Who to start, Drew Brees(@det)or Tom Brady(vs Jets)?

I'm high in Drew Brees being Drew Brees again, but this is a tough matchup without Graham.

Brady at home against a bad pass defense on a short week looks great on paper, but I fear that Rex is all too familiar with NE which nullifies some of that. Brady had two awful games vs the jets last year, but the pats weren't the pats last year.

I don't like Brees' matchup at all this week.
arcarsenal : 10/16/2014 10:06 am : link
Luckily I have Rivers so I can sit Brees without much hesitance in that league but I also have him in another where my alternative is Kaepernick.. who just had a monster game vs. StL. I may sit Brees in that one too.

Tough call for you, though. The weather is supposed to be pretty bad tonight I think so it might not be conducive to throwing a lot and Rex will probably draw up a decent game plan to keep Brady from torching them. I still might go Brady anyway. Brees in Detroit without Graham I just don't like much at all.
All good pts.
kmed : 10/16/2014 10:12 am : link
It would just kill me to sit brees after starting him all year. When he's on, there's no such thing as a bad matchup.

was talking to my friend in Providence last night and is going to the Pats game tonight; he said they are expecting wind and huge amounts of rain.

I just dropped Dalton for Bolden so I only have Brady, but if the weather doesn't let up I don't see how anyone will be able to throw downfield tonight. I may have to drop someone for a scrub QB which would really suck.
I would probably go Brady

with Graham out you take away Brees's sfety net and his goal line target...Qbs at home on Thursday nights have usually faired very well...

i got 1 for you guys...

Rivers vs KC or Newton vs Packers
I am thinking
Fish : 10/16/2014 10:14 am : link
the Saints with the bye week figure it out and put up points. Obviously that includes Brees having a nice day. My though process also had the Giants winning big vs the Eagles so tread lightly my friend.
Ok based on UCONN post
nygiants16 : 10/16/2014 10:15 am : link
i change my opinion to Brees
Brandin Cooks
Fish : 10/16/2014 10:15 am : link
and Pierre Thomas pick up the slack for Graham out.
a lot can happen between now and 8pm
UConn4523 : 10/16/2014 10:16 am : link
the storm breezed past fairfield county last night so it could hit hard up there mid afternoon then be ok for the game. I'm fine with rain, but wind is a different story.

Which QB's?
pjcas18 : 10/16/2014 10:18 am : link
Eli @ DAL
or
Stafford vs NO

6pts per TD

yeah, my QB sitch turned into a big shitburger

League two:
Russell Wilson @STL
or Tony Romo vs NYG

4 pts per TD
I picked up bolden in both my leagues.
kmed : 10/16/2014 10:18 am : link
I think he will get first crack at the gig.
have to start Stafford even without Calvin
UConn4523 : 10/16/2014 10:19 am : link
I wouldn't start Eli again until he proves it with a bounceback game.
Who to start:
TheEvilLurker : 10/16/2014 10:20 am : link
Reggie Bush (against NO)
or Hillman (against SF)?

Leaning towards Hillman, Bush is too inconsistent.

Brandon Bolden is tentatively expected to start in the Stevan Ridley role Thursday night.
Beat writer Jeff Howe expects a rotation between Bolden, James White and Shane Vereen, with the Patriots riding a hot hand. Vereen is obviously the safest bet as we know his passing back role is intact and the Patriots have used him in some short-yardage situations before. Bolden is a desperation roll of the dice until we get some more clarity here.

I'm wondering which 2 to start out of Stewart, Sankey, and Bolden (McCoy on BYE and Ingram just coming back).
I'm starting Bush

Bernard

vs. the Jets or Cutler vs. the Dolphins?
Its no given
UConn4523 : 10/16/2014 10:25 am : link
and for all I know Hillman can catch one of those passes, but Bush should be pretty fresh and without Calvin he should get more looks. Its also New Orleans so you hope its a 50+ point game. The 49ers are also top 5 in rush D.

Id start the first 5 listed...
I'm in a huge bind in my PPR league
Sonic Youth : 10/16/2014 10:27 am : link
My WRs suck. I'm finally benching Patterson (watch, he's gonna have a huge game cause of it...)

I'm forced to start Boldin, Alshon, and either Andre Roberts or Stevie Johnson. Who do you guys go with?

I had a waiver claim in to drop Miles Austin (he was actually a decent fill in the first few weeks of the season) and pick up Antone Smith, but since I already have FJax and Gio Bernard with Andre Williams and McFadden on my bench, I instead dropped Austin to get Andre Roberts. Good back-roster move?

I'm trying to trade Andre Williams to a kid who needs a RB for Sanu. He doesn't start Sanu and I don't start Williams, and both will have a drop in production when AJ/Rashad Jennings come back, so I'm hoping he bites.
Benjamin
pjcas18 : 10/16/2014 10:27 am : link
has a concussion and might not play, watch that
apparently they aren't worried
UConn4523 : 10/16/2014 10:29 am : link
but with anything, just make sure to check your lineup by 12:45pm on Sunday. You'll likely know about Benjamin this afternoon as he passed all his tests apparently (he went back into the game as well).
I'd go Cutler with the huge mismatches the wideouts have
PlaxidentalShooting : 10/16/2014 10:29 am : link
Cooks, Beckham Jr., or Kennan Allen for WR2?

