I don't see this loss as a season ender. I didn't think this team could overcome the losses we've had to IR. But we fought the boy's to the end, and turnovers doomed us. I think this defense is good enough to keep us competitive, but our offense scares me more. Without Cruz, Eli seems very hesitant with his throws. Eli and the O-line actually had a good game tonight. But the difference to me was Williams vision. The reason he lasted until the 4th rnd was simply because he doesn't possess NFL RB vision. Their were plays for him to make but his lack of vision caused us a lot of 3rd and longs. I know this season isn't lost, but too many injuries to star players has to take it's toll in the long run.
This team would be EXTREMELY lucky to go 1-3 in their next 4 games.
Even if the miraculous happens and they split and go 2-2 in the next 4, that puts their record at 5-6.
Dallas and Philadelphia will both be well out of reach at that point.
With Jennings and Schwartz back after the bye, I want to see what this team can do - even without Cruz.
As I wrote below, the problem isn't that he doesn't see what's happening, he doesn't seem to know what to do when the play is not well blocked at the POA.
If only Eli was 26 years old again
He has no real #1 WR, a Jekyell and Hyde TE, a bad OLIne, no running game and he still has 14 TDs, and almost 70% completion percentage.
Bad - OL, TE,
Ugly - Front Office, DC, OC
As a Giant Fan for over 63 years I hope the Organization can make a turnaround.
This is starting to look like a repeat of the late 60's and the 70's.
If this was a Public Company I would buy Put Options.

Williams' vision needs a lot of work at the NFL level. He just needs more experience and that will happen.
As fir the OP I'm more concerned about the defense than the offense, which didn't do too badly without Cruz and Jennings (MAJOR losses). Look at our WRs and TEs and we really don't have anybody elite aside from OBJ and he's a rookie
Jim Brown would've gotten creamed out there today.
May the Schwartz be with us.

There's a reason why you see him hit the hole when it's there, he looks fantastic, but when he needs to move laterally without missing a step he can't do it.
Our play calling leaves much to be desired it's so dull I can't believe we called another running play after a no gain once again how many times. Eli was good but this was a game he needed to be special like Romo was for his team in the second half. At WR we have two RR and OBJ the rest are camp bodies we have no game changing speed at WR presently. Everybody wants to say OBJ can do that but it looks like he is going to become our slot guy this year no other options presently. Washington was needed in the red zone but was inactive for someone signed midweek can't understand that at all. If he is that bad lets get someone on the roster that can produce or make teams respect his speed. JJ has become a comeback route guy only strange other teams WR's are lighting us up deep or short with ease. It was a big game for our receiving guys and for the most part they exceeded expectations but the lack of special speed kills us.
Our OL well gentlemen you need to be sent to the woodshed and beaten badly so that they can wake the hell up. They are guessing and not performing because they are truly unprepared and it shows. Blocking is about being more physical than the guy across from you not trying to react to the guy when he is buy you. I will say this they play much better when we have the up tempo game going but the dumb mistakes are killers. It's become a mental thing for them since Philly but they were much better tonight than last week. If Pugh is hurt then get him well it's not like he is playing very well right now.
The biggest problem for this team on offense right now is the lack of speed at WR and HB. We have a bye this week if we bring the same guys back after the bye its going to be a very long season with little hope.
Lastl but not least, to say the defense is good enough to keep them competitive at this point is a major stretch. As long as Perry Fewell is the DC this defense will always find a way to blow a coverage, give up third and long conversions, and play undisciplned football at the line of scrimmage. Oh, and take your best defensive lineman at this point, Hankins, off the field on third down in possible passing situations.
