Who to start, Drew Brees(@det)or Tom Brady(vs Jets)?

I'm high in Drew Brees being Drew Brees again, but this is a tough matchup without Graham.

Brady at home against a bad pass defense on a short week looks great on paper, but I fear that Rex is all too familiar with NE which nullifies some of that. Brady had two awful games vs the jets last year, but the pats weren't the pats last year.
I don't like Brees' matchup at all this week.
arcarsenal : 10/16/2014 10:06 am : link
Luckily I have Rivers so I can sit Brees without much hesitance in that league but I also have him in another where my alternative is Kaepernick.. who just had a monster game vs. StL. I may sit Brees in that one too.

Tough call for you, though. The weather is supposed to be pretty bad tonight I think so it might not be conducive to throwing a lot and Rex will probably draw up a decent game plan to keep Brady from torching them. I still might go Brady anyway. Brees in Detroit without Graham I just don't like much at all.
All good pts.
kmed : 10/16/2014 10:12 am : link
It would just kill me to sit brees after starting him all year. When he's on, there's no such thing as a bad matchup.

was talking to my friend in Providence last night and is going to the Pats game tonight; he said they are expecting wind and huge amounts of rain.

I just dropped Dalton for Bolden so I only have Brady, but if the weather doesn't let up I don't see how anyone will be able to throw downfield tonight. I may have to drop someone for a scrub QB which would really suck.
I would probably go Brady

with Graham out you take away Brees's sfety net and his goal line target...Qbs at home on Thursday nights have usually faired very well...

i got 1 for you guys...

Rivers vs KC or Newton vs Packers

the Saints with the bye week figure it out and put up points. Obviously that includes Brees having a nice day. My though process also had the Giants winning big vs the Eagles so tread lightly my friend.
Ok based on UCONN post

a lot can happen between now and 8pm

the storm breezed past fairfield county last night so it could hit hard up there mid afternoon then be ok for the game. I'm fine with rain, but wind is a different story.

Which QB's?
pjcas18 : 10/16/2014 10:18 am : link
Eli @ DAL
or
Stafford vs NO

6pts per TD

yeah, my QB sitch turned into a big shitburger

League two:
Russell Wilson @STL
or Tony Romo vs NYG

4 pts per TD
I picked up bolden in both my leagues.
kmed : 10/16/2014 10:18 am : link

have to start Stafford even without Calvin
UConn4523 : 10/16/2014 10:19 am : link

Who to start:

Reggie Bush (against NO)
or Hillman (against SF)?

Leaning towards Hillman, Bush is too inconsistent.

Brandon Bolden is tentatively expected to start in the Stevan Ridley role Thursday night.
Beat writer Jeff Howe expects a rotation between Bolden, James White and Shane Vereen, with the Patriots riding a hot hand. Vereen is obviously the safest bet as we know his passing back role is intact and the Patriots have used him in some short-yardage situations before. Bolden is a desperation roll of the dice until we get some more clarity here.

I'm wondering which 2 to start out of Stewart, Sankey, and Bolden (McCoy on BYE and Ingram just coming back).
I'm starting Bush

I'm in a huge bind in my PPR league
Sonic Youth : 10/16/2014 10:27 am : link
My WRs suck. I'm finally benching Patterson (watch, he's gonna have a huge game cause of it...)

I'm forced to start Boldin, Alshon, and either Andre Roberts or Stevie Johnson. Who do you guys go with?

I had a waiver claim in to drop Miles Austin (he was actually a decent fill in the first few weeks of the season) and pick up Antone Smith, but since I already have FJax and Gio Bernard with Andre Williams and McFadden on my bench, I instead dropped Austin to get Andre Roberts. Good back-roster move?

I'm trying to trade Andre Williams to a kid who needs a RB for Sanu. He doesn't start Sanu and I don't start Williams, and both will have a drop in production when AJ/Rashad Jennings come back, so I'm hoping he bites.
Benjamin

but with anything, just make sure to check your lineup by 12:45pm on Sunday. You'll likely know about Benjamin this afternoon as he passed all his tests apparently (he went back into the game as well).
I'd go Cutler with the huge mismatches the wideouts have

Idk if you're in an 8 team league or what, but having Stafford and Eli is definitely not a shitburger. That's a great pair to choose between. I'd go Stafford. I don't like playing Eli anyway, I feel like its bad karma, but in general I don't trust the our Oline.

