Its clear to me that he is the most important part of our new offense. Having a back that is a threat on all downs to not only run the ball but catch passes for big gains is crucial in this west coast offense.
Losing Cruz was big. He was our vet and leader of the WRs but Jennings going down hurt us more. Yes our OL seems to have regressed a bit but Jennings is The best blocker out of all the backs as well.
I think that we will start playing better when Jennings comes back.
Jennings is much more patient, a better blocker, and receiver than anyone we have. Not saying we would have won with him, but the offense is much better with him than Williams.
In my view, it's the non existent LB corps - they just aren't that good.
Cruz being gone is big, but we can adjust imo..The longer RJ stays out or not close to 100%, the longer our troubles will linger..These two weeks are really important
another 3rd rounder who they are afraid to play in his 2nd year?
My God - how dumb can the guy be that, even though desperate for pass rush pressure - he isn't a regular fixture on passing downs? Is this guy not going to able to get a significant amount of reps until his 3rd year - you cannot survive with 3rd round players taking 3 years to produce a return on your investment.
He has the frame to add to, and the condor length the Giants always look for in their edge rushers.
In the NFL, he's playing on the line more often with his hand in the dirt, so he's got to get used to not biting on the hard counts, not getting baited by his blocker, set the edge and contain the ball back to the middle, etc.
Why can't they let JPP use his backflipping technique to hop over to the QB?
There is no question about Williams vision... he has none!!!
Looks like he goes straight to the gap drawn up for the the play even if there isnt an opening and misses wide open opportunities elsewhere.
But thats expected at this stage... vision will come with time & experience.

OL is struggling but not having him there is making things harder for the OL too. Defenses arent worried about any dump off passes, a sharp cut by the RB, so they're just pinning their ears and going straight up the gut of the OL to Eli or even Williams/Hillis to tackle them for no gain or even a loss.
Even if Eli gets off the pass, or they miss tackle Williams/Hillis, they dont have the speed to make a big play.
With Jennings in the back field it makes defenses hesitate. Even if its just for a second, that could be the difference between 2nd & 10 or 2nd and 4-6 yards, or even better.
Schwartz and Jennings back after the bye may cure what ails us.Manning will manage to find targets, he always does. The defense needs some adjustments, I'm not super conficent in them making the right ones, but I think the offense will unscrew itself and take some of the burden of the defense.Maybe with a slight reprieve they can get their shit together.
Again, if you've never put on a helmet and played the game, I don't expect you get that automatically but those of you watching this team for 20, 30, 40 however many years and you either think you just discovered something brilliant or you're a tactician now....this team sucks and you all are starting to suck even more along with it.
There is a reason so many good people are gone and aren't coming back, this is a football idiots paradise where the elementary gets you put at the head of the class. I can't believe this is a) a topic that someone thinks needs discussing and that b) people disagree with this most basic premise of football.
There was a thread before the season asked " who was going to make the biggest impact on offense this year". I said Jennings, and I saw VERY few others who did. Where were you if you're so smart? If it was conventional wisdon the RB , specifically Jennings, was the key to the offense then why wasn't everyone saying that? That's my point, that's what I said, that's what I see, that, and you're a douche, as always.Don't pretend like these forums were saying Jennings was what the season was gonna be all about. You heard TEs and short passing game,The OL, BecKham, manninfg cutting down on INTs, precious little focused on running game and Jennings. Screw you and your BS hindsight.

To be clear, this isn't about "Knowing" the offense would struggle without Jennings, is about an Op who said Jennings is the KEY, the CRUX, the MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER, on the offense, in case you didn't understand that, and nothing in your vicous smarmy sarcastic pile of rubbish post indicated or acknowledged that. I didn't state the obvious,I went out on a limb, before the season started on a thread that aske who would be the most important players, and I picked Jennings. The thread had nothing to do with common sense about a team struggling if the RB went down, dope. Also, if it's common ssense, why didn't you take issue with all the other posters on the thread who disagreed with the premise, as opposed to one who did, long before the season started? If it's simply personal, and the tone and wording of your post indicates it is, let me once again suggest you go attempt to copulate with your own nasty self, while I pat myself on the back all I want.
