Starting Oct. 26 at Monmouth Raceway.

Should be interesting how this plays out.

Driving 20 minutes to place a bet then another 20 to collect. Alot of people will make days out of it. U can alrrady sit there drink beers and simulcast the horse races across the country.

If the few casinos left standing play their cards right they will most likely be in the black in no time. If Borgata was smart they would be turning one of their restaurants into a sports haven as this is being typed. I know I would be much more likely to head down on a Sunday and plant my ass in front of a million big screens with some money on the line for the day. Day is good get a room and hit up a restaurant and da club.
I'm there

nice its about time to get NJ out of its financial mess, not at my cost though that's for sure. Will it be similar to Vegas lines in what I can bet on parlays, etc?
does this mean that on line gambling will be legal
Blue Baller : 10/18/2014 12:15 pm : link
for NJ residents betting with NJ casinos?

I don't think this applies to online sports betting just yet. My understanding is that what was actually done is that the Gov removed some hurdles to sports betting that were already on the books, but there is still a Federal issue as well as playing ball with the major leagues.

There's some more league wide reactions - I think the NFL is the least aggressively against this while the NBA is front and center. I know Commissioner Silver addressed this yesterday, but I don't have that info in front of me.

I agree that this would get me into the casinos on a Saturday or Sunday watching football all day long. I hate college football except if I have a few bucks on the line!

Never bet the Giants, though.

If they ever allowed college football, it'd be worth a trip to me. Every now and then I bet in Delaware, but it's NFL only and the variety of bets pale greatly compared to Vegas.

banks, really no college only NFL? Where did you read that?
AC is in near-terminal decline
dpinzow : 10/18/2014 2:56 pm : link
adding the sportsbooks will at least help the casinos still in business remain viable
I don't know what you're talking about
Banks : 10/18/2014 3:00 pm : link
Delaware only allows NFL. If you are talking about Jersey, I don't the details of the bill so if you misconstrued my statement in saying Jersey won't offer college, that is incorrect. I only said that if they offered it, I would go.

Delaware only allows NFL and in-state horse racing

You got potential millionaires screwing around with autographs for small cash, cant imagine it'd take much for a Qb from some small school to lay down.
Can New Jersey afford NOT to intro Sports Betting?
glowrider : 10/18/2014 6:43 pm : link
And go full scale at that? I wonder if the sale of Revel for 5 cents on the dollar played a role in this.

AC is just dead in the water. They really need to rebrand, and fast. DO|AC is a good start.

I like The Sands in Bethlehem better if I want table games - easier drive from Manhattan. Mohegan too, especially since if you want poker, Foxwoods is right around the corner.

Perhaps I never really liked AC, but I spent plenty enough time there over the years. Just one of those places you grew up with to some degree or another.

I hate to see what's happening, happen.
Why not allow

the Meadowlands to have Spots Betting?
I understand that they need something to stay open.
Sorry,
