Aside from the Cruz injury
bceagle05 : 10/12/2014 11:29 pm : link
my biggest disappointment is Justin Pugh. Please tell me he's playing through some nagging injury? That was about as poor a performance as I can remember from an offensive lineman who's at least halfway decent.

Amazing this game ended 27-0. It had 41-0 written all over it.

Two things I can't get through my head about TC tonight
trueblueinpw : 10/12/2014 11:30 pm : link
Why did TC throw the red flag in the first half? Clearly that was a catch. What was the point? So early in the game, no point.

And why in world didn't we kick the field goal in third quarte? What the heck was TC tthinking? That was a horrible call. Absolutely horrible.

Pugh has looked a bit off at times this season. He's whiffed on a number of occasions. I think he's working through an injury, the arm protection would seem to indicate that.
A shutout thrown by a bad Eagles defense

i think it is fair to say that there is a very high chance that Cruz brings that ball in if he does not get hurt.

Then it is a great call.

on down. Both coordinators were a day late and a dollar short... McAdoo with trying to run without numbers and example #1,012 of Fewell NOT even remotely trying to take away the opponents' main weapon. Coughlin wasted a timeout/challenge just because he was angry. The offensive line gave them NO CHANCE to win. Despite McCoy returning to life, I give the defense a slight pass because I think the issues were 99.99% related to the coordinator.

The injury to Cruz was like kicking a man with broken legs in the nuts. Repeatedly.

I'll be over this mess by tomorrow. The team... I'm not so sure about them.

Austin Davis threw for 300 plus yards and 3 TDs. And their skill players are worse than ours. All comes to the OL. And right now, we dont have one.
No problem getting over the loss

used to this shit after last season and, let's face it, the Eagles have mostly had the Giants number in any sort of meaningful game for a while now.

But Cruz really hurts. Watching him sob being carted away was extremely difficult. Hopefully it's just for the season b/c the thought of his career being seriously affected is sickening.

Onto Dallas. Then after the bye Colts, Seahawks, Niners, Dallas again. (Fuck).

slow LBs don't help
bc4life : 10/12/2014 11:55 pm : link
McClain - compelling life story - slow. Beason slowed by injuries and we don't have another starer quality LB on the team - until the rook gets healthy
Why did McAdoo
pinyin : 10/12/2014 11:55 pm : link
Why did he keep running that same exact running play to the same exact hole all night? It got stuffed every single time.

Coughlin and McAdoo must have been hung over from last night or something. Neither of them showed up and their game decisions and overall perception were not alligned with anything in this game..

At least Fewell had the wherewithal to make adjustments, but they too were easily fooled by Chip Kelly's draw plays.

Poor Victor Cruz. Although this opens the door for OBJR, Cruz has some agonizing days ahead of him...

Then what does it say about the Giants offense? Not good. Even as bad as they ..Eagles D is portrayed .. they still posted a shutout of a team that was avg about 30 points a game the last 3 games. Like said, not great (i've watched them before this season) D but manageable or formidable to get the job done.
McCoy
rocco8112 : 10/12/2014 11:57 pm : link
was running wild most of the game. If you can not bottle him up, there will be problems.

O line shit the bed for the whole game. D line shit the bed in the first half, seemed to pick up play right before half and into the second half.

Overall they whooped the Giants in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

I still say if Cruz did does not get hurt and brings in that TD it may have been a different game.

trying to neutralize the eagles center blitz and 7 and 8 in the box. That has been the Eagle schtick against for 4 or 5 years now- break down the middle, get Eli to move his feet and effect his throws.

I said this in the other thread. That play drove me fucking crazy. 3 wide shotgun on 3rd & 1?
the one time they should not have quit on the run
SHO'NUFF : 10/13/2014 12:38 am : link
but lo and behold, they were stubborn enough to stick to the run the rest of the game while being down a zillion points.
Pugh
Percy : 10/13/2014 12:50 am : link
Looked like he was playing hurt -- slow, really couldn't move to his right very well (this hasn't been true until tonight), and so he was often beaten and pushed around out there. Pugh just says he had his worst game, blah, blah -- not why. His weak play made the already suspect Jerry worse and thereby affected Walton's play, too. That is, this might explain why the whole OL fell apart. If so, it's unlikely to get much better by next Sunday: Pugh can't be rested if it looks like even a weakened Pugh is better than his healthy backup.
I feel like if Cruz's tendon doesn't go pop, he catches that pass
Bramton1 : 10/13/2014 12:51 am : link
and the Giants make this a game. The defense was starting to dictate things. They were getting pressure. They were forcing Foles into bad decisions. A score would have given the offense some confidence and they could have done something when they got the ball back. Not saying we would have won, but we had a chance!