Idk if you're in an 8 team league or what, but having Stafford and Eli is definitely not a shitburger. That's a great pair to choose between. I'd go Stafford. I don't like playing Eli anyway, I feel like its bad karma, but in general I don't trust the our Oline.

In the other league, it's a toss up. I have a feeling Romo will torch us. Wilson will probably torch STL just like Kap did. Wilson is a much better QB than Kap.

in standard scoring, I worked out a trade with someone where I'd give up:

Golden Tate
Darren McFadden

and receive:

Watkins
Fred Jackson

This league has a flex, and my team as constructed is:

Luck
Golden Tate/Demaryius/Reggie Wayne/Boldin/Hurns/Floyd/OBJ
Demarco/McFadden/Taliaferro/Reggie Bush
Julius Thomas

so if I made the trade, I guess I would roll with a starting lineup of:

Luck

Demaryius/ and two out of Boldin, Wayne, or OBJ (which 2?)

Demarco/Fred Jackson (or Regge Bush here? What do you think? I'd go Jackson)

Julius Thomas

Someone in the flex out of Boldin, Wayne, Reggie Bush or Sammy Watkins.

Think I should pull the trigger on that trade?

looks like the heavier stuff should be gone by 1/2 time and wind only 5mph. still could be a first half dud for brady.

I pretty much have to start him over Eli this week.

8 team league? I get the cliche, but not sure you're using it correctly here.

12 team league and Eli is the 15th ranked QB who I picked up off the waiver wire and Stafford is 18th.

Not exactly a rosy outlook for the position.

I'd sign up for that in a heart beat. He can string together TD's when he's on so as long as the majority of the game isn't that windy I am good with playing him.
PPR league
pjcas18 : 10/16/2014 12:25 pm : link
would you accept this trade?

I get Reggie Wayne

I give Ronnie Hillman

My current RB's Forte, Branden Oliver, Joique Bell, Shane Vereen, and Hillman

My current WR's: Julio Jones, Kelvin Benjamin, Rueben Randle, Jordan Reed (No TE league), Keenan Allen, ODB, Allen Robinson

Not sure I need Wayne, and I think Hillman could be good.

What would you do?

Other WR's I could counter for are Brandin Cooks (keeper candidate), Bishop Sankey (keeper candidate),

So, maybe Hillman for Sankey or Cooks? Make more sense?
Pj yes,
kmed : 10/16/2014 12:33 pm : link
there's a chance hillman wins the job and becomes slightly more valuable than Wayne and there's a chance hillman becomes irrelevant in 3 weeks.
So as is
pjcas18 : 10/16/2014 12:34 pm : link
you'd do it?

Not try and get Cooks or Sankey instead?

I'm 1 - 5 in a keeper league. we have 3 double-headers so I'm not out of it yet. But I'm starting to look for next year's keepers.
Oh in a keeper,
kmed : 10/16/2014 12:34 pm : link
that changes everything. Need so much more info.
Cooks
kmed : 10/16/2014 12:35 pm : link
would be ideal, but it depends on keeper rules and how many you keep and what you lose andmore
Can someone explain how this would work?
PlaxidentalShooting : 10/16/2014 1:01 pm : link
They just changed Cutler's sack to a rush and he lost rushing yards. I just lost by .2 points because of it.

We keep 2. I can't keep Julio or Forte they'd cost me a 1st (either of them), I can just re-draft them. Kelvin Benjamin right now I have for a 14th. Branden Oliver for an 8th, Odell Beckham for an 8th, etc.

Cooks I could keep for an 11th round pick, Sankey would be a 4th, so he's less attractive.

I could keep Hillman for an 8th.

Wayne I don't see keeping under any circumstance
Cooks for an 11th
kmed : 10/16/2014 1:09 pm : link
would be great.

GMenLTS : 10/16/2014 1:13 pm : link
that's excellent value. He's their go to WR next year barring any setbacks.

pjcas18 : 10/16/2014 1:18 pm : link
I was skeptical of Hillman, but he looked great last week I thought.

And this guys other RB's are Lacy, Sankey, McKinnon, Asiata, Crowell, Reaves

Hillman would start immediately for him.

his backs suck
2 questions guys
Mr. Nickels : 10/16/2014 1:21 pm : link
Who to stash in my open bench spot:
Matt Asiata (did he really lose the job?)
Bernard Pierce(rumors of him getting traded)
Miami Dolphins D/ST to stash vs the Jags for a big division game next week
Bengals D/ST was dropped-play the Jags in week 9 in another big game and keep my Browns D/st for 2 games

Who to start:
Brady or Ryan - Strongly leaning Brady

Browns D/st or Cards D/st (i dropped Cards because the Raiders now scare me after the Chargers game whereas 1 week ago they didn't and the Browns were available this morning after waivers vs the Jags)

Rueben Randle Ronnie Hillman or Isaiah Crowell at flex - Half PPR
Right aftr the draft, he had
pjcas18 : 10/16/2014 1:22 pm : link
Adrian Peterson and Eddie Lacy - so coming into the season, thought he'd be a juggernaut.

His QB is Peyton.

and his WR's are Dez, Brandin Cooks, Wayne, DeSean Jackson

funny thing is, we have the exactly some number of points scored in the league. And he's 4 - 2 and I'm 1 - 5.

H2H fantasy football love it or hate it.
yep, that's the nature of FF
GMenLTS : 10/16/2014 1:25 pm : link
I should probably be 4-2 in both my leagues but a couple opponents go off when you play them and I'm 2-4 and 3-3.
