Well, first, Harper said he did too much thinking in Seattle. Not from an X's and O's or a playbook standpoint. Rather, the Seahawks wanted Harper to run routes a precise way. Harper says it slowed him down.
Interesting. Dont know much about him and he has bounced around and has not stuck to a team but I wonder how much input/say McAdoo had in this signing since he was with Packers last year --- I think he had much input in it.
They weren’t really switching me but they wanted me to play receiver, tight end, the slot, some blocking stuff at fullback, so they were trying to teach me protections and blocking D-ends and I just said, ‘Man, I just want to play receiver.’
And speed...tough to bring down...good
slot wr....4.4 speed ..6 2..229...
makes hard catches....drops some eazy ones...
sounds like cruz....
lack of focus..not blocking or doing right routes. ..
Got him cut...see how long he lasts....
looks good on film
10/14 Chandler Fenner CB Activated from the Practice Squad
10/14 Victor Cruz WR Placed on IR, torn patellar tendon in right knee
10/14 Travis Harvey WR practice squad deletion
10/14 Chris Harper WR practice squad addition from Packers
"The 2013 fourth-round pick banished by the Seattle Seahawks was at it again Saturday night in the Packers' 20-16 loss to the Tennessee Titans.
Harper made a difficult 17-yard grab over the middle, absorbing a wincing hit in the process that would've caused most receivers to lose the ball in these wet conditions.
“I didn’t know until he was there," Harper said. "I didn’t feel him on me.”
Later in the drive, on second and 21, he broke free for a 38-yard reception. Kevin Dorsey cleared the top of the defense, leaving Harper open.
Then, came the head-scratchers. On a two-point try, Scott Tolzien's underthrown ball was dropped by Harper. And on a fourth-and-2 from the Tennessee 32 the next possession, Harper motioned to the left, ran a quick out and dropped Tolzien's pass again.
"I saw it coming," Harper said, "and it came at a weird angle. I still should have caught it.”
When the going's good, Harper is a 227-pound weapon in traffic. He started strong back in OTA's. Yet the Packers will be factoring in the inconsistencies.
Last weekend at Green Bay's Family Night practice, Harper had a deep drop that was almost identical to the one that led to his exit in Seattle last preseason, a would-be 40-yard touchdown. When that play is brought up, Harper chuckles.
He remembers it well.
“It helped me. But it still kind of haunted me because Family Night I did the same, exact thing," Harper said. "I hate body-catching. I really can’t body-catch. That’s my weakness. I just like catching everything with my hands. That’s my toughest thing."
So maybe quarterbacks should sky their passes a foot high here on out to Harper. True, he always seems to make the more difficult catch." Link - ( New Window )
I love how everyone was comparing him to Anquan Boldin. Haha, hey, he was taken in the fourth round for a reason! Who knows? Maybe he can be our H-Back of the future and be like Delanie Walker.
I thought he was a very impressive player at KSU. I am kind of surprised he hasn't done well in the NFL. This might be a good signing. This guy is very good with the ball and has size and speed. McAdoo must have seen something in him to bring him in.
Maybe we will

I'm sure that will endear him to Eli.

6-1/225 4.4 speed. I always imagined him playing in the slot with his solid RAC abilities. Soft hands but still learning the WR position.
But yeah, he's on the PS. We'll see if he develops
