants sweatshirts and apparel yesterday, all of us fans are so ready for this game after the embarrassment of last season.
I think the two keys to the game for us are the DL play and the RB play. The difference between the 1st and 2nd halves against Atlanta last week was mainly due to the DL play. But against this Eagles team we can't have our DL only show up for one half. If our DL can dominate that Philly OL, we should win this game.
And although I'm a big fan of Andre Williams as a runner, I'm worried about our RBs in the passing game. Jennings was a good blocker and receiver, hopefully Hillis and Williams protect Eli well tonight and also make catches when it comes their way.
And the x-factor is clearly ODB aka OBJ aka Lil Becks aka Philly's worst nightmare. Can't wait to see how he plays tonight in a primetime divisional playoff game, hopefully he delivers.
Games are huge...if we lose now they will be must
wins later...plus stopping our winning and bye...
will effect physique for next half....
these 2 are our season...
if they attack, attack, attack weak Eagles D with the no huddle and catch the damn ball. I worry that if the game is close the special team play will lose it for us.
It is imperative to win divisional games at home. Those teams should be really worried. Every time we win at Wash/Dallas/Philly on the road, we are one step closer to the division title. If we win both we will be 3-0 in the division, all on the road. Thats a big hurdle for the Eagles and Cowboys.
Fewell needs to get out of his comfort zone and play more aggressive D as in the 2nd half with Atlanta. Forget read and react. Heat from beginning to end. Contain the edges and bring constant pressure up the middle to keep Foles from being able to set up and make his reads. Disrupt their rhythm, get bodies in the backfield before McCoy and Sproles can get out of it. Keep them off balance and out of sync, let coverage take care of itself.
to seeing Beckham getting even better and taking Randle's starting job
I don't know the percentages, but I'm going to guess that the Giants have three wr on the fields more than 50% of their offensive snaps - and probably more than 75% of passing plays. Just a guess. But point is, IMO there are three starting WR, not two and Beckham is already a starter. And besides, Beckham is replacing Cruz, moving Cruz back to the slot.
Bottom line? With Beckham and O'Donnell, the Giants have a group of receivers that any team is going to struggle to defend. Loss of Jennings, however, really hurts the passing game in McAdoo's offense.
6-3 regular season (0-1 playoffs, 2006). This is what always gives me hope about playing in Philly. But I have grown to be an eternal pessimist when playing big games against the Eagles, even though I've seen Big Blue come out on top many times.
I usually have a good sense of how things are going to shake out; but not this season. I really don't have a handle on this Giants team yet (which makes me feel like I'm in the minority on BBI, which seems convinced we've turned the corner already) and I really can't say for certain how good or bad the Eagles are.
I'm sensing the Eagles O isn't as bad as it's been the last three weeks, but their D isn't as good, either. I'm sensing the Giants O isn't as good as it's been the last three weeks, but their D is. Special Teams play might be a significant factor.
So - Not a bad Philly O against a pretty good NY D.
And - Not a bad NY O against a pretty lousy Philly D.
But - Philly ST against NY Coach Quinn
George, I hope you're wrong about the ST TD. From memory, statistically speaking, teams that give up an interception TD, fumble recovery TD, or ST TD, almost never win.
You may disagree but to me this game is the season
I don't mean if they lose they are out of contention. I mean that this game will show us what sort of team we will have for the 2014 season.
This is the game that defines the 2014 Giants. I believe the Giants & Eagles will both give 100% effort. If our Giants lose it, then I will conclude the Eagles are a little better than our Gmen this year. If the Giants win a close one, it will tell me we have a solid chance to win the division and will likely make the playoffs barring any catastrophic injuries.
If our Giants win by double digits as I believe they will, just jump for joy. It will mean to me that this team will pound Dallas next week too and will finish the season with at least 11 wins.

have to contain Sproles, Ertz, and Celek. They could easily exploit our LBs. I think the game will be very close, but I'll predict the Giants win 24 - 20.
No more Omaha.
Need a split in the next 2 games at least.
The Eagles defense gave up 28 points to the Rams.. I dont even know who their QB is..

If the Giants do not self destruct, they stand a decent chance.

At the top of the division with two divisional wins.

Go GMen!
Stop the run
Run the ball avg 3-4 yds
Pressure Foles with front 4
Win turnover battle
ummm...ok

...will be tough.
Winning in Dallas the next week will be tougher.
I think it's beyond reasonable expectations to think we come out 2-0.
I'll take 1-1 gladly and -- if we play real well -- then 2-0 would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Bill, I'd believe then that the Eagles are a bit better. Finding ways to win games that they have no business winning.
