Howyadoin : 10/18/2014 4:59 pm
Had a circuit go down...few sockets and some lights in two different rooms. No circuit breakers were tripped. Lights and sockets started working again. Found that weird...now today it happened again? In the house 19 years..older home...never had problems before..Anyone? Bueler? Anyone?
Not an electrician

but check all the wires plugged into the sockets for wear
The first thing I would do is find the breaker.

Determine if it is the entire breaker that trips or if it is in the middle of the run. If it's the middle, there's a short. If it's the whole run, it could be the breaker going bad.

Was a bad electrical outlet. Electrician came over, traced the circuit loop. Replaced the outlet.

find that breaker...go to box...shut main...
take cover off and on of the screws to breaker
are loose or wire off
all good advice here but

Be careful and don't wait. Partially open circuit randomly tripping means hest buildup and possible fire hazard. Could also be an open neutral. If it's not the whole circuit tripping just part of one then check your outlets. One loose connection at the beginning will affect the whole.
