No need even really to discuss him. We need to figure out how to get better pieces around him for one more run before he is too old. He probably has 3, at most, 4 high quality years left
About the guy SS with the M16 in the follow up car popping one off by accident and blowing the Presidents head off. 5.56 round tumbles can do that type of damage.
Giants obviously wanted to run in order to slow the pass rush
When it got to be halftime and they couldn't run, a smart coach would have gone all in with the WCO and tried to throw the ball to the RBs a bit, instead of trying to do the same thing over and over again.
RE: This years seems to be about lifting Eli's over all numbers
That's how I see it. We are not a SB team so he is not getting in with another win, at least not this year. This year is about getting his stats and trying to shed any judgements made regarding him.
That's the silver lining. It sucks to lose but if we are to lose then I want Eli to pile up stats. 116. something QB resting and 3 TDs is a damn good game.

And I am right about the hungover secret service guy too.
When it comes down to match ups we just look really overpowered compared to other teams. Next year with all our cal money and they draft I think we are going to get the line we need
this point. His completion %, passer rating, TD:INT, etc. is just too far established to be improved as significantly as they'd have to be with how much time is left of his prime/career in general.
He needs that third ring and he's very, very likely not going to get that here (Maybe on another team? Who knows what his future with the Giants actually is now, as it's going to be an issue to deal with this offseason one way or another).

So if he ends up top 7 yards/TDs with 2 rings isnt good enough to get him in? Ok.
And I would look at other HOF QBs completion percentage and TD/INT ratio and see if he gets in.

No so, Riggies. If Eli does turn his stats around for the next few years, it will become obvious to the sportswriters that Eli stats were crap b/c of the old system he was in.
Every single one of Eli's rate stats for his career are mediocre, at
best, dep, for his era. Some are, frankly, below average and that's before you really look at how ridiculously turnover prone he's been for most of his career for what the league was during his time in it (whether his fault or the system he played in).
He's going to compile counting stats somewhat (as did Kerry Collins, Drew Bledsoe and Vinny Testeverde, who are in the top 13 for passing yards -- not that I'm putting them on Eli's level as a QB in "reality")... until other guys from this era and coming ones shoot past him with their own pinball numbers pretty easily within a not long time frame.
He doesn't even have the "He's a winner!" thing going for him, given how consistently the Giants don't make the playoffs under him and how his career winning percentage as a starter is below guys like Romo.
I'm not saying I agree with it (because I don't really), but he doesn't get that third SB, he's pretty clearly not getting into the HOF. The last couple seasons unfortunately kissed any chance he had at fluffing up his numbers like he needed to goodbye.

You're giving sportswriters too much credit, vax.
Eli puts up a couple decent stat seasons, but the Giants still flop out of the playoffs, it does nothing for him and will offer no change of opinion on what he is or isn't -- actually, if anything, it'll just solidify for most that the two SBs were, in fact, flukes and that Manning was "carried" by his team both times to any degree that they weren't flukes.
I think you got this all figured out, by the way, who killed Kennedy?
