Of course we (fans) should have confidence. After 3 straight weeks of excellent play, our offensive line s**t the bed last week. They were ambushed by the ferocity of the Eagle front seven. I view it as a learning experience for them. They know now that they must go out there and block each play like it's the end of the world. There is no "getting comfortable and coasting."
Our offensive line is young and talented. They just had a really bad game and were schooled last week. They will bounce back this week.
If the o-line blocking holds up this week, as I expect it will, then the offense will click, roll and score points.
Our D-line is going to have a big day against Romo. We are also going to shut down Murray.
1)Eli usually plays well in Dallas
2)The O-line will rebound
3)Sometimes a good ass kicking is good for a team
4)Ogletree is going to tell us all of Dallas's plays
5)When Dallas was supposed to go straight to the Super Bowl the less talented Giants came down here and kicked their ass
6)Dallas is about to meet angry Giant team
7)I'm grilling prime rib with caramelized onions and mushroom's, My families lucky go to meal for a Dallas game.
they walk away with the win or I walk away feeling like they should have. So, considering the fact that I have no confidence they can beat Dallas Sunday, they've got a hell of a shot!
...in situations where no one thought they had any chance for me to ever get stuck in too much of a "they can't win" mindset.
Even games that people don't readily remember like Week 3 in 2011. Lost to the Redskins in the opener, had a very non-encouraging win against StL the following week at home.. went to PHI to play the "dream team" and everyone thought we were going to get beat to shit.
And then.. Cruuuuuuuuz.
I wouldn't bet on them winning. Can they win? Fuck yeah, they can. It'll be a good game. It's not going to be a repeat of Sunday night. I will say that much I feel sure of.
I just hope if we tank we don't try to win out like last year and miss out on another Jake Matthews. Solidify a LT of the future, another mauler guard in the run game and start dominating some games!!
The book is written on how to defend us the rest of the year: Double OBJ, double Donnell, stunt the ever living fuck out of the interior OL, and dare Rueben Randle to beat you (spoiler alert: he can't). I haven't gone from riding high to it's fucked so fast on a season ever, but I believe what chances we had ended when Cruz went down.
to get shalacked. I think it actually might be worse than Philly. Kelly showed some passion towards the Giants knowing he had the game in hand. Garrett wont. It wouldnt surprise me if its a 38-10 type game.
I really fear for Eli because he will sling it around until the end, and might have a 4-5 INT game. And naturally everyone will blame him for it.
to counter what is going to be at least a 24 point Dallas showing. Unless OBJ goes nuts and Williams finds a way to consistantly gain 4+ yards per carry, I just don't see us coming out of there with a win. I do fully expect them to play much better than last week's putrid performance.
I cannot figure this team out so far the way they played last week against a division opponent does not fair well. I see them down early and going south in a hurry. Eli cannot do it alone our receivers are sub par and running game has not impressed and the o-line is another story
I'm just watching the game, that's all. Which Cowboys team shows up? A red hot 5 win team who knocked off the defending superbowl champs on the road or the one which barely beat Houston in overtime at home... Dallas either woke up last week or had a great dream is still somewhere in between the last 2 weeks.
Likewise, which Giants team shows up? Was the 3 game win streak for real? Was last weeks debacle for real or just a nightmare they'll walk up from on Sunday.
I have no expectations going into this game other than that Dallas running game being pretty fn good.
We might not win, and I agree that the Eagles provided a "blueprint" on how to disrupt our offense but this is a game of adjustments. TC and McAdoo know exactly what Dallas is going to try and they've had all week to gameplan for it. Football is chess. We will counter.
Our WR's are no longer a strength and we're missing Shad a ton.. but OBJ has gamebreaking talent and if we can just get the pass pro straightened out, I guarantee the dude will make plays.
To me, this is a Donnell game. If we're going to be successful on offense, LD has to be a major part of it again. I am hoping that Ben will try lining him up in the slot and move him around a little bit. Gut feeling is he's a big part of this gameplan and will be a key factor.

The new OL will NOT have a similar clusterfuck as they did last week, imo
As positive as I am with the Giants, I feel just like when they went to NO in 2009 when they were beat up - No Chance.
Dallas is going to move the ball. Can the Giants.
Carr & Scandrick are going to play press man and have S help. Dallas will keep 7 in the box - can the Giants run at all. Go into 2nd and 9 and 3rd and 8 they will get demolished
Sure, the Giants know what Philly did last week and will adjust
historically proven to be pretty resilient bunch. While it may be a tall order in light of all their injuries, I am counting on them to fight hard for a win on Sunday and possibly pull one off by catching a complacent Cowboys team off guard. Go BIG Blue!!!

what to expect. By every objective measure, and particularly from last week's respective performances, we don't stand much of a chance. But as Giants fans we always hope, and as football fans we know how fortunes can shift week to week. I think this team is capable of so much more than we saw last week, but whether we'll actually get that is anyone's guess.
but last week, as we saw, the Jennings injury was huge, too. Huge that he can't play tomorrow, either. He got hurt at the absolute worst possible time, so thumbs up for that.
"To be beaten very badly at something, especially in such a fashion that you were behind from the start and never had a chance. Comes from the Boat Race, an annual rowing competition between Oxford and Cambridge, in which the first side to get ahead can move to the middle of the river (where the current is fastest) and is almost never overtaken thereafter.
"Chicago got boat raced by Green Bay, 37-3."

I have hints of arc's optimism sprinkled in, but this pretty much describes how I feel about today's game and the season as a whole.
depends on the game plan... which i have no access to!
if they go up tempo on offense getting to the line with 15-20 seconds left... put WR in motion, and utilize the flats... then yes i like our offensive chances.
If defensively DRC plays then yes as well.
if either of those dont happen i give us zero shot.
If the Giants lose, they are 3-4 going into the bye and 1-2 in the division with ALL of their divisional games remainung at home. That gives the offense another week to adjust to life w/o Cruz and another week for Jennings and DRC to get back to full strength.
Yes the upcoming stretch is a tough one, but the final stretch is just as easy looking.
If the Giants lose todat its not the end of the season.

fewell too...he may go all out on
romo...he is hurt and they cant
win w/o him...o will be fine
Last week so many here were overly confident. Now you think we will be blown out. Laughable.
The Giants weren't that good to be that cocky and they aren't as bad as they were on Sunday. They always play Dallas tough, especially in Tx.
To think your team doesn't have a chance and give up on them so early.

Keep in mind that Murray has been fumbling as well to go along with his consecutive 100 yard games.
Best way to win would be to take advantage of some key turnovers which reduces their time with the ball and puts up more points for us.
