Got any suggestions? Restaurants? Things to do?

Going with my toddler and the grandparents for the first time for two nights
Check out

The mad batter. Also a place to stay.
The Stockton Inn is interesting too and right across the street from the beach a block from the convention center.

The downtown outside mall section is interesting and a two good Italian places to eat. There is a place in there called the ugly mug. Pass the food is suspect and the service stinks.

Sunset beach is a bit on the out-skirts but worth a visit too.

The lobster house is a good dining experience but a bit pricy.
Big fan of two more upscale restaurants

We liked Tisha's when it was right on the water, but haven't tried the new location.

The Washington Inn is really good food.

and if you are staying there...and have a few bucks, you can't beat the Congress Hall Inn....they have a nice bar downstairs with a piano and on weekend nights...a good jazz pianist.
I grew up there and visit several times a year

Restaurants depend on your price point. As others have said, Washington Inn, 410 Bank Street, Peter Shields, Mad Batter are great but pricey. If you want Italian, I would recommend Cucina Rosa. Hot Dog Tommy's has great dogs and they are right across from the beach.

Also, the zoo is really great. A couple years ago Travelocity ranked it in the top 5 in the country. That seems a little high to me, but for what it is, a free county zoo, it is great. It is free, but the do accept donations. It is about 15 minutes away from downtown Cape May, exit 11 off the Parkway.
If budget permits, Th Ebbit Room at the....

Virginia Hotel is excellent. We had a great meal there this past summer. Pricey, but beautiful and worth it.