In the other league, it's a toss up. I have a feeling Romo will torch us. Wilson will probably torch STL just like Kap did. Wilson is a much better QB than Kap.

in standard scoring, I worked out a trade with someone where I'd give up:

Golden Tate
Darren McFadden

and receive:

Watkins
Fred Jackson

This league has a flex, and my team as constructed is:

Luck
Golden Tate/Demaryius/Reggie Wayne/Boldin/Hurns/Floyd/OBJ
Demarco/McFadden/Taliaferro/Reggie Bush
Julius Thomas

so if I made the trade, I guess I would roll with a starting lineup of:

Luck

Demaryius/ and two out of Boldin, Wayne, or OBJ (which 2?)

Demarco/Fred Jackson (or Regge Bush here? What do you think? I'd go Jackson)

Julius Thomas

Someone in the flex out of Boldin, Wayne, Reggie Bush or Sammy Watkins.

Think I should pull the trigger on that trade?

8 team league? I get the cliche, but not sure you're using it correctly here.

12 team league and Eli is the 15th ranked QB who I picked up off the waiver wire and Stafford is 18th.

Not exactly a rosy outlook for the position.

would you accept this trade?

I get Reggie Wayne

I give Ronnie Hillman

My current RB's Forte, Branden Oliver, Joique Bell, Shane Vereen, and Hillman

My current WR's: Julio Jones, Kelvin Benjamin, Rueben Randle, Jordan Reed (No TE league), Keenan Allen, ODB, Allen Robinson

Not sure I need Wayne, and I think Hillman could be good.

What would you do?

Other WR's I could counter for are Brandin Cooks (keeper candidate), Bishop Sankey (keeper candidate),

So, maybe Hillman for Sankey or Cooks? Make more sense?
Pj yes,
kmed : 10/16/2014 12:33 pm : link
there's a chance hillman wins the job and becomes slightly more valuable than Wayne and there's a chance hillman becomes irrelevant in 3 weeks.
So as is
pjcas18 : 10/16/2014 12:34 pm : link
you'd do it?

Not try and get Cooks or Sankey instead?

I'm 1 - 5 in a keeper league. we have 3 double-headers so I'm not out of it yet. But I'm starting to look for next year's keepers.
Oh in a keeper,

Cooks

We keep 2. I can't keep Julio or Forte they'd cost me a 1st (either of them), I can just re-draft them. Kelvin Benjamin right now I have for a 14th. Branden Oliver for an 8th, Odell Beckham for an 8th, etc.

Cooks I could keep for an 11th round pick, Sankey would be a 4th, so he's less attractive.

I could keep Hillman for an 8th.

Wayne I don't see keeping under any circumstance
Cooks for an 11th

Who to stash in my open bench spot:
Matt Asiata (did he really lose the job?)
Bernard Pierce(rumors of him getting traded)
Miami Dolphins D/ST to stash vs the Jags for a big division game next week
Bengals D/ST was dropped-play the Jags in week 9 in another big game and keep my Browns D/st for 2 games

Who to start:
Brady or Ryan - Strongly leaning Brady

Browns D/st or Cards D/st (i dropped Cards because the Raiders now scare me after the Chargers game whereas 1 week ago they didn't and the Browns were available this morning after waivers vs the Jags)

Rueben Randle Ronnie Hillman or Isaiah Crowell at flex - Half PPR
Right aftr the draft, he had
pjcas18 : 10/16/2014 1:22 pm : link
Adrian Peterson and Eddie Lacy - so coming into the season, thought he'd be a juggernaut.

His QB is Peyton.

and his WR's are Dez, Brandin Cooks, Wayne, DeSean Jackson

funny thing is, we have the exactly some number of points scored in the league. And he's 4 - 2 and I'm 1 - 5.

H2H fantasy football love it or hate it.

I'm not playing Allen right now. If I don't play Lacy no skin off my back.

Well Allen had one big game too, if you take that out he's probably just as bad.

I like Allen, I drafted him, but the inconsistency is maddening, he's getting targets, just not in synch with Rivers like last year.

Too many other options too, he loves Royal and Floyd, likes Gates and Green and now Oliver.

GB running game is Starks or Lacy for the most part. I think they're both disappointing, but I think IF Lacy gets straightened out it's more of a benefit to me than if Allen does - just based on position.
Yeah Allen has been terrible

which I was surprised about, and it was messing with my head cause I thought the same. I'm going for it this year. Plus between the Browns losing Alex Mack and Tate's injury history, figured I'd sell high. Roster now looks like this for this week

Luck
Dez
Cooks
L. Bell
Gio
Reed
Flex: Sanu

Bench:
Allen
Vjax
Hunter
Khiry Robinson
Cunningham
Donnell

curious what you think.

to fill 2 RB's and a Flex I have:

Stewart
Sankey
Bolden
Benjamin

Right now I'm rolling with Stewart, Sankey, and flexing Banjamin since they think he will be cleared tomorrow. Would you take that risk knowing I won't be able to swap Bolden in on Sunday should Benjamin sit?
I have Ingram as well
UConn4523 : 10/16/2014 2:47 pm : link
...
Uconn, tough choices.
kmed : 10/16/2014 2:54 pm : link
Battling bye weeks?

