3-4 at the bye, will in all likelihood be 3-5 at the turn:

Victor in CT : 10/20/2014 9:49 am
So, halfway through we can pretty much see where this is going. You can't say it's too early to tell anymore.

1) The OL stinks. It is what it is. Walton and Jerry are horrid, Richburg has promise but is a rookie playing out of position. Beatty and Pugh are capable but not great right now, could be a function of the weak middle. They can't run the ball because the middle caves in as soon as the handoff is made.

2) The DL is average at best, LBs below average. JPP is not convincing anyone that he should get a big new contract and belongs at LDE. Hankins is good but needs help. Moore needs to play more RDE on 3rd down. No pressure at all. Romo had all day. Overpowered in the run game, especially after Jenkins went down.

3) Eli still has it, but it looks less and less likely that they have another run left while he is still in his prime. The OL is putrid.

4) I like Williams, but no back can run behind that line. That said, somebody here pointed out that AW has a tendency to turn sideways rather than square up at impact. Great observation, I noticed it many times yesterday.

5) It's clear they are not good enough to beat good teams. at 3-4, they have IND, SEA, SF and DAL over the next month. 3-8 a distinct possibility. 6-10 finish. What happens next year? Lots of decisions to be made.

SEA and SF

Look just as average as the Giants do.
and in all likelihood...
ct.fatboy1080 : 10/20/2014 9:57 am : link
be a 7-9...6-10 team at the end. below average talent in the trenches sprinkled with a couple skill players on both sides of the ball just isn't going to produce winning football. End of story IMO.

Agreed. It all starts at the LOS
The Eagles were 3-5 at the midway point last year....
Britt in VA : 10/20/2014 10:00 am : link
and ended up winning the division.

Anything can happen.
Eagles
Sammo284 : 10/20/2014 10:07 am : link
Were a well coached team.
Were you saying that when they were 3-5,
Britt in VA : 10/20/2014 10:08 am : link
or are you looking back in hindsight and saying that because you knew the result?

And they were in 2nd place trailing a 4-4 division leader

a lot different than trailing two separate teams by 3 games in the loss column, with a head to head loss already vs both. I doubt any team has ever recovered from such a scenario to win the division. Wildcard may or may not be in play, but that seems best case

Yes
Sammo284 : 10/20/2014 10:09 am : link
I thought the Eagles were not talented enough.

We aren't well coached.

We will be 3-7 or 3-8 soon enough.
The Giants lack talent along the OL, the DL and LB
Victor in CT : 10/20/2014 10:11 am : link
You can't win that way. I don't think coaching is the real issue.

BrettNYG10 : 10/20/2014 10:11 am : link
I'd be really surprised if the Cowboys don't get to at least ten wins. And I'd be surprised if we hit nine.
I'm not saying it's likely...
Britt in VA : 10/20/2014 10:12 am : link
I'm just saying I'm not ready to cash my chips in yet.
I'm not saying we will come back...
BillKo : 10/20/2014 10:28 am : link
because Philly and Dallas are better, but didn't WASH overcome extreme odds back in 2012 to win our division?
Easier schedule late
Giants2012 : 10/20/2014 10:28 am : link
So they'll likey pad the win column and wreck their draft position. Not that the Giants draft well anymore. "Finding Giants" my tail.

Yes, they won 7 in a row to do it to close the season.

assuming a loss at home to Indianapolis! Wow hope the Giants have more of a fighting spirit than you do.

Brett, if they don't hit 12 it will be dissapointing.

They have an excellent offense, defense is just ok but their schedule helps them.

Injuries will be the only thing that holds them back from winning the NFC East. They are a better overall club than Philly (in fact, you could make the case they are better across the board on offense).
Another thing we suck at:
Daniel in MI : 10/20/2014 10:43 am : link
our WRs can't block to save their lives. We do one of those WR screens and the Dallas defenders get past their blockers in an instant. If they fell down in front of the defenders they might at least trip over them...

Yes, nice hold by Randle on the bubble screen. Not only does he get flagged, the guy he held STILL made the tackle.
I dont get how the OL keeps

struggling after playing so well a few weeks back. We need Jennings back and maybe possibly Schwartz can provide a spark on the line.
The OP is right on target

This is why I'm still pissed are Reece. We knew the O-Line HAD to be fixed and he wastes money on spent vets and picks up a Center in Round 2. He screwed it up so bad that TC has to use the Rookie center at LG.

The saddest part is that I'm sure Reece will make the same mistake next year.

Coaching is a huge problem. Game planning and discipline are big drawbacks.
what will it take
SBlue46 : 10/20/2014 3:50 pm : link
To get tc fired?
The Giants
spike : 10/20/2014 3:53 pm : link
are going to beat the Colts, Niners and Seahawks next month.

Aging.
We should beat IND easily

Luck sucks - according to Stan - so NYG should have no problem with that game.

Right, Stan???

LMAO...

Luck will get confused with all those Giants players on his team that he will pass to the wrong blue jerseys. The two teams' color schemes are very similar.
Uh, no.....

Like I say......this is a league of matchups......the Giants look slow compared to these two teams.....
