Can run good routes, can catch, pretty athletic, but is not tough with the ball in his hands. Not ready to give up on him at all, he has a role to play, but he is making some costly mistakes.
Great ball catching hands but bad ball holding hands I guess.
Go watch some tape of Mark Bavaro.. and he could block too.
If you think Bavaro had glue hands, you never saw him play. Best TE I ever saw, but he was definitely not a sure thing. Bavaro would have never, ever made that one hand grab Donnell made today or that circus catch he had against the Redskins with one hand.
and that is not to say bavaro didn't have good hands
He did. Donnells hands are off the chart. For that position, that is a big plus. However, if he keeps fumbling, it won't matter how good his hands are. He needs to clean that up, fast.
The best catching hands of any TE you have seen? How long have you been watching football? He doesn't even have the best hands in the game now, let alone all time, at TE.
You know who I fell bad for? The fucking fans that had to watch another fucking game handed to the opposition.
He was fighting for extra yards and looked like the strip was an afterthought. and f memory serves had he not made those extra yards they would have had to punt?

Have you seen some of the one handed grabs he makes about 8 feet in the air? I have not seen that in my lifetime, no. I think I can remember one drop so far this season and he has been targeted about 40 times. The guy has glue on his hands. He is not the best TE in football, far form it, but his hands and ability to get a ball are second to none. I have definitely never seen a Giant have his hands at that position and I saw both Shockey (mediocre hands) and Bavaro (good hands).
He doesn't catch the ball as cleanly, or secure it as quickly. Donnell does have a very large catching radius, which makes his hands even more impressive.
"Best hands ever" is kind of an academic point. Donnell's hands are very, very good. The marginal value of upgrading them to Christensen's level would be pretty small. The marginal value of upgrading his blocking and ball security, however, would be enormous.
Everyone remembers that play in San Fran dragging guys downfield. But everyone forgets he did it again in the same game only to have the striped away and recovered by San Fran. You take the good with the bad.
You know every time you put your hands on the ball the d is going to try and strip it
They drill against it over and over and over again. Makes me sick.
He got outmuscled on both, he held ball fine--nothing to do with brains. You must be a rocket scientist, though.

moron.

LOL nope.
[Insert Ebola joke here]
That they suck too?

His problem isn't like Tiki. He just lets guys guys rip it away from him. He just needs to be a man

I don't feel bad for him though.

every defensive player will try to strip him of the ball going foward

Then goes on to become a future hof'er lol

So basically you're saying Donnell might be better than Boss, Ballard, the JPP of TE's, Fells, Pascoe and some practice squad guys.
Not exactly the gold standard for TE's.
If we got solid to very good play form all of our players, we would have only two losses, at the most.

even if he doesn't have the first
it is 4th and inches
