Defense

RV NYDN: NY Giants will have hands full trying to stop Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray
LeSean McCoy had been a disappointment, averaging just 2.9 yards per carry. And if he can shred the Giants defense like that, just imagine what Dallas’ DeMarco Murray — the NFL’s leading rusher, by far — is going to do.

NFL

King MMQB: Unknown Dallas D
The Cowboys have been the season’s biggest surprise, and much of it is due to the outstanding play of a unit devoid of big names and expectations entering 2014. Plus, the Week 7 player to watch and 10 things to keep an eye on Sunday
"I appreciate what obviously was so methodical work by their personnel staff,” Kansas City GM John Dorsey said this week in his video-watching lair inside the Chiefs practice facility, whipping through some Dallas video from their win over Seattle on Sunday. “People don’t understand what they had to do when they switched from [Rob] Ryan to Rod Marinelli as defensive coordinator. You have to fit a whole set of new pieces together to reflect the new defense they’re playing. They had to figure out the position-specific needs, then go out and find the right players. From what I am seeing here, they’ve done a very good job of that.”

Goldner MMQB: The Case for Tony Romo and Philip Rivers
Discussions on the best quarterback of the past decade generally land on four names—Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers. But there's an argument to be made for two more additions, both of whom are having MVP-like seasons in 2014

Keefer Ind Star: Wait, who is leading the Colts in TD catches?
"Still, few could've foreseen a payoff like this. Six weeks into the season, Bradshaw not only leads all NFL running backs in receiving touchdowns. The most of any running back since 1975 was also nine, a record set by the Browns' Leroy Hoard in 1991 and matched by the Rams' Marshal Faulk in 2001."
"It's unheard of how good our offensive coordinator's been calling plays," Bradshaw said of Pep Hamilton. "It's just working out perfectly."

History

Today is Ron Johnson's 67th birthday

Given the reports about Johnson a couple of years ago...a sadness exists, for someone who broke Tom Harmon's records at Michigan, was a first round draft choice of the running back strong Browns, thankfully do to the Giants interest in Jim Kanicki to bolster the defensive line, was included in the Homer Jones trade, who in the NFL like at Michigan thrived the more he carried the ball, and who led a productive life off the field, sadly has had to face the ravages of disease...still for 1970 and 1972 he was the franchise, and should be a Giants Ring of Honor member for sure, time to recognize him for he was the successor to Gifford, Webster, Triplett and a winner in a decade where the bright lights rarely found their way to the homes of the nomadic Giant franchise.

after the bye week.
If DRC can't go,having 3 weeks off can't hurt recovery.
If he should need to be IR'd, just do it and move on.
Hopefully these injuries to key players will slow down in '15.
I still blame Ronny Barnes and his strengthening game plan. Yes I know he's medical director or some kicked upstairs title, but he was the strengthening/conditioning coach that TC was talking about when he said injuries were a cancer(under Fassel), and nothing has changed in a dozen years.
Connect the dots.
LOL! So Dallas finally establishes a great running game

and the media finds this as another excuse to give Romo way more credit than he is due! LOL!

The talking heads are just too predictable.