Instead, the defense just folded on the ensuing series. No pressure. The Eagles drove 93 yards almost effortlessly. The offense was lifeless after the play. I think the injury just deflated the team.
without Cruz and a porous defense.....
Simms11 : 10/13/2014 12:57 am : link
Without DRC and McBride could spell trouble against Dallas. If we lose next week, which is highly likely, this season may start to spiral now.

Oline needs to step up big time next week.

The reality is the Eagles were a playoff team last year and the Giants were sub .500.

It's gonna take a while to fix this team's issues and more then one offseason.
In addition to the poor play
Rudy57 : 10/13/2014 5:35 am : link
it was poor coaching. Why wasn't Pugh given any help? He was clearly having issues. Screens? Just because we didnt have Jennings doesnt mean we couldnt run a screen. I think we tried once.

Andre Williams needs coaching in a big way if he is going to have an NFL career. He looks for too much contact and he basically stops to load up for contact instead of keeping his feet moving. Now and then it looks great but he does it almost every time.

The DL missed Ayers, he has been a pleasant surprise this season but I dont recall seeing him play. Fewell needs to create some pressure with blitzes or something. There were a few plays where we gave them all day.

Coughlin made some poor decisions. The challenge was a joke. Going for it on 4th down so early in the 3rd quarter was a bad move. Yes they would have still been down 3 scores but it gets things going in a positive no matter what. Coughlin basically told the team if we dont get a TD here the game is over and it was. Macadoo seemed to call the same basic plays over and over. They should have rolled Eli out more, more screens to try to slow the rush and they barely did any of that. What about quick slants?

Maybe just a bad game. Everything seemed to go bad on O. Too many negative plays and long yardage situations. The D wasn't good but the O didnt do anything to help.

Agreed 100%. We gave the ball right back to those fucking assholes after they already went right down the field to take a 3-0 and allowed them to do it again to go up 10-0. 3rd and 1 after our RB just ran over their safety and we're passing. I dont get it.

you can't help everyone. The middle of the line was being overwhelmed by the Eagles unbalanced line and the linebackers shooting bthe gaps.

Williams runs the way he runs. He's not elusive. If he was, he would have been a first round choice. He was not the problem last night.

You guys and your screens. First, the eagle linebackers are fast. Second, the eagles were playing their backers close to the LOS. You aren't running screens against that front. You need to attack the middle of the field and you need to run against it and break some running plays by getting past the front. We tried, but didn't do much of either.

Whining about play calling and coaching without seeing what the other guys are doing is foolish.

After a quick 10-0 score I only looked back

a few times. Those times the Giants' O L was on its ass or the D L was on theirs,

Right....screens and slants ...some would work if we tried
more...but eli is not mobile...more protections
should have been used...better running or less running
plays...move eli...or put nassib in....the little he
played...it was better....dallas will do same and
tc will have same gameplan.i think we go
down from here...unless big changes come
and they wont

Seriously, just run right in the middle of traffic. See what happens. I dare you.

these guys deserve no respect - players, coaches, management.

they are now a team that laid down like pansies for their biggest rival and will hence be treated as such. these guys are losers

Two hands on the Ball Williams ...
I dread this game ......
Ok Williams held onto the Ball .
For the Past 5-6 years I have hoped for O-linemen The
Only Decent young player was Beatty .
Dallas Rebuilt theres and Philthy went out and grabbed
Jason Peters and rebuilt there Line meanwhile back
at the Big Blue Ranch Jerry drafts all kinds of shiny
toys . Wilson was a head scratcher but he was gifted .
Bottom Line is we have Plodders as RB's nothing that
scares anyone . The second Big Hole has been a Tackling
Machine Oh Nice grab with Beason but lots of tread
on the Tires . Doesnt matter who we draft at WR or TE .
Eli had ZERO Time .Dallas will dominate us as well .
As for the Game The Smirk on Chip Kelleys face drove
me crazy .The Play Calling looked like Last Years Team .
We ran our Mouths and then got punched in it .
Icing on the Cake was Cruz going down we should have
scored on the Beatty so called hold . Don't think it
would have changed the outcome either way .
What a Total humiliation .