I'd probably flex Benjamin and then just pick someone up on Saturday or Sunday if Benjamin doesn't play. I wouldn't start bolden yet, but this just me.
Or start Ingram at flex
kmed : 10/16/2014 2:58 pm : link
if Benjamin is out.

I picked up bolden who's upside is Ridleys role and who's downside is 4 touches a game. I need to see how it shakes out first.
McCoy on bye
UConn4523 : 10/16/2014 3:00 pm : link
i'm loaded at WR so i'm doing ok, just need 1 of Ingram/Sankey to get going and i'll have a top team I believe.

But yeah, I think i'm keeping Stewart/Sankey as my starters and Flexing Benjamin with the ability to swap in Ingram or Beckham.
Yeah smart move.
kmed : 10/16/2014 3:02 pm : link
I like obj too as a flex play if Benjamin is out. That's a no brainer move for you, imo.
yeah
UConn4523 : 10/16/2014 3:03 pm : link
Bolden was attractive if the weather tonight blows. But its looking like the wind calms down tonight so hopefully that means a ton of Brady passing.
Is Ben Tate and Reuben Randle a fair offer in return for AJ Green?
knicks3031 : 10/16/2014 3:03 pm : link
I'm 2-4 and AJ isn't helping me on my bench, anyone else shopping him and have any insight?
I would say no
jlukes : 10/16/2014 3:04 pm : link
I think you should be able to get a better RB than Tate
I'm with Luke's, put Aj green on the block
kmed : 10/16/2014 3:05 pm : link
and see what you can get.

Uconn, I'm still torn on brady vs brees, but I think I'm leaning brady. If nothing else, it'll make tnt a game more interesting.
Hope Brady

goes off tonight I am playing Peyton Manning going for the touchdown record
Shane Vereen

Would you take him in the flex over Martelius Bennett, Steven Jackson and Sammy Watkins?
Jlukes/Kmed
knicks3031 : 10/16/2014 3:30 pm : link
Someone offered Rashad Jennings and Beckham (14th round keeper) for AJ. I don't know how different that is from Tate/Randle, but OBJ's keeper value is intriguing for next year
Two things i got
terz22 : 10/16/2014 3:46 pm : link
Flex Andre Willaims or Shane Vereen

And offered a trade I get Wes Welker for Ben Tate.

My WR are total shit right now with AJ Green being hurt but I'm just not thirlled with Welker right now.
Imo

Teased the Jets to +16 with under 50. Rain and wind hopefully will keep the game relatively close
Yeah, my instincts are telling me

that the pats win a defensive game, but I'm a terrible gambler!
the rain likely won't matter

See, now I stayed off but you have to drag me back in.
I complete you.
You've gone out on a few limbs here, limbs get heavier in the rain. We all don't have the luxury of playing in a ten team league with at least 4 of them being related to you.

Good to see you asking for more information on trades though, like I told you to. I don't mind the no credit, you keep it for yourself.

And yes, I've played in leagues against Yahoo experts and beat them soundly. If they paid any kind of money for the research involved I'd consider it.

I'll sit back and watch my fan duel Thursday nighters cash me again...
I really have to wonder
pjcas18 : 10/16/2014 8:24 pm : link
what Aaron Dobson did to be benched this long.

The shouting match with McDaniels sounds legit, but they're hurting for weapons who can stretch the field unless you count LaFell.

Last year Dobson to me looked like he was developing into a legit option.

healthy scratch every game that he's been healthy.

UConn4523 : 10/16/2014 8:43 pm : link
your conclusion is that Bolden could be a bad pickup?
If you started Bolden
Rocky Thompson : 10/16/2014 8:47 pm : link

You need a 4 TD lead by the Pats to get anything out of him. If you started Bree's over Brady based on the weather, you should have consulted with Weatherman first.

Gray? Is that Dorian Gray? I told you they wouldn't pull Bolden off of special teams to be the #1 RB.

Triple teaming Gronk is gonna hurt me though...
That's BB,

I couldn't care less about AJ green. You said information that everyone knew, that turf toe lasts, congrats. He looked fine playing through it then hurt it more. Kudos to your wisdom.

And once again I don't have him on my team so being right or wrong about it didn't even come into play.

But this is tiresome. The right/wrong arguments when we all read the same reports is stupid. I'll happily admit when I'm wrong, but I didn't predict anything with green.
